Both Denny and his father would turn in their graves when hearing the name pronounced 'Hjume' instead of 'Hulm' His nickname, "The Bear" was because he could be very grumpy with stupid questions from journos.
Bruce Mclaren wasn’t “MURDERED” as you put it, he died in a race car accident! Very poor choice of words from a real amateur of a narrator. And what was the relevance of showing the Benson & Hedges Ford Sierra, which had nothing to do with Hulme’s death as he was driving the B&H team BMW M3? Need to spend more time in checking & getting the facts right!
Bruce died, when he decided to take the car he was testing, for one more lap,and the crew waiting for him to come back around, heard the crash where they were standing, Denny died during the Bathurst race
Welcome to 2024 where AI churns out idiotic rubbish to mangle our proud history & now that I'm seeing so much of it, it looks absolutely deliberate. Denny deserves so much more than this clunky junk.
The crash was caused by an engineering mistake... by Bruce McLaren. He was a qualified mechanical engineer, chief designer and team boss, as well as chief tester and no. 1 driver. The rear bodywork was held on by quick-release fasteners. The new bodywork produced large amounts of down-force, much more than before. The increased forces were too much for those fasteners, tore to bodywork off - and suddenly there was no down-force to keep the car on the track. The car flew off the track and hit a marshall's post at speed. He was killed on impact. No-one is to blame except him. Don't get me wrong - I have HUGE admiration for Bruce McLaren.
The marshalls, a concrete structure, had been condemned, and was supposed to have been torn down. Goodwood had not hosted a Group 7 race since 1965, and with good reason. Wonder what Sir Jackie Stewart has to say about racing such cars at Goodwood.
If you can’t get it right don’t say anything. Denny was revived before he was taken to the medical centre and twice on the way to the hospital, he died in the hospital with his wife by his side.
"They" are deliberately wrecking our history & bludgeoning our achievements to bring everything into contestation. It's weaponised AI. Denny's family will be mortified when someone points this offensive rubbish out. Note how they show an image of Jack while they call Denny's name. It's grievous, appalling & deliberate. This channel is now littered with this mangled rewritten history. They're doing it on purpose to fuel aggravation. Younger generations are getting bombarded with white-anted history. It's discusting. Denny deserved a whole lot better than this AI mangled garbage. See my other replies.
Remember watching the race on TV here in NZ when his car started creeping towards the side of the track, I just thought he was having car problem's, pretty sad for us Kiwi's,
And you showed supprise that little New Zealand had produced an F1 Champion. We had 3 drivers at the top of F1 then, we now have 3 at the top of Indy Cars, we had 3 at the top of speedway back then including the greatest ever Ivan Mauger. We have a woman who has taken out 4 Female world MX champs, not to mension all the others and the top bike riders also.
Not to mention Aussies like Jim Richards and SVG I was lucky enough to see Ivan Mauger race at Brooklyn Melb in late 70’s - just a class above everyone else.
that is what you took from it? the incorrect pronunciation of his name, and multiple incorrect facts . . . i wouldn't even worry about the narrator's opinion, when it is obvious, that he has never watched a race, let alone an f1 grand prix in his life
A lot of rubbish. Pictures of Jack Brabham when referring to Hulme etc. McLaren "murdered" = total rubbish. The "tragedy" was that he died whilst doing what he enjoyed.
Denny definitely deserved a whole lot more than this appalling clunky dimwitted AI generated rubbish. He was more than just a champion, he was the best & most respected & admired wherever he raced. I'm seeing a swarm of these garbage AI presentations butchering history lately. Every one of them riddled with infuriating faults. Denny deserved better than this.
I like to see features about Kiwi heroes like this, but not with so many inaccuracies. As the comments here tell you, please go back and fix all the glaringly bad mistakes.
It surprises me that so many youtube producers spend so much time producing their artistic pieces, only to be let down by poor research and poor choice of narration. FFS, get it right: 1. Bruce McLaren wasn't murdered (6:47). He was killed testing his McLaren M8D Can-Am at Goodwood in 1970. His death was due to a racing car crash. 2. Mt Panorama is a racing circuit built on the side of a hill. It is usually a tourist road. It has two long straight pieces of road 'Mountain Straight' leading up the hill and 'Conrod Straight' leading back down the hill. These straight pieces of track are linked with a series of challenging curves along the side of the large hill, NOT THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS. 3. Denny's family name is pronounced 'HULLm'; NOT 'HUME'. 4. He died due to a cardiac arrest while driving car 20 (NOT 25 as shown at 11:02) in the B&H team BMW M3 during the Bathurst 1000 in 1992. His was an unfortunate, yet natural, death while at the wheel of his car, doing what he enjoyed. It wasn't 'tragic', i.e. a 'tragedy'. It was a natural passing, albeit while during the race, and he could not be resuscitated. He died doing what he loved: racing. How is that a tragedy? While your intentions may be lofty, please spend more time with your research, to get the facts right... and use a real/proper narrator!
Denis Hulme was a terrific racer of the purest kind. One of the all time Greats, very competetive in F1 and in the stunning CanAm series in the 60s and early 70s....Enormous respect and RIP.
this wasnt approaching forrest elbow at all. it was half way down conrod straight, well after forrest elbow. Also the B&H sierra was never driven by denny. that was alan jones (yet another formula one world champion from down under) and bob morris (or was it Seton...someone..but never Denny).
I've reported this crap. For the memory of Bruce, Denny and Chris Amon. Pisses me off when someone uses other people's lives and spreads bullshit information. This is how the truth is lost, idiots spreading misinformation and then others who know nothing about the topic start believing that bullshit and spread it on as the truth. Hope this shit gets shut down and next time do some research before creating crap.
What a load of utter dribble, get your facts right for a start. Denny had raced single seaters before going to Europe he competed in the NZ GP in 1960. He never won an Australian Touring car title, he did win a NZ Super Truck title. Like a lot of the other videos you have done your poor use of English ruins the narrative along with poor fact checking.
Finally revealed ? I watched it happen and knew immediately that Denny must have had a Stroke or something because there was no reason for him to just run off onto the Grass and then just gently slide down the safety fence for 100s of Metres until the Car came to a gentle stop by itself . There was obviously No Driver in Charge . Which means only one thing , he's either Unconscious or Dead .Front-page News the next Day . Heart Attack .It's hardly a Mystery , Jesus.
Both Denny and his father would turn in their graves when hearing the name pronounced 'Hjume' instead of 'Hulm'

you are right.
it doesn't show the respect Hulme deserves
Bruce died, when he decided to take the car he was testing, for one more lap,and the crew waiting for him to come back around, heard the crash where they were standing,
Denny died during the Bathurst race
I was a fire marshal in 1992 Bathurst station opposite were his car stop, i was the first marshal to arrive to offer assistance, sad day.
Bruce wasn’t murdered … that’s very disrespectful to say that about such an absolute Legend of Motorsport 😮
"Bruce McLaren murdered" How? he was killed testing his new McLaren M8D Can-Am at Goodwood circuit June 2 1970.......
Welcome to 2024 where AI churns out idiotic rubbish to mangle our proud history & now that I'm seeing so much of it, it looks absolutely deliberate.
Denny deserves so much more than this clunky junk.
AI is very smart... lol.

Not to mention that equally populated Finland has produced three F1 World Champions.

His loss was a sad one, but how many of us will be fortunate enough to die while doing what we love?
You can‘t even pronounce his name correctly… 😒
"You can't take the L out of Hulme"
Hulme: /hʌlm/ is the correct pronounciation
He's just another "click baiting dickhead" trying to be an expert.
For clarity, Danny did not go to medical centre he was sent directly to the hospital

Patron of the Rotorua Car Club. !!!
Hulme never ever won an ATCC he never even competed in the series

Very strange Commentary😢😢😢😢😢
McLaren murdered ? Shot by the guy on the grassy knoll perhaps ?
It's not HOOM but HULME.
Narrator is not worth listening to. So many terrible mistakes.
His name was pronounced Hulm not Hume. This is rubbish.
I was there at Bathurst when it happened. He died doing what he loved.
Dead right, must pronounce the 'L' .Would have pissed him off big time hearing himself rhyming with" Broom" 4:48 4:49
The narrator cannot even pronounce his name correctly. Listen to the commentator at 4.22.
❤❤
Poorly researched, bad pronunciation. He never won an Australian Touring Car Championship
You don't even pronounce Denny's name correctly.
His father was not GIVEN the Victoria Cross .... He EARNED it.
This video is a waste of time.

You have butchered the pronunciation of his name and where he was born so badly I stopped watching.
Welcome to the history writing by AI. Lol.

It’s pronounced Hull-m isn’t it? Almost silent L like in film

there is nothing new in this and it is full of errors
Quem não viveu automobilismo não deveria comentar do que desconhece!
It's "them", using AI to wreck our history.
Hello from Aust.
Denny was a great champion.
the w
Awful. Better if removed...
Dont waste time watching this garbage 😢
