    Maybe a bit, though I have to say the RR Dart audio of the HS-748 recorded with your camera was stunning. Can't stop listening to the Dart whistle during the Old Crow departure.

    The original Il-62 came out in the 60s, but the Il-62M (the plane in this video) was introduced in the early 70s. This particular plane is probably no older than 35 years, although Delta (formerly Northwest) has flown DC-9s for almost as long. They may be gas-guzzlers, but as long as the planes are properly maintained and the pilots are fully trained, I would not hesitate to fly on one of of them again (I used to fly on the Il-62M with Air Ukraine across the Atlantic in the 90s).

    It sounds so much like the Tu-154m. Great sound.

      They both use Soloviev D-30s. The more turbofan noise the merrier, lol

    Damn, that's loud on computer speakers, I can only imagine how deafening that was in person... I don't care how cool it sounds, I'd still be running in the opposite directions if I ever saw one of these waiting at the gate...

    Leave it to the Ruskies to make a unique design like that. Ah back in the days of low bypass ratio jet engines. I the JT8D buzz sound better 🙂

    The civil russian engines usually are weakly. Sad but true
    IL-96 has 4 engines becouse they are weak too.
    May be only Antonov An-124 nas been enough powered

    • @Alex-cn9ot
      @Alex-cn9ot 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thats not true, the equivalen in size A320 has only 2x111KN= 222KN of total power this one has 4x108KN = 432KN total. Where is the weak? Maybe the pilot on that video is not running at full power at the take off like the A320 HAS TO DO.

      puerco911 Surely this plane never would be crashed in the atlantic like the moderd Air france A-330 and his failure fly computers...this is pathetic!

    • @car_lov3r
      @car_lov3r 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      puerco911 It has to climb like that or the plane will stall.

    • @sparrowlt
      @sparrowlt 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Manuel Flores Escobar That A330 didnt crashed because a computer failure... i love this russian airliners but you dont need to talk false crap about Airbus or any other modern airliner...

    • @sparrowlt
      @sparrowlt 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +puerco911 they dont climb like a bat our of hell ....its not necesary , you are very heavy and you dont want to over-wear the engines.. are you familiar what the flex setting is? its a power setting usually used for take off in wich the weight, runway lenght, temperature, clima and so are taken into account to calculate whats the minimun safe engine power to use so you dont overwear the engines.. its not 100% (wich is the TOGA setting).. Beijin have very long runways so they could afford this take off to save fuel and wear to the engines.
      Also chinese controllers are notorious for absurd altitudes when exiting cities.. see the PilotsEye Shanghai video where they keep a fully loaded A340 at 1800 feet after take off for an eternity before clearing them to higher level

    • @supersonicfroot
      @supersonicfroot 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +sparrowlt actually the computer locking out the fly by wire was part of the reason flight 447 crashed. it flew through ice and the pitot tubes froze over despite heat being on, so the computer decided it couldn't handle the situation and abruptly returned control to a very surprised pilot. The rest is pilot error- lack of proper response to a deep stall, but Airbus should offer a more gradual transition from autopilot or a clearer warning for deep stalls/how to recover.

    Are you angry that your Nazi ancestor was shot down by this amazing plane in WWII?
