This is just great, i'd love to see the finished product and how you've made improvements since 2017, do you have another video where you finished the table etc? ..cheers
That came out awesome! I love how it folds up & stows, more machinery needs to do that! Have you thought about maybe a small bearing or wheel on the stylus to follow the pattern with? That could possibly help with the end result, although it is pretty impressive!
Thanks for watching! Making patterns for this type of system becomes more problematic with a larger stylus. A pattern with a nice smooth edge and a small bearing on the stylus would greatly improve the quality. The best approach would be to use a sheet metal pattern and a magnetic stylus with gear reduction motor to guide the torch.
Using corner to corner measurements to check for squareness can become deceptive if other checks aren't done first. Check sides are straight and opposite lengths are equal and parallel. A pseudo trapazoid shape can develop from press use causing aslight bend in one side. Equal corner measurements will still be possible while out of square. If you start with a square and reduce one side length to almost zero corner measurements are again equal without a single square 90° corner. Some like to call those triangles. Just a two year late thought so I guess I'll just have to square up with you later. Good idea you have there. Peace.
Wildman Tech How are you liking the Lincoln 210MP? I have one but have not used it yet. I did hear some people were having problems with them. I usually use an Esab Rebel which works great.
Not bad. It's not a pantograph but looks like you got some OK results. A pantograph would allow you yo make a 2x larger pattern, which would give you better resolution. Actually, you can set up most any ratio you want, within reason (0.25 to 10 or something like that).
Not quite the pantograph design I thought this was going to be. It looks more like a direct 1:1 trace. I like your arm designs though and will probably use those for a pantograph I want to make for my powerplasma cutter.
I don't think that's a pantograph, it's a tracing setup, and it's actually a great idea. It would be cool to add on some motors and sensors and have a CNC cutter. That's what I want, but I want it to be portable.
I like perfectionists but I love people that can go straight to the problem. Thumbs up for this nice project!
man you have common sense knowledge . i love your way of thinking. great projects and advice. kudos
Put me on the floor with the "that'll buff out right" crack !! Neat project, great video editing.

This would make my everlast plasma cutter even more useful. What a great idea.
Great work, it looks good
I might have to make something similar
It comes in hand.
Exactly what I need for my everlast plasma cutter. Great job.
Brilliant idea!!
Yeahh!!! This is a great ideia for a nice job" Good ideia and low-cost machine. Thanks for sharing and congratulations from Brazil!
Good job 👍😁 uncle Franko

Great job Wild Man, thank you
Thx for sharing, you do a great video
Don’t let anyone see you buffing the mud flap lady 😎
dear you are a nice mentor.more support to you.
A foot peddle so you can keep both hands working the stylus marker would make for cleaner more controlled cuts
Thank you. New Subscriber here. 😊
I love things like pantographs and such. You did a great job there. When are you coming to Houston?
I'll pass through when I go to Tulsa to work on the SV Seeker. May not be till next year.
By the sound of the weld I can only say your wire speed is a bit slow and the voltage is also low.
❤❤❤😂🎉😂❤❤❤
Good video ,great idea
Holly Smokes clean up is really easy with how you built that!

Perfect for my everlast plasma cutter!
What a great idea using the hydraulic press for a mount. Nice build and your right, I think it will buff out. :)
That sure would make my powerplasma cutter that much more useful.
This is a cool project .Nice work
Thanks Lloyd. thanks for stopping by.
I copied mine from Rotten Leonard's site, he had plans at one time, not sure if they are still available
Wish I'd known. Might have saved me some trial and error.

I blew the main board after 15 months, but they had it fixed in a week and my shop gave me a loaner while it was gone.
Thank you for the info. That kinda speaks to the lack of reliability. Crossing my fingers.
No it doesn't. Having a breakdown after 15 months in a production environment is not uncommon. They fixed it fast and for free.
Ok thank you
Very nice.

Yeah, it's actually a pattern follower. I have a CNC plasma cutter looming in the near future.

It's actually more of a pattern follower, but I was at a loss for a name when I mader the video.

cool .. thinking out of the box nice job :)
Good
"perfection is the enemy of good enough" ... haha ... I like that

Wrong. Good Enough is the enemy of Perfection, because Good Enough, just doesn't give a fuck enough to have enemies
nice build!
Thanks Frank! Hope you get notified of this.
Wildman Tech nope
AWESOME!!
Классно получилось. Молодец.
Are you warm enough in this video!!!
WOW,,,,,and here I thought my shop was small.
I am mig walder nid jobs
