Apparently the 'Monkey House' location is where the Park Cafe is now located. The farm house, is surely where the farm buildings are now, between the tennis courts and bowls green. A great video, thanks for taking the time.

It's still a beautiful park. Of course, long gone is that golden age of Victorian parks, where they held a more prestigious place in the world. But Abington Park is still the finest park in Northampton. Well kept, and enjoyed by many people year round. I used to visit it occasionally when I was young, but I'm now lucky enough to live a short distance from it. In the early morning I drive through it and when the sun is low in the sky it creates an incredible picture.

Great photography of Abington Park; what was 120 year's ago & today.I lived in Northampton from end of 1988 to middle 1997 and I miss the place and people, but my life as moved on.It's very good documentary and it makes you think, what life was like in Victorian period and what modern society is like today.

Good to see the Monkey House featured at 6:43. I have vague memories of it as a young lad from the mid-late 1960’s. It always felt a bit creepy although it was only a short distance from the museum. I think it was demolished sometime in the late 60’s.

Have known Abington Park since the 1940's and the scenes are still reconisable today

I was born and raised in Northampton... I left to live in the North East in 2008 it was in a down hill spiral then. I go back every year or two to see family and friends. Every time I go back it's worse it's turned in to a right shit hole

Try living in Luton, makes Northampton look like Mayfair and Belgravia mate

I think the monkey house as at the back of the cafe . I'm sure there used to be an ice house there.

All over Britain parks aren't what they used to be, thanks to cost cutting and changing patterns of play. 1900 was a golden time, by the late 1960's the parks all over were being neglected.
