I’ve wanted yes to for ages but thought people prefer quick cuts and talking on videos but showing the art caption is easier for me , have a couple filmed ready to edit (2 hours of footage!)
I started drawing at parks and libraries. It really pushes you out of your comfort zone. I really enjoy it now. I started to notice more people started drawing in the library after I started to. ❤
Chris, i'm loving this series! reminds me on the days when i go to the bookstore / cafes to draw as well. do you mind sharing what type of camera you're using? this would be a cool idea and i'd challenge myself to do it as well. keep up the great work!
wow the way you draw is with short light little strokes, its the same way i do and ive tried to make longer strokes which is helping but its good to see another artist doing it too
I really want to get that grafit reference pack with the women in the air, they are nice photos to use and def perfect for clowns or any circus piece our window cleaner always scares the crap out of me if im drawing downstairs lol
Chris, every time I commented on your socials I think I made it clear that I love your work, a lot! And I know what I have to say now may be irrelevant in this context, but I just want to say it anyway: Daaaaamn! You're frickin' gorgeous!
That coffee house looks so austere , cold and very unfriendly wouldn’t feel inspired in this cafe at all!!…. Your drawings however are WONDERFUL AS ALWAYS!!
Is the necklace gold or else silver? You could do stuff with your clothing and then go there and it would be different there but it looks like your belt maybe was helpful and that lamp.
I am losing all motivation in drawing because of how easy you make it look……because I love your style soooo much! (This is not hate, I’m just super envious) 😭
Hermosos Dibujos Chis!!!! 😃😃😃 Es muy bonito verte dibujando!!! Muchísimas Gracias por seguir compartiéndolos con nosotros.!!! Y muchos saludos desde URUGUAY!!!😃😃😃🎉🎉🎉
🎉🎉 Hi Chris, I would have been super shocked to see that squeegee guy in front of your view. LoL lucky you were leaving….I noticed that trend in prior vids where you utilize the clown 🤡 theme which is why I love ❤️ more and you are super quick with your hand to lay down our sketches with the block in…. I wondered if you were in the theme of the clown as your website portfolios suggest
it's possible that i will! i'll be attending more conventions going forward and will be making prints and stickers for those events, so I'll figure out a way to stock them on my online store as well when the time comes :) thank you so much for the support!!
i am using a phone with a stand! i figure it's okay since i film mostly downwards at my table and if people do end up in the shot I try my best to blur them so their faces aren't identifiable..!
I love your art and these cafe sessions. The hand motion between strokes, does this have a purpose, like are you rotating the pen or relaxing the muscles? Or is it just a habit? I'm just curious 😊
Hi! Love the video, another great one! But I think you left your email visible at one point, after minute 21. I don’t know if it’s a public email, so thought you’d like to know.
I can see that! people there were mostly working on their laptops so it wasn't, like, an "inviting" kind of vibe as you walk in lol but it certainly gets a lot of patrons from what I could tell! Working there was a bit tough since there isn't a ton of seating and it's a bit exposed. But i appreciated the wifi and working-vibe
That’s a nice little cafe to work in… they are all over Montreal. So sad to hear another person hit their head on the Glass ceiling that all designers but a few hit when in Canada’s animation and video game industry. I retired a while ago after 30 years, and 5 plus Major studios. Never worked on the west coast…$$$$$$. I am happy to see your art, cheerful and whimsical. Disney was fun, but not the greatest place to work said most of my friends… so I worked in Disney Work Epcot instead!
I really like this series! It’s relaxing to watch. Love how you did the stripes on your characters as well! :D You mentioned the Stabilo pens tend to make you draw faster than you would with ball point pens, is that because it’s harder to render with them?
I think that's because they flow faster than ballpoint pens. The ink goes down instantly with any contact and bleeds for as long as that contact lasts (time frame).. as apposed to ballpoint pens where you have to actually press it down to control the line weight, and also would give you extra time to think/hesitate with the pen pressed on the paper before it starts leaking
Great series - I'm a bit surprised I don't see others with similar formats, then again I know a lot of artists that hate drawing in public places.
I’ve wanted yes to for ages but thought people prefer quick cuts and talking on videos but showing the art caption is easier for me , have a couple filmed ready to edit (2 hours of footage!)

That's so cool!!
❤❤❤❤❤ yay, I love this series 🥰
this is so relaxing, I wish I had the confidence to draw in a busy cafe like this 🥺🥺
It's not the drawing part for me but the taking out of the camera and tripod to record in a public cafe 😅
haha yep that's exactly it🤪
@@GladysHunnamyep same probs my have more interest thanks thing bad but still tricky 😂
I love this type of videos, it's such a shame that it's so underrated. but I just hope that you won't stop posting these
Your faces are very likable and unique looking, which is rare nowadays.
Thanks for sharing your process it helps me relax into my drawing too.
Beautiful drawings! I also checked out the sponsor and their reference packs look so good! I am going to get some of them to use in my art

I love you so much pls upload more in the future if you can thank you 😊
Favorite series 🫶
I missed you! love these videos, thank you for them!
With both you and Cosmic Spectrum doing the same references, it’s cool to see you each interpret them in your own way.
These are all so pretty! I love the coloring so much!

Loved it! Some time ago, I used to study with you using your ref videos to practice 1 time per day, feeling inspired to try to get back to it! 🤍

I love this series sm❤ can I join you 1 day haha🎉
Hi Chris! Will you be selling prints and stickers again? Already have your book😊. Your art it truly beautiful!

I've always wondered if they allow you to set up a camera with a tripod in their cafe or if you are using a phone with a stand?
i am using a phone with a stand! i figure it's okay since i film mostly downwards at my table and if people do end up in the shot I try my best to blur them so their faces aren't identifiable..!
very nice, yas i love it, thank you 🤍😍😘

they are both public! thank you for your concern though :)
That Cream Drop looks amazingly good! What was the overall experience like? The cafe itself looks so sterile and unwelcoming for a popular spot.

Lovely video! Are you by chance familiar with the artist Victor Nizovtsev? I feel like you would really enjoy his work 😊
What kind of table holder for your phone are you using?
