One of my favorite songs by En Vogue! Its so edgy but has a great message to it and I love the unique blend of R&B and heavy metal! En Vogue are legends they were all beautiful, immensely talented and gave us so many classic songs throughout the '90s! We will never have another era of R&B as good as the '90s ever again!
These badass women inspired me way back when i was 18, to be proud and stand for what I am. Trailblazers, and such sophisticated talents. This song stands the test of time brilliantly too. Listen to the frightfully smooth rock, R&B n hiphop blend. En Vogue then...en vogue now.
There was not a single girl group that made a name for themselves and stayed true as En Vogue! From the day they exploded onto the scene right up until today they are everything that the name 'Vogue' stands for. They never wavered left or right. Incredible group I will always be forever grateful to have lived in an era graced by their regal beauty and powerhouse vocals.
Everything you said. I still don't understand how they've never won a grammy and yet several people with not even a fraction of their talent have one -___-
God I hope newer generations discover these badass queens. They have such beautiful voices and are stunning. Not only that but they had purpose in their lyrics as well. I am so glad I grew up in the 90s listening to them and admiring them. They are amazing
Also one of the few groups where every woman could sing, and every one sang lead on at least one hit. They had untouchable harmonies and individual vocals, as well as cutting edge style and videos
A great classic by En Vogue and probably their best music video, it was ahead of its time, fashion-forward thinking and considering it's Black Female Artists kicking ass with rock! They won 3 MTV Music Video Awards for this video, Best R&B Video, Best Dance Video and Best Choreography In A Video. Well deserved.

I decided to refresh my memory with En Vogue. I remember my parents got this sick stereo system for the living room and always bought the latest tapes. En Vogue is just it. All of it. This song gave me goosebumps just like it did in the 90s.
I would like to point out here is yes alot of white people are asshats. But not all of us are the same. I for one frown at the asshats and it makes me hate being white. I am disgusted by racism and discrimination, I still do not know why in 2016 this still exists.
This is what classy women look and act like. Sexy not slutty. Talented beyond belief. Friggin LOVE En Vogue and have since 1990 when I first saw them. I am 42 now and still rock their cds. Yes...cds. Played on a actual boom box. No streaming downloading for me 😛
I love everything about this video! The costumes, hair, makeup, choreography, the song, the vocals, etc. etc. etc. This is one of those videos that have absolutely no imperfections. (Side note: those women worked the hell out of that runway.)
The video direction is awesome too... The original video had more close ups of the taxidermy animals with all kind of weird pins and other stuff in them.
The lyrics and the micro and blatant aggressions I will never forget from hearing this song in the the 90’s. It made me think. “I can’t change your mind. You can’t change my color.” Profound. I Love En Vogue, forever and always!
That's not even really my genre of music, but I totally geek out every time I hear it! This came out when I was in Jr High and it brings back wonderful memories!
I was 14 when this came out, I just didn't get it. I just saw beautiful women singing very well but that's it. Now that I'm 37, I can appreciate for that and the beautiful massage it they were saying.

It's amazing how music from almost 15 years ago can still apply to today's society, 100%. It's also kind of sad that people even had to make these sort of statements, then AND now. But, what are you gonna do? People will always be shallow and ignorant, unfortunately. Thankfully, though, now people aren't afraid to speak out and be strong. So not only is this song the fucking jam, it's also incredibly powerful and positive. Man, the 90's were fuckin iconic
So you're on a rant about people's prejudice while you have a screen name about boinking dead people? Sometimes stereotypes are true, that is how they become known as stereotypes. Is it fair to paint everyone that fits the description HAS one of the idiots? No, of course not. But it's human nature to do so.
Super.Chuck First of all, not sure what you're getting your panties in a twist for. I didn't say anything about a stereotype, I was just saying how this music is empowering and how it's unfortunate that some of the prejudice and ignorance is still happening today??? Not sure what's wrong with me saying that & also don't care. And secondly, you really need to get your facts straight, my dude. *Necrophilia* is when you commit sexual acts on a dead body. *Necromancy* is basically calling upon spirits and talking to the dead. But either way, thanks for your opinion? And regardless, have a great day👌

@@alansands256 I was about to say the same thing haha. Yeah race relations were a lot better in the 90's. We've regressed in the past 10 years for sure due to 'wokeness'. Hell everything was better back then, better music too lol.
@@alansands256 It's because they are taking Color-Blind literally when it's not supposed to be. It's a metaphor. Gen X has always always been about embracing individuality and differences; so we got it. I agree! We have gone in reverse not just 10 years but decades.
This needs to be the anthem of 2021
It was the anthem then as well.
Ya. Fo real though.
Yup. Yup. Yup.
Yea same rascist puppets still run the media
Agreed!
No foul language, just a powerful message by four gorgeous, beautiful women.
Who can actually sangggggggggggggggggggg!
You said it best, Rodrigo!
Lyrics are STILL REVELEVANT TODAY! I loved this song as a kid and still do. Powerful and just EVERYTHING.
I still don't understand how they've never won a grammy and yet several people with not even a fraction of their talent have one -___-
avilik13 I say that all the time, on vocals alone there far superior to any other girl group.
The best part is they are real women
I'm 20 and my mom played a lot of 80s and 90s music, En Vogue being one of her favorites. This song is one of my all time favorites
I'm 28 and my mom used to play stuff like this all the time I love it
Old school
Can we all agree how iconic this song is. En Vogue don’t the props they deserve. They had the whole package
Underrated song of empowerment
Real artist, real voices, real divas!!
Still listening in 2024! The song is still relevant today.
Envogue is the ORIGINAL Destiny's Child! I was a teenager when this song topped the charts... love, love, love. Thank you for all the amazing music. REAL empowerment comes from hard work and dedication! Envouge is the epitome of that.🥰😘😘😘👍💋❤💋❤
Destiny's Child dont hold a Candle to them as a group..not even close.
@@Obkool27 right !!
"Why oh why must it be this way?".... Powerful question that we are still asking today....
It makes a hell of a lot of money for to many people.
been asking that for hundreds of years. still no answer
You do know a lot of the questions/ statements in this song were directed at the black community right?
@@jamesodom6456 A couple of the lyrics can. Not all.
@@123terricam did you live hundreds of years wow i have so many questions.
I was in college when this came out and this anthem still rocks to this day. The voices, message and fashion were ahead of its time.
I decided to refresh my memory with En Vogue. I remember my parents got this sick stereo system for the living room and always bought the latest tapes. En Vogue is just it. All of it. This song gave me goosebumps just like it did in the 90s.
They were ahead of their time
They are ahead of this time...
No...unfortunately it just means nothing has changed.
+Just Found tht 2. but it's always sum1 w another opinion thts right
Of course :)
Just Found touché
this song is still relevant today
+SunnehShides Of course. Because bitches are always hating on black people ... but appropriating our shit at the same time. Psycho fucks.
Well people of all races still haven't freed their mind:(
+Eric LifeBreeze first they program u not to hate NOW THEY WANT U TO HATE
I would like to point out here is yes alot of white people are asshats. But not all of us are the same. I for one frown at the asshats and it makes me hate being white. I am disgusted by racism and discrimination, I still do not know why in 2016 this still exists.
+SunnehShides you should not "hate being white" anymore than someone else should hate being their particular race. ALL races have jerks and racists.
One of the most epic hits of the '90s
This is what classy women look and act like. Sexy not slutty. Talented beyond belief. Friggin LOVE En Vogue and have since 1990 when I first saw them. I am 42 now and still rock their cds. Yes...cds. Played on a actual boom box. No streaming downloading for me 😛
I first saw En Vogue in about 1992. I think. I'm 72 years old, and I love them!!
LOVED it when you said "no streaming downloading for me"! ✌

😄👍🤗💜
This song demands to be played at max volume....vocals so gooood
There is an alternative version as well with different lyrics and takes of video. Too bad these videos are only 360p. FYM deserves better.
ö
2018 and this still kick 95% of newest songs... No surprise at all.
Damn, I wish I had a large stereo to blast this on right now . . .
Still the sexiest and most kick ass video ever made.
SEXIEST
So hot 💥
no one makes music like this anymore.... such a powerful message
Pat Cleveland would be impressed ❣️
Let's not forget those lyrics too. Their message was always uplifting
@@HermitBratt If only the kids today!
Afrofuturism?
The lyrics and the micro and blatant aggressions I will never forget from hearing this song in the the 90’s. It made me think. “I can’t change your mind. You can’t change my color.” Profound. I Love En Vogue, forever and always!
They where all so beautiful and talented 😮
STILL!!! SO PERFECTLY RELEVANT! Most kickass lyrics, and vocals and harmonies.
So beyond ahead of the times ❤️❤️❤️
Words cannot describe how much I miss the 1990s.
ME TOO
the 90s was the best decade of music
story of my life.
+cance7984 Agreed. latter half of the 80's into the 90's was the best time for music.
Love your comment. I was 8 when this song came out and my older sister used to play it on the old school music channel "The Box" and I loved these beautiful women ever since. Loved this song then and I love it now.
omg the BOX! ahhhh yes!!!
+Hannah Evans I love and agree with your comment, too, and I was also 8 years old when this came out.☺ It's incredible how fitting these lyrics are today.
You got a beautiful massage from the ladies of En Vogue? So jealous!
i totally agree didn't get it then but i do now👍
More black artists should do rock. It sounds powerful
Black artists created rock!
Listen to some old school black rockers or some early punk rock pioneers. If you like a bit of edge listen to Bad Brains and the band called Death. Want more mainstream listen to Janet Jackson's Black Cat which she wrote and produced herself or obviously the most iconic star of all time Michael Jackson. Listen to his soong give in to me featuring Slash or the classic Dirty Diana.
@@nag8649 - Yes MA'AM! Damn good recommendations! If I could just add one to your list - Living Color!!! (Not the show, the rock band.) Here's a link to one of my favorite songs of theirs - it rocks. HARD. th-cam.com/video/7xxgRUyzgs0/w-d-xo.html 🤘
@@KelleyBroussardMackaig I absolutely agree. I love that band! Have you listened to glamour boys by Living Colour? Ugh I could go on and on
@@nag8649 Yaaaaas!!!! 🤘 LOVE it! You and I have the same taste my friend!!! 🤘
Man, the 90's were fuckin iconic
to make your point even more dramatic: this song is actually over 20 years old :0
And to make the point even more dramatic still: this song is, at this point in time (Oct. '16), almost 25 years old! Yup!
La la la not listening I'm still in my 20's blah blah blah :D

Especially the Colorblind part. As many now consider THAT racist.
