Perhaps one of the best songs describing the beauty of a flawed existence. Only once you are married or a woman in her mid-30's does this song really start to make sense. I'm happily married and my wife is all of these things, and absolutely love her for it. She's 100% authentically her own self. Life gets complicated as you age. Learn to embrace it. It's all about how you respond, and has never been about being perfect. Humans are beautiful.
I'm actually in this video. I'm the skateboarder "floating" in the air around 1:46 - 1:48. I was actually hooked onto a cable that was edited out in the final process of the video, and they hooked the board onto my feet so it would stay attached in the shot. I'm also in a few other shots as well towards the end. I was 15 years old at the time who was a Sophomore in High School, and my mom was great friends with the producer who pitched the idea that I make an appearance in the video as an extra which I was psyched about knowing I was gonna be in a music video. The shooting began around the Spring of 97', and my parts on camera took about a day to shoot. Afterwards, it gave me goosebumps how successful it became, and later how it's nostalgic when people recollect their memories from the 90's as do I. I didn't officially meet Meredith until after its success. Very talented woman.
I was watching as I was reading your post and so I got to see you directly after - perfect timing for me and great story to have and that looked hella fun
Awesome to stuntman levels! You made it look futuristic, really cool in the early days of the Internet, and CGI animation/video editing software! Ahead of the times!
@Corn Fed This song came out in the 90's and was apart of the 90's generation. Boomers need to stop taking credit for shit they didn't create. Listen to ANY 60's generation song, the 60's and 90's do not sound the same at all.
Corn Fed ... Not stop baby. Stop, children; Stop, hey; Stop, now. Those three versions of the first words of the chorus alternated through the song. One of my favorites from the beginning.

One of the coolest strongest songs ever. Once happily intimidated by the lyrics. Now, I love the perfect power and appreciate them on a new level. I’m just a guy who craves self evaluation. With love. Right on Meredith
Amen. 💯. She nailed it. In many ways, this song is the testimonial of truth you experience when you hit middle-age. Know who you are. Zero apologies, zero fucks given if you have your integrity.
Yes. I remember I used to watch VH1 and they were playing alternative music constantly. This video, Natalie Imbruglia's Torn, and The Verve's Bittersweet Symphony were the alternative videos constantly playing in the 90s and any time I see one of them again, I'm transported to the 90s.
I think people forget what a HUGE hit this was in the summer of 1997! She jumped on the bandwagon of Alternative Rock Women that Alanis Morissette paved the way for. What is ironic is that people always mistakenly think that Alanis Morissette sang this song because Alanis was the biggest music star on the planet for a good while. I love this song, I hope Meredith Brooks laughed all the way to the bank with it. She struck while the iron was hot! I highly recommend the song "Wash My Hands" by Meredith Brooks & listen to the opening sample before the guitar chords begin! What an awesome way to open a song! Much love from Omaha, Nebraska!
really never mistook meredith for Alanis , this was a massive banger in 1997 and this vid was in high rotation on mtv , thing is bitch was her only hit making her a one hit wonder of sorts
11/2024-I had to stop by to listen to this song. My friend recently passed away of cancer and the last time I saw him was Labor Day weekend. While we were out driving he popped this cd in and we sang it at the top of our lungs , just like we had when it first came out. This was the last song, the last time we sang together, and with the windows rolled down; just like we were back in our 20s again. He really loved this song. Thank you
Oh, Love from France. Music has this special power to make us remember episodes of life, happy or not, with people we love(d) or not. Trust me, take the time to say "keep the faith" to your family and friends and that they count, and that you love everyone of them ❤ Peace
Amazing but so sorry for your loss. I live with inoperable stage 4 lung cancer for 10 miracle years. I can tell you that his pain from cancer is a huge relief from passing. It sucks but he really is looking over you. Everything happens for a reason. ❤❤❤
This is the last song my mother and I sang together at a karaoke party before she passed away in 2013. This song will always bring back good memories of her because it was one of her favorites. I love you Mom.
@@lidu6363 k ... and? the song is great non the less are you that insecure that a song portraying a strong/independant woman schackle you? and the comment was not about that all but was reflecting of a time when you had only music on mtv for the huge majority wich is thrue btw
I don't understand what the commenters reacting to me were getting at. There has always been some sort of agenda, just because we tend to forget doesn't mean it wasn't there.
When my late Wife heard this song for the first time, she took it as her theme tune (everyone should have their own theme tune, don't you think) as she thought it described her down to a tee. Watching this again helped me remember all of the great times, and the sad, but still one hell of a song. Thank you.

i am 16 years old. my mom showed me this song years ago. its always been one of her favorite songs, and i ended up loving it too. we always played it in the car together. 2 weeks ago she had a heart attack, and has been in a coma ever since. a few days ago, i received the news that she isn’t going to survive, and that she will pass away. yesterday i went in to talk to her for the last time even though she couldn’t respond to me. i made a playlist of her favorite songs, and out of all of them, i picked this one. i played it for her one last time. as i listened to it, the lyrics almost felt like a direct response from my mom to me, and i completely broke down. this song will hold a special place in my heart forever. i love you mom. thank you for reading (ps: thank you all for your support. it means everything to me. but i feel like it’s worth noting that i’m a boy 😂 everybody keeps calling me “babygirl” in the replies
I believe that your mom heard this amazing song one last time, and that she knew you were there with her. I am so sorry for the pain you are feeling, as losing a mother is so incredibly difficult...there are no words.
“I’m a goddess on my knees...” that can be taken in sooo many different ways to explain or talk about soooo many situations. This is us women to the max. This song is everything. Gospel ♥️
I'm 62 and it just makes more and more sense to me. LOVE this song: reflects hundreds of years of feminism--Wollstonecraft, Woolf, etc..................
Back in '97, I remember being completely hammered with a bunch of really great friends in an awesome little bar at closing time, singing this song at the top of our lungs. it was one of those spontaneous moments that still makes me smile all these years later. 25 years later, I just don't have moments, or friends, like that any more.
Thanks for the smile. I was only 11 when it came out, but me and my lil cousin would sing at the top of our lungs. We had a rough life and related to the song a little top much😂❤
But also: When you hurt - when you suffer, I'm your angel undercover. That is how strong people (girls) are. Respect our freedom - and we will do everything for you. Just don't force us. xx
I was a child singing this song and now im 32 with 2 kids and I relate to this song. Just the memories of my mom playing this song growing up. May God bless your soul mom 7/17/2005 going on 19 years without you
So true lol I would be watch mtv or vh1 and be pissed when she’d hit #1 over Hanson’s “mmmbop”... I can relate to both but undertanding this song now at 33, ahh makes so much more sense 😂
And this is why Men should stop enabling women and let them sink with their dysfunctions. It was a good song to listen to but now it is the mantra of foolish women who practice no self control. Yes we men WOULD want you a different way. Grounded. Rational. Sane. Believe this song is gospel and something to live by and you are admitting you're not worth anyone's time.
yep, menopause turns really fun women into bitter, miserable and insufferable pains in the asses. this is why so many cultures allowed multiple wives, i am convinced of it lol
This is on my Emotional Rescue Playlist. Listened today and realized I was making some decisions that would be self-betrayal. Decided to rethink them. This song helped and I am grateful for that.
@@grayfox4239 I am! Listening to this tune was part of a meandering path which led me to deciding, age 64, to love myself the way I love others instead of loathing myself for being imperfect. My loved ones rejoice my new choice and affectionately say "We TOLD you so!"
recently my mom passed away. i was given the news of her passing on august 17th. she wasnt my bio mom, or legal mom, but she took it upon herself to play the mother role in my life. she was only 33, and would have been 34 on dec 6th. she left behind a 4 year old little boy, and me, a 17 year old girl. i remember, just a few weeks before she passed, i played this song in her truck as she drove me home, and of course, she knew it. she said it was her anthem. both her and i felt this song related to us, and described us in a sense. i think of her whenever i hear this song, now. rest in peace, Katie Bug. i love you, and i miss you. ♡♡♡♡
@@pauljordan4452 I think being the pope at 38 would be incredibly fascinating (that’s what it translated to)! And it’s also great for him that he’s a father! No need to burst people bubbles for no reason.
@@MamaMOB Hold on. I speak Spanish and Papa is also dad. I'm autistic, grew up with adults and see a woman as a human and a companion, not a temporary sexual partner. So most females my age turned out to be unsuitable in any case, and I'm celibate. I'm 38. Being a grandpa at this age would be remarkable, wouldn't it?
This song is the reason I do not feel ashamed for what I am. Thank you for teaching me to embrace me. No adult in my life could do that. I'm only now realizing what you did for me. You're amazing. It's 2021. I'm still appreciative.
As a 34 year old man I still feel I can relate to this song. When I think of the 90s this is always at the front of my mind. Side note, a woman writing her own song, playing her own instruments? Don’t see that too much these days. She was really talented, it’s too bad she didn’t get any recognition after this.
5 days ago this was played at my mum's funeral. 54 and died of a heart attack. To be true to my mum, since she always sang along to this song as much as she used to play this when i was in my teens - I sang along at her funeral. Christ the pain is like nothing else.
this story is eerily similar to my experience. i understand exactly how you’re feeling. it’s been 8 months for me and i still can’t fully process it. it doesn’t even feel real.
@@zay4080 I'm sorry for your loss too. My husband lost his father in the same way 9 years ago. Again, to a heart attack. Both died the same way. Stood up and went down instantly. I now see why they say heart attacks are the number one killer in the world. My grandad died of a heart attack waiting in line at the post office. I'm so sorry to you losing your parent. I never realised just how painful it was for my husband to lose his father until i lost my mum. I knew it was tough, but until it happened to me, i didn't realise just how bad it could hurt. My father was a broken man at the funeral. 40 years of marriage. December was their anniversary. I'm here again because this is my first Christmas without my mum. It's also still so fresh that she's gone. I feel so sick every time i see people celebrating Christmas right now. Torn between grief and happiness. She loved Christmas, and i want to celebrate it for her. But at the same time she's not here to celebrate it. I will never forgive the way she was taken. Tories can burn in Hell for what they've done to the NHS. When she needed help they failed her in the most basic of ways. She waited 40 minutes for an ambulance and died for it. By the time they attended, she was well gone. They told my sister to run to the nearest police station and get the defib machine - Despite her not being authorised or trained to use it. If she had lived she'd have torn them a new A-Hole. She worked with Teachers union fighting for teacher's rights and had visited parliament several times. RIP mum. 💔
Not sure when exactly this was posted, but i recently lost my dad. I have listened to this song a lot since then, trying to draw strength and just be who i am, grieve how I want, and love like I will never be hurt again. You are right about the pain. My dad was 72, and I got so many blessed years with him, but the pain. Ooh, that is worse than childbirth 10x over, because there is no end in sight.
Being a kid in the 90s, I couldn’t wait to be an adult in the 2000s Now that I’m an adult in the 2000s, I wish I could go back to being a kid in the 90s Edit: I’m not changing it to “2020s”. We’re in the 2000s. Suck it
90s was a magical period, and I’m happy I was able to be a child during a time of such freedom and creativity. I miss those days so much and I’d love to visit so badly
nah, I was 23 when this song was released, wasn't much different than today, but not something I'd want to do all over again. always go forward, never backwards
Man, I can remember singing this at the top of my lungs in my bedroom mirror when I was 13/14 and having no clue what life had in store for me. Now, after three kids and about 24 years later, and a whole life of experiences, I can say that I truly connected with this song so long ago for a reason. Wishing Meredith would go on tour one last time so I could see her live
I can relate to every word u said from the singing as a kid to having 3 kids myself I'm 34 now and I FINALLY GET THIS SONG it's so crazy how the older you get the more you connect.
I am Indian. And this song brings back to my childhood memories. Living in a hard-core patriarchal society, seeing women socially conditioned to "behave" themselves, this song was a relief. It was like "Thank God someone understood"!

miss the 90s. i miss music that had depth, meaning, emotion. a lot on the radio today sounds the same. music was the best in the 90s, in all genres. now it's rare to hear a guitar solo in any song
Its true people rather take the quick make money approach. If people can make crap music and get away with it they will. Its a genre of fans for that lol
I grow-up listening to the 90's music. I miss those days but I am glad I, got to experience to experience growing up in the 90's era. Best memories of my life!!!.
After every single thing that i have been put through, this song really hit. Been dealing with a whole lot of fake. Time to just walk away. I have had enough of everyone and i mean everyone👀
This song always resonated with me in every phase of my life as a woman and now that I've learned today is Meredith's birthday and we're both Gemini it hits home even more so! Happy Birthday beautiful!
This song is so spot on... It describes a narcissistic sociopathic female. It describes the girl that broke my heart by lying and cheating on me. She cannot be fixed, and just like the lyrics say... she doesn't want to be fixed. This song describes Jessica, the girl I'm in love with, so perfectly. I now see it, and can't wait to be free from her grip. Trust me, this song is brilliant.
Not really, it's a good song but "brilliant" is a generous word to use. This song is about a woman who doesn't know how to process her emotions and flips out randomly. There's no deeper meaning here.
This is amazing song. It gives you the message to embrace all aspects of your identity as a human being, consider it all important to your personhood, and don't be ashamed of it. This song will always live on.
Meredith is a genius♥♥ Always loved this track: from the very 1st line & as it continues, it points out her black and white polarity wrt the world's social environment. Beautiful work♥♥
I'm in my 50s, I've really liked this song for more than 25 years. Only recently did I finally get what this song really means. My wife has a disability that leaves her in a lot of physical pain. One of her aunts died last week. Both of my wife's parents are battling illnesses, and they probably won't live much longer. She is feeling so many overwhelming emotions and fears right now. She is my world, and right now I have to be a stronger man than I've ever been. I'm afraid I won't be able to do that, but I know I have to. I have to for her.
Stay strong. We're at an age now, where we lose our loved ones. I lost my Dad three years ago, he was 83. Not really easy, because there are fewer people to fall back on. It hits differently, when I actually read, that a song is 25+ years old, because it makes me feel twice older -my real age - than the age I feel myself to be in. This song is now 27 years old, as it was released on 25 March 1997. (posted on 24.03.2024)
UKE, Any Bad Name Only Has the Impact & Definition You Give It!!! Ussually Name callers are Only Proving how Immature & Insecure they are To Belittle some-one else To make themselves FEEL Superior.
This song really makes me feel old. Brings back so many memories of the 90s. No internet really. No cell phones. No camera on every inch of the Earth. I was 13 when this song came out, and now sitting at 38 thinking... all the lost loved ones. All the classmates you've never seen again. All the fun we used to have actually socializing and going to events to talk to people. Just felt so much more free for lack of a better word. Where did 25 years go?
AsSalam Alaikum, Peace and blessings upon creatures of God, dogs and bitches, they also have souls, however, we mankind children of Adam are not dogs and bitches, we are brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters. Blessings of God be upon all brothers and sisters, please read the message of your brother. There is no god (ilah) but God (Allah) and Muhammad (sws) is a servant and messenger of God. God is just One, there is no such thing like Jewish God, Christian God, Hindu God, Sikh God etc. It is quite logical, suppose a Jewish girl marries a Hindu man and their baby is born, then who created that baby. Was the baby created by Jewish God or was the baby created by Hindu God. This proves God is One and the baby was created by God who created all babies. Thank you, your reward is with God only. Please let me share few words about God. Say, He God is One. Uniquely One. (Not like as Trinitarian tells you. 3 in 1 and 1 in 3) All are in need of God, but God is not in need of anything or anyone. He does not have children (i.e. no minor gods) nor He is born. (i.e. He alone is God). None is comparable to Him. Nothing is like Him. Quran (Purity) Chapter 112
(I love this song, it gives me hope for the future) I’m a man, I’m a lover, I’m son, I’m a father, I’m a sinner, I’m a saint, why should I feel ashamed.
@therespectedlex9794 Really? How old are you? Been to war? Lose a best friend who died in your arms? Ever died? My last time was in the fall of 2022. With all that I've been through and all that I've done, I feel I've earned the right to tell the truth about my life. When you've reached my age, you'll likely feel the same. In the meantime, I'll be more than happy to be respectful of your comments without being disrespectful of them irrespective of your point of view. Be safe, be well, and most importantly, be happy.
It doesn't matter if your a male or female, I think this song speaks to all of us. Sometimes when the world seems to be crashing down around you and you have to make a choice we are all bitches who must demand better. Stand up for your rights as a human before you lose all.
As a man, i so miss the days of genuinely empowered woman. This song represents it so well. Explains all the many facets of a real woman, and sums it up with " dont try and save me!". ❤
This Meredith Brooks-aged woman would love to meet you two 32-year old men who love this lyric. Not in a creepy way, just in a “that’s SO refreshing” way!
This is one of many songs from the '90s I will always remember so vividly, because I remember I had just turned 7 years old right around when this song released in May 1997. My mother and me were out driving somewhere, she then turns the radio to the rock station and the DJ announces here's a "New singles hit by Meredith Brooks". I remember my mom being so blown away by the song she went out and bought the album the next day at Wal-Mart and probably played it about 100+ times throughout the summer. Something I'll never forget.
Meredith Brooks is a very wild but outstanding performer, can't believe she's almost 60,really?She looks a little like Juliette Lewis .She's about everything in the lyrics.Very confusing though. If I met her in person,I would tell her she's a beautiful lady and then ask if she's a sinner,a saint or both.Stay beautiful Ms.Brooks.Bye.
Such song only came out once in a decade. What a riff 🎸🎛 A 'scandalous' on its own, back then! She made an impact with the song. It is iconic - though in Asia I used to hear the announcer on radio was renaming it 'Nothing in Between' 💥 Utter masterpiece.
The 90s certainly saw inspirational advances in the Women’s Movement. Ms Brookes really cheered on women, comparable to Sophie B Hawkins, Edie Brickell, Sarah McLachlan, and Natalie Merchant. I count myself as blessed to have enjoyed them all during college, and reminisce with a smile. I hope to share this music with my female grandkids!🤞🏼🙏🏼
as a dude that fucking loves this song, you should try listening to this as human being. Lyrics go for both genders, and I'll always sing with her intensity, damn those around me
Meredith proved that if you're gonna be a one hit wonder, make it count! She really got her one hit right! It stands the test of time

I hate the world today
You're so good to me
I know but I can't change
Tried to tell you
But you look at me like maybe
I'm an angel underneath
Innocent and sweet
Yesterday I cried
Must have been relieved to see
The softer side
I can understand how you'd be so confused
I don't envy you
I'm a little bit of everything
All rolled into one
I'm a bitch, I'm a lover
I'm a child, I'm a mother
I'm a sinner, I'm a saint
I do not feel ashamed
I'm your hell, I'm your dream
I'm nothing in between
You know you wouldn't want it any other way
So take me as I am
This may mean
You'll have to be a stronger man
Rest assured that
When I start to make you nervous
And I'm going to extremes
Tomorrow I will change

Yes. I remember I used to watch VH1 and they were playing alternative music constantly. This video, Natalie Imbruglia's Torn, and The Verve's Bittersweet Symphony were the alternative videos constantly playing in the 90s and any time I see one of them again, I'm transported to the 90s.
I wish I were a kid in the 90's...just glad I was in my 20's and saw some awesome live music in small clubs. ;-)
I was in my 30's in the 90's. I loved this song.
I miss the times and the memories from the 90's....things have drastically changed!

Thank you

When my late Wife heard this song for the first time, she took it as her theme tune (everyone should have their own theme tune, don't you think) as she thought it described her down to a tee. Lyrics
I hate the world today
You're so good to me
I know but I can't change
Tried to tell you
But you look at me like maybe
I'm an angel underneath
Innocent and sweet
Yesterday I cried
You must have been relieved
To see the softer side
I can understand how you'd be so confused
I don't envy you
I'm a little bit of everything
All rolled into one
I'm a bitch
I'm a lover
I'm a child
I'm a mother
I'm a sinner
I'm a saint
And I do not feel ashamed
I'm your hell
I'm your dream
I'm nothing in between
You know you wouldn't want it any other way
So take me as I am
This may mean you'll have to be a stronger man
Rest assured that when I start to make you nervous
And I'm going to extremes
Tomorrow I will change
And today won't mean a thing
I'm a bitch
I'm a lover
I'm a child
I'm a mother
I'm a sinner
I'm a saint
And I do not feel ashamed
I'm your hell
I'm your dream

i am 16 years old. my mom showed me this song years ago. its always been one of her favorite songs, and i ended up loving it too. we always played it in the car together. 2 weeks ago she had a heart attack, and has been in a coma ever since. a few days ago, i received the news that she isn’t going to survive, and that she will pass away. yesterday i went in to talk to her for the last time even though she couldn’t respond to me. i made a playlist of her favorite songs, and out of all of them, i picked this one. i played it for her one last time. as i listened to it, the lyrics almost felt like a direct response from my mom to me, and i completely broke down. this song will hold a special place in my heart forever. i love you mom.

recently my mom passed away. i was given the news of her passing on august 17th. she wasnt my bio mom, or legal mom, but she took it upon herself to play the mother role in my life. she was only 33, and would have been 34 on dec 6th. she left behind a 4 year old little boy, and me, a 17 year old girl.
i remember, just a few weeks before she passed, i played this song in her truck as she drove me home, and of course, she knew it. she said it was her anthem. both her and i felt this song related to us, and described us in a sense. i think of her whenever i hear this song, now.

RIP mum. 💔

This song will always live on.
i hear you brother
Perfectly said
One should also embrace the consequences that can come with it if some aspects are bothering everyone else.
That is true 😃😃🇩🇪
Amen!!! We are only human. Yin and Yang
This is so beautiful and relatable. 💜
Really a special song.
I’m a 90’s baby and this will forever be my theme song ♥️🔥🙌🏼
37 and I FINALLY understand.... *right in the childhood*
Met my girlfriend when this song first released, she absolutely loved it. Still loves it today as my wife.
She a bitch?
You can be with the love and emotion I just read
@@billyjenh3740 Thank you so much. I really, really needed to hear this right now.

I never get offended whenever I'm called a Bitch. This song is the reason why. Thanks, Meredith. ❤
I say THANKS!! If I'm extra sassy .... Glad you noticed
UKE, Any Bad Name Only Has the Impact & Definition You Give It!!! Ussually Name callers are Only Proving how Immature & Insecure they are To Belittle some-one else To make themselves FEEL Superior.
I proudly accept that label.,.
@MindShock lol mad cause you're old 😘
Yup, just happened and I didn’t even flinch 🖤✊
2020 still rockin this song!
Same I heard it on Sirius XM 90s on 9 yesterday so I had to come see the video and it looked exactly how it sounded, 90s asf 😂
Hells yeah 👍
🤘
Hell yeah! :)
It's pretty damn catchy.
God bless you 90's kids one and all.
I love this song, but wow 25 yrs I feel so old.
Feeling not old, but mature. In 3 months turning into 40.. where are my 20????)
@@kristinwood8884 Not as old as Meredith, but I bet they've still got it.
@@therespectedlex9794 Me too. I sometimes miss the time before all the tech, I'm so happy I experienced dating and relationships in person. 🤷♀️
Rediscovering this song at 40, so many memories, and it does hit different now as others have said. oh yes. love it
This song will never ever go away, and it will always stay relevant.
3 in 1 and 1 in 3)
All are in need of God, but God is not in need of anything or anyone.
He does not have children (i.e. no minor gods) nor He is born. (i.e. He alone is God).
None is comparable to Him. Nothing is like Him.
Quran (Purity) Chapter 112
(I love this song, it gives me hope for the future)
I’m a man, I’m a lover, I’m son, I’m a father, I’m a sinner, I’m a saint, why should I feel ashamed.
I haven't listened to this song in forever and the lyrics came back to me like it was yesterday. 2024 we are all here.
I love Meredith Brooks as much today as I did when I was 35 when this came out. She still rocks! Love you Meredith!
As an antifeminist, men's rights advocate I appreciate their bastardy.
I was 35 too!
@@kiasax2 people who boast off topic as much as you do probably don't even like sex
@@kiasax2 the detail you're given there is a bit too personal and private if not chauvinist
It doesn't matter if your a male or female, I think this song speaks to all of us. Sometimes when the world seems to be crashing down around you and you have to make a choice we are all bitches who must demand better. Stand up for your rights as a human before you lose all.
Amen!
It matters if you're male or female (or anything in between or beyond) ❤
As a man, i so miss the days of genuinely empowered woman. This song represents it so well. Explains all the many facets of a real woman, and sums it up with " dont try and save me!". ❤
Yes sir!!
The only song to ever make me belt out that I'm a goddess on my knees as a straight 32 year old man 💀
Amen to that!
Hey, it's a talent. Own it.
😂😅😊
32 male here too, right with you on this bro 😂
This Meredith Brooks-aged woman would love to meet you two 32-year old men who love this lyric. Not in a creepy way, just in a “that’s SO refreshing” way!
I've loved this woman since the 90's. Beautiful and talented. Still have her cd
good
This is one of many songs from the '90s I will always remember so vividly, because I remember I had just turned 7 years old right around when this song released in May 1997.
I’m gonna play this over and over today! It helps me remember who I am!
Yeah !!!
43 year old male and still a Goddess on my knees. God i miss the 90's. Invent time travel so i can go back home.
Sean Montgomery I was thinking the same thing but couldn't think of her name!
She does look like Juliette Lewis. And sounds like Alanis.
'I hate the world today.' First line in the song, and I feel that.
What a complete song! Lyrics and music so in tune that it's magical. An under rated song for sure, a classic.
Would'nt say its underrated, it was on the radio every day since i was 7 years til i was 17. Real classic fo realz!
@@Mizc33 I didn't know that. thank you. love this song!
One of my favorate song from meredith brooks ! ! ❤
Such song only came out once in a decade. What a riff 🎸🎛 A 'scandalous' on its own, back then! She made an impact with the song. It is iconic - though in Asia I used to hear the announcer on radio was renaming it 'Nothing in Between' 💥 Utter masterpiece.
The perfect confession of the true nature of the female. How refreshing.
Explain please.
Yeah 😀🍷🎉🇩🇪
yeah they
are nuts
First cd I ever bought ❤loved every single track
The 90s certainly saw inspirational advances in the Women’s Movement. Ms Brookes really cheered on women, comparable to Sophie B Hawkins, Edie Brickell, Sarah McLachlan, and Natalie Merchant. I count myself as blessed to have enjoyed them all during college, and reminisce with a smile. I hope to share this music with my female grandkids!🤞🏼🙏🏼
Please don't make it about the women's movement.
as a dude that fucking loves this song, you should try listening to this as human being. Lyrics go for both genders, and I'll always sing with her intensity, damn those around me
