- This amazing run is from the 2002 Iowa State vs. Texas Tech football game.
"On second and 10...Wallace looking for the second option...still looking. Still looking...back to the 30, scrambling...tightropes down inside the 10...lookout! Looking for a block! GETS IT! WALLACE! TOUCHDOWN! INCREDIBLE PLAY!"
The longest 11 yard run in the history of football.
Bo Jackson Tecmo Super Bowl vibes
I was here. Pretty epic to see in person. Ran home and started an ISU dynasty in NCAA football.
That Sounds So Fun
When Wallace entered the NFL, i traded him onto my Detroit Lions Madden franchise and used him like a dollar store Mike Vick based off this play alone
Ncaa 03?
I was in the front row of student section. Craziest play ever.
Gotta get Seneca Wallace on the new cf 25 !ol
The TV does not do the noise justice :The crowd was totally bat shit crazy after that play.
Senaca told me to look this up on YT!
Dope!
Still the greatest run I've seen at the college level. This and Tommy Frazier's reign supreme.
ayyyy you should look up Taylor Martinez run vs wisconsin. Crazy shit ive ever seen
ayyyy you should look up Taylor Martinez run vs wisconsin. Crazy shit ive ever seen
I absolutely LOVED this guy. Every time I'd create my own QB in Madden, I'd name him Seneca Wallace. I hope he's successful climbing the coaching ladder. I'd love to see him back in the NFL.
He my coach
Who else is here from College Gameday?
Same😂
😂😂
Lmaoo dammit 😂😂 same
Yep
Yes😂😂
The block is now a 15 yard blindside penalty
one of the best college football plays ive ever seen live
Most underrated play in college football history. There should be 2 million views.
Not only a great run by Seneca, but also a great block by Michael Wagner. Go State!
Yes, ISU was ranked #11 prior to this game and then #9 after. It was the pinnacle of ISU football over the last 30+ years.
WOW,that was amazing,he ran all the way back to the 34 and ran all the way back to the endzone.Sensational run.
I still remember this run to this day for no reason. Seneca Wallace was a college beast.
0:24 --- Kids: THAT is how you block.
Anthony DeSimone that guys my uncle
I saw a block like that last year it was awesome
Well, not anymore. That gets flagged for a blindside now.
How is it possible Ricky Sailor has given this video so many thumbs down?
Probably a Tech fan. I was there that night. Love Seneca.
I was in the concession line during this play.
Kevin I know this comment was 3 years ago but I would still be pissed
Darrin I know this comment was 1 day ago but I would still be pissed
Ryan Casarez Ik this comment is 2 weeks old but I would still be pissed
Andrew Heffernen I know this comment is 3 weeks old but I would still be pissed
As a Tech grad, I was pissed for having to watch this play
Glad I found this. Saw this play for an entire half year on ESPN. Always thought it was one of the Vick bros. Nice video
how is there not a clear video of this play? It was 2002 not 1954
With new talent every year sometimes it slips our mind how good some players were, and Seneca Wallace was that. So when he reminded me I ran to see "The Run".
When I was watching this game on tv, I was in complete shock and awe of someone making a run like that...and this is after seeing Michael Vick for like 4 years do similar things...the block at 27 seconds is one of the hardest clean blocks ive ever seen in my life!
He does - one of the most athletic players in the NFL.
College gameday brought me here.
I remember watching this game live while in High School.. Seneca Wallace was possibly the 2nd best QB behind Michael Vick that season.. this run was spectacular to say the least
Not many people know this but Holmgren has publicaly stated that it was this run thatgot wallace drafted by the Seahawks.
College gameday brought me here
The game was 3-3 in the 3rd quarter before this play? Dang....
This is back when defense existed
@@darkknightsds back when offense was nonexistent
Yes, Iowa State made it to the top 10 that season. Their next game was at Oklahoma, where they lost 49-3 and Wallace was no longer a Heisman candidate. Graham Harrell can relate.
1:49 "Hey, my nigga"
Yep. We made it all the way to #9 before Seneca fell apart at OU in the rain.
Back when Iowa state was lit
Iowa State has never been "lit." Historically they are one of the worst programs in college football. Even that season they fell apart, losing 6 of their final 7 games including a home loss to UCONN.
PetroFor3 what about now.
What about now?
@@posysdogovych2065 Times have changed lol
@@ThiccGungan If they can do this consistently, it's good for the entire state.
Great play.
Some skill, some luck, alot of good blocking.
Damn ISU hasnt had a season like this in a long time..... Thumbs up if you're from IOWA!!!
Right after this ISU was ranked in the Top 10 was in SI (they had a cool "map" of "the run") then they proceeded to wizz the rest of the season down their leg. People reported a huge dust storm, it was just ESPN tering the he'll out of Ames.
that last block was amazing, if not for that block he might not have gotten a touchdown
holy shit. 2 of the best blocks a runner could ask for.
This video never gets old!
Was my favorite college player, I was 14 watching that
What's more incredible is that Iowa State is not only ranked, but is #11. Unbelievable.
Why cant we get anothery player like Wallace.. What a stud.. So close to the Heisman that year..
i love how after he makes the huge block he just kinda keeps on walking like "Ok i did my job, time to head for the sidelines" lol
That was a fucking great block. Kudos on Seneca Wallace for keeping on his feet too.
i was at that game
Great blocking!
Front row student section!
I was there in the stands. When Wallace made the TD the crowd went crazy!
That's great. Then he played KSU next week and threw two consecutive INT's for TD's to Bobby Walker. That's INT for TD, KOR and then a INT for TD. "Goodbye Heisman" (Keith Jackson voice)
Seneca Wallace's catch in the NFC championship game was a game changer that got the Seahawks to the SB.
Troy Smith is like 3rd string lol
The first time I saw him playing in an NFL preseason game, I knew i liked that kid. This only furthers my point. I think he COULD very well start someday. He's only a second year man I believe. Give him 2 more years. Him, Chris leak, and Troy Smith are gonna be future stars.
Seneca Wallace you are the man.
The greatest part about that block is that after he nailed him, he didn't give a fuck if they scored. He just walked the other way like "I'M A BOSS!"
damn that block was sick...those are the worst ones when u don' t see it coming...I hate recieving them but I love giving them
I'm pretty sure we saw a similar play from Jared Barnett tonight...about five times! Congrats ISU...Barnett is the next Seneca!!!!!!!!
that block was flippin nasty....awesome play...i love football
Idk what it is man, this play for some reason felt like the shift to mobility being the standard for a qb. He was still a few years ahead of his time
GO CLONES!!!! Im from minnesota i grew up watching the gophers so when i moved to iowa it wouldnt be kosher for me to root for the hawkeyes even though living in spirit lake wit a bunch of hawk fans
I met Seneca at the homecoming game yesterday. It was awesome!
ok, that was dope. wallace is a hell of an athlete.
that hit was so vicious that is was freightening.....
sailor NEVER saw it comin'. wow...
Why does that matter? Regardless of the fact that he's STILL collecting a paycheck to play football, how many collegiate stars haven't made it as NFL stars? The list is too long to even start, but that doesn't take away plays like these that they made in college. I'll never forget being there in person. Amazing.
I was at this game sitting on the hill in the top right corner. This is back when Iowa State actually had a quarterback that was good and they won some games.
first iowa highlight video ive ever seen
Wow, what a run! That's probably the best Iowa State play ever, at least in quite a few years. They've been crappy for awhile now.
Actually, I would say it was the pinnacle of ISU football over the course of their entire history. It was their highest ranking. For reasons that I will never understand, they had a complete melt down after losing at Oklahoma 49-3 and lost 6 of their final 7 games after starting 6-1.
i was like yo i wonder what i need to search to see the seneca wallace run so i typed in "amazing run" and it was #1 lol
This play catapulted Senecca Wallace's Heisman campaign. Either way, it was a great play.
He was in the league for almost a decade. I wouldn't be surprised if he is picked up by someone else. It is understandable why he was cut though. They have McCoy who is younger and more well known by the fans. Still a hell of a football player though.
Exactly, when Hasslebeck was down with the knee injury, there was no doubt in my mind that Seneca would step up. I just hope they don't let him go like they did Josh Brown. We lost the best kicker in the NFL, and to someone in our division too!
i forgot about this play! who can hate on iowa state???? they are so lovable!
- from a husker fan!!!
Seneca should make an appearance for today's game since it's 10 years later.
Yeah, boy was I off.
My Gator buddy, Leak is playing in the CFL, Troy is still a backup behind Joe Flacco in Baltimore, and so is Seneca in Seattle.
Lookin' for a block . . . GETS IT!
Probably won't start, but nonetheless, welcome to the Nation, Mr.Wallace
I was at that game, I was on the hillside. It was freezing cold. My little brother was asleep but still claims he saw it.
Actually sdbsingle1, seneca put up over 300 yards in the Independence Bowl against Alabama, and Alabama had the top rated defense in the SEC that year
that was a wicked block...layin the BOOM
Who’s here from college game day
ahhhh i miss thursday night football on TBS...lol
Not a Iowa State fan but love them helmets and i remember this
Dude he went almost 200 pass plays with out throwing a pick, and had almost a 65% completion ratio for the time he played this year for the hawks. Dont talk unless you know.
That's Iowa State for you. Hard to believe they do have have a nine win season in their history.
that last block that was made for him really helped
I was at this game. It was freaking cold, with a strong wind.
Fortunately we were drunk.
I remember watching this live on TV!
Still happened, though. It's like when my Buffs won the National Championship.. not only did we have a 5th down to beat Missori, but we punted it to Rocket Ismail in the fourth quarter of the "national championship".
Then it was incorrectly called. The blindside block rule is when the helmet, shoulder, or forearm of the blocker hits the defender above the shoulders. This block was with the hands to the chest of the defender. The refs would have to be COMPLETELY wrong to call that. This was just an extremely good block. This is what coaches teach their kids to do.
Sickest play I have ever witnessed!
nice run alot of effort to go like 15 yards :P . And that block just sends this over the edge the crowd go's nuts and wallace walks in :P
now that was an incredible run by wallace, sheer amazing! not just poor tackling by the other team. unlike the tommy frazier run of the 70"s that nebraska fans think was some kind of god box miricle, that was just poor arm tackling by the other team, back then.
said and done.
The "he just never saw it coming" part is the problem. I don't agree with it, but 3 times I saw that called on Sunday (they call it Blind Side block) even if it isn't to the helmet area.
he needs to be this good in the nfl
The greatest play in ISU history.
Respect! From an Iowa fan.
not to bust balls, but he ran over 130 yards. field is 53 yards wide, 20 yards from hash to sideline, he ran 85 yards side to side alone
@emotaco9 no, he was just pointing to the guy to tell his teammate to block him
that block was brutal!!!!
wow that burst he showed before he cut back across the field was amazing
love the block at the end
@Zanikow Yeah, I do remember that. Iowa State got up to 9th, then made a trip to Norman, OK. That was the beginning of a downward spiral for both the team and Wallace's Heisman campaign.
that block was crazy
hes so versatile. hes played like 4 positions in the nfl just filling in for injured ppl.
I live near Seattle and I've been yelling for six years to get him ON THE FIELD, returning punts, slot receiver, etc., but they wanted to keep him as a #2 quarterback and wasted all that athletic ability, in my opinion.
