Chef Jeffrey, your videos are truly gems 💎
Great tips! Thanks so much!
Thank you and Happy Holidays!
praying for you Monica and family
worrying is a waste of time it doesn't change anything
It messes with your happiness and steals your happiness
Give. it all to God
Great idea to use turkey necks for stocks
Good morning Chef❤
Good morning!
Awesome video my brother...
Thank you
Great tips. But I enjoy and love cooking on Thanksgiving day and watching the Macy parade and Dog Show. For us eating at 5 pm is fine for us. Make a list and check it twice.
You can freeze the sweet potato batter, not in the crust tho.
Great video. I'm about to make my turkey stock tomorrow and cornbread on Monday.
I LOVE THIS GUY!! So much good advice. I'm taking copious notes about when to buy and prep stuff. His recipes are much simpler to execute than others I've seen. THANK YOU MY BROTHER!
I can’t wait to follow all of your advice thank you so much for doing this for all of us. God Bless you and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
He reminds me of Ray Charles🙂! Also, he has 2 freezers on opposite sides of him. Freezers are reasonable priced and come in all sizes and shapes. Good advice.
Yes sir, I made that stock last year!!!
Can you freeze the pie filling chef? I love the thought process...love from Detroit 💙
Great tips for early shopping for the 2023 winter holidays...Thank you Chef Jeffery
I will be helping cooking this year and I'm excited. My family starts preparing a week ahead of Thanksgiving Day!
Chef, your freezer must be like Santa's bag, I can't even fit a pint of ice cream in mine. Love your THXgvg prep!
😆 You CAN'T put that pint of ice cream in your freezer because it's too loaded down...... Or..... you can't put it in there because it got eaten before it ever made it through the door.. 🤣🍧🍦~~ Just kidding @dogbiscuit1171 ~~ 💕🦴🐶🤗 xoxo
@@bearpawz_ Ha, well let's start with Chef "I keep it simple" Jeff, by my count he manages to fit in his freezer 10 gallon baggies of turkey stock, 8 unfrosted cakes, 3 pans worth of cut up corn bread, cooked giblets, around 20 pie crusts for pies and cobblers, and 2 red buckets of chitlins. Maybe he has a walk-in freezer like Kim Kardasian has a walk-in closet. Don't know where the 2 lbs. of roux go, but wouldn't fit in my fridge either. This is because my roommate, who cannot cook and should look at Chef Jeff's videos, keeps frozen personal pizzas and bags of chicken nuggets and stuff in the freezer. Until I met her I never knew that you can buy hardboiled peeled eggs in a plastic package. Well, it's ok, a pint of ice cream can always find a happy home in the tum tum.
:D
@@dogbiscuit1171 ...Eeww.. I've seen those pre-packaged hardboiled eggs before too.. They don't look too appetizing.. 😜 Thanks for the response! 🥰
You are so correct about being organized. I start my menu planning now so I can plan out the grocery shopping. And everything is prepped and ready to go in the oven on Thanksgiving.
Chef Jeff😍 I have your broth in my freezer. I missed adding the fresh sage😭 though.
I bought my pie crusts on clearance at Walmart two months ago. They were $0.35! I just went ahead and got my turkey necks and I’m ready to make your turkey stock!
Good morning. Happy blessed Monday 🙏💗💗💗
Thanks for sharing all of your expertise! I usually end up doing too much on Thanksgiving and the day before. With your instruction this year, I will only have to put the bird in the oven on Thanksgiving Day. Thank you, Chef!!!🧡🧡🧡
Chef, Thank you so much for sharing your Thanksgiving prep plan and recipes. My husband planned accordingly and made your homemade stock, giblet gravy, cornbread dressing, and turkey! Everything worked out perfectly and deliciously! 😋And you were right! Making homemade stock was a game-changer!! Question: got any recipes for leftover giblet gravy? LOL we're out of turkey but have a bit of gravy left. Thank you again!! We appreciate you. May God continue to Bless you as you continue to Bless others 🥰
I used fresh herbs for my dressing last year it was a game changer💜
This was a great video with really good advice! 👍🏿
Thank you for the reminder on preparing for thanksgiving. I followed you last year. I made 4 or 5 recipes from your videos. My biggest hit was the sweet potato pie. I am looking forward to more tips this year. Thanks for sharing. Have a blessed day. ❤😊
Awesome 👏
I can't wait to start my prep work for this years holiday..last year was the best I've ever done all with your help! I surely don't like to be working on thanksgiving day. I follow your instructions and it's a world of difference. You're so appreciated.
Thank you Chef Jeffrey! I have created my menus for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. I have started buying some items so I don’t have to do it all at once. I am looking forward to cooking all day long. 😂. Did you get the gift sent to you? DUUUVAL
Yes I did. Thanks
Thank you for the reminder to get started now on the things that can be frozen. They always run out of chitlins and pie crusts here so I’ll get those soon.
Great tips. Thanks chef
Good reminders Chef Jeffery! You are so right, don't try new dishes on this day. Prep makes for a smooth holiday dinner. You certainly did cook for a large amount of people in the restaurant. Looking forward to the Prep vlogs!
GM, Chef thanks for sharing ..👍

THANKS CHEF!!!! I always come to your channel for tips, and advice! You are such a blessing!
GM. Thank u for the awesome tips.
Good morning!
Thank you Top Chef for this tutorial helpful!
How early should you cook your collard greens and cabbage? When you warm it up on Thanksgiving Day do you warm it in a pot on top of the stove or in the oven? I hope these aren’t silly questions.
A few days before is fine
Thank you 😊
🙏🙏🙏
You’re AMAZING‼️thanks Chef❤
Thanks for all the information really helps have a 👍 day and God Bless
Chef Jeffrey, thank you for these wonderful tips, to make our lives so much easier. Stay safe.
Great tips! Thank u so much. I'm sure Lady Vee Vee is listening 😊
You are funny! My mom told me yesterday that we are scaling back for Thanksgiving. There will no turkey this year. Menu will be fish, rice or grits and some vegetables. I tried to go way out, but food costs too much for 3 people.
@@ladyveevee2888Yes he is funny! Lol 😂🤣 🙏💘
Good morning ☀️ Chef Jeffrey. Happy blessed magnificent Monday to you and everyone. reading this. Great Thanksgiving tips . 🙏🏽♥️
Thank you so much for this! This year it’s gonna be an “Old School Soul Food” Thanksgiving and I am so looking forward to it!!!
I appreciate Old School Soul Food. Your website has been amazing blue print for me down the years. What do you use Butterscotch for? Thank you
Sweet potato
Thanks So Much 🍗🥧🍰
Thank you so much for your tips, I have never been much of a cook, but I am learning with your helpful videos.
Ya'll listen to the Chef! I can cook but I used his preparing tips it changes the game! The butterscotch is the truth and don't forget to grab your sage sausage for.the dressing. It's life changing Ya'll!
Great suggestions Chef...thank you. I chop my veggies and put them in ziplock bags a couple days before I'm gonna use them. And if possible, please use a meat thermometer for a moist fully cooked turkey every time! 13 to 15 minutes per pound at 325° until the breast reads 165° and the thighs reads 175°. And LET THE TURKEY REST at least an hour before slicing. Never fails. Happy Thanksgiving OSSF Fam! ❤ 🦃
The absolute best turkey I have ever made was last year when I used your turkey brine recipe. So worth the few minutes of prep time! Game changer :)
Good evening Chef Jeffery. Thank you ❤❤❤
YES SIR I USED YOUR STOCK METHOD….ITS DELICIOUS AND MAKES THE BEST DRESSING. IT REMINDS ME OF MY MOMS!! Thanks!!❤
Hello chef I went to the farmers market yesterday and bought my hen and made my broth.I made my corn bread last week. I been watching your holiday videos you already have up.Thank you for all you do. Blessings 🙌🏻
WOW~~ 🌸🌸 You are really on the ball... GOOD JOB!!!! 🤗🥰💕
Thanks for the advice, I'm starting prepping this week, for the holiday. I plan to celebrate with family from out of town.
Good morning lovely. I pray ur well. You look great!❤ blessings to the family!
You're a blessing to me, thank you.
Good morning Chef Jeffrey thank for sharing💙
Great tips
❤Thanks Chef. I have been looking for that butterscotch for a few months now👍🏽Thank you for that tip with the yams🎯 💥I don't eat sweet potatoes without it now🧡
Good 🌞 Morning Chef Jeffery, Have a bless Week ✌🏿✌🏿
This information is very important when you have people coming over for the holidays. Thank you Chef Jeffrey God bless.
I'm always excited for your Thanksgiving prep and videos... Let's Goooo!! 🦃🍁🍂🦃, Happy Holidays Chef Jeffrey. Sending Love from Galveston🏖️
Hi Chef!, Do you have a video or instructions for cooking gizzards in the Instant Pot? How long would you cook chicken gizzards in the pressure cooker? Thanks.
No
Thank you Chef❤
Thanks for the heads up!!
Can we get excited!!!!!!!😋😋😋😋
Thank you ❤ making a list keeps out the stress and keeps cooking enjoyable for the Holidays , awesome nuggets you share with your years of experience I’ve been following ALL of your Holiday recipes since following you and I don’t change it up❤
Thx so much for the tips Chef J! Making a list is the best option!
I said that I wasn’t going to cook this Thanksgiving because our cruise starts on the 25th. I can’t do it. I have to cook a little smaller ( how do you do that 🤣) and I’ll freeze the leftovers.
Totally agree with your advice to start shopping for Thanksgiving now. Last year I waited till the week before and couldn't find any turkey wings. I only cook for my Dad, and his friends who my stop by his place, and thought I could get away with waiting...I'll never do that again, not only was all the stores crowded, the food was picked over and over priced. Looking forward to the turkey stock video, plan on getting that cooked and in the freezer this weekend too!
People go crazy and make food a lust object. The pastor on the radio said that food is to nourish your physical body.
Thank you for the tips!
Good morning chef, that's exactly what I do , get prepared early .
Thank you chef, I'm old school also and believe in get as much cooking out of the way so you can enjoy family and friends on Thanksgiving; or any holiday.
Blessings to you and family.
Gm 😊
Thank you! You’re the best!❤
Good morning
Hi Chef Jeffrey, great tips and advice. Thanks for sharing.
I've pie dough in the freezer. It's popular here.
Thank you Chef Jeffrey for the Thanksgiving prep advice. I will be watching your Thanksgiving dressing video for more advice. I look forward to seeing you and everyone on the live later. Be Blessed and stay safe everyone! #justshowsomekindness #knowledgeispower
Do you have a recipe for an orange cake of some sort...even if it's a pound cake by chance?
No
@@OLDSCHOOLSOULFOODBake one Chef. Lol 😂 I love Orange🍊Cakes.
I’m guilty.. I stick my turkey in the sink the night before in cold water …. Never hurt us either lol 😂😂
LOL!!!! " This is NOT he time"! You got jokes! Love it!
Thanks for Sharing & Caring beyond Thanksgiving!!! God Bless You, Strengthen You & Keep You too, Chef JW!!!
Chef this video very helpful, thanks so much! ❤❤❤
I would LOVE to sit down to a plate or three of your Thanksgiving food! 🔥❤️🔥
Chitterlings $70 for 10 pounds here in Detroit‼️😳 Thanx for the tips ❤️
Chitterlings r $30.00 for 10lbs in Charlotte,N.C.
I just noticed a sale on cream of chicken soup $.99 a can starting tomorrow at Kroger. You better run -- not walk, before the sell out! I know you're going to need 2 cases of it! 🤣🤣🤣 Joking aside, this video is GREAT information! #justshowsomekindness
lol 😆
I want to learn the sweet potato and butterscotch
Brendan I promise you this is the best yams. My mom is super hard to please but she loves those yams.
@@ladyveevee2888 .... Those candied yams with the butterscotch was
a hit at my family's function last year too. Got folks thinking I can really
cook! I was like the 3 or 4th string in the family cooking line up before.
Now I've moved up to 2nd string! 😁
@byDsign I never heard of using butterscotch and can't wait to make it.
Great video Chef. I'm going to be going through lots of your videos between now and Thanksgiving. LOL! Thank you for all your great recipes and tips! It is much appreciated.
Hey Chef Jeffrey, hope you’re doing well. I am enjoying your videos. I have a question for you are giblets and gizzards the same thing because I can’t find giblets in my store but they are inside of the turkey
Yes
I loves sage lol my favorite 🌿 herb and oregano is my second favorite herb and my spice is cinnamon and nutmeg thanks 👍 my friend 😊 your channel is a Godsend too to all of your Old School Soul Foods Family.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤much love to you and many blessings with joy peace ✌️🕊️ and happiness 😊. You're a joy to watch.
Hey there Chef Jeffrey!👋🏽 Thanks for doing this video. It's a great reminder & instruction on how to get started and start organized. ❤❤❤ And yes, I caught the Lady Vivi reference.😂😂😂
Wow that's REALLY cheap $5 for the red bucket chitterlings. I just went to Walmart here in Michigan and priced them they were $29 for a Large bucket. I hope there will be a sale here. Maybe I missed the sale!!! Thank you for all the advanced preps Chef Jeffrey. Continue to keep stirring up your gifts for the Lord! 🎁🎁#justshowsomekindness2023
