Oh my goodness!!! I’ve been looking for a channel like yours…. Old school. The way folks made that are no longer with us. I was able to spend a little time with my Daddy’s grandmother. He turned 86 last week. She was old school and dipped snuff in Opp, Alabama. No one makes dressing or egg custard pies like they did back then. Luckily my aunt, Dads sister wrote the recipes down. Thank you for the memories.

I became very emotional as I watched this video and as you spoke about wishing your mom was here as it was a reminder of my cooking Thanksgiving dinner with my sister. All of the cooking falls on me now since my sister died in 2018 unexpected. I cook my dressing like you minus a lot of sage and the sausage. But I will be adding the sausage thank you and Thank God you are here to share your recipes with us. I will continue to try and carry on my sister’s tradition for our family. I would give anything to have her back here just to here her say Lisa you want more dressing and Turkey? I will always cherish those moments. Thank you chef Jeff

Good to know it can be stored in freezer for a month. Thanks! Great tip on stock to know! You right, nothing worse than biting down, and the onion being hard, crispy whatever. I ordered an extra crispy pizza last night, and it wasn't, but the onion was 🙄🙃 Nice dressing, Chef. Thanks 🙏💕 Happy Sunday 🩹

My mother would make her dressing as u do & my sister would taste it & say mother u need a little more sage. I will be making my dressing tonite. I have all my ingredients. My broth, sausage, Turkey from my necks & etc. Ur dressing looks absolutely scrumptious. TYFS. Be blessed. Enjoy. #ossfjustshowsomekindness. 😊❤

that looks really good. going to take some pointers. I make my own cornbread, but the last few times I added a lot of the seasonings to the cornbread batter before I baked it. Let it sit out a day or two. I use the Pepperidge Farms stuffing mix. My mother is from the deep south, Alabama. She uses some kind of stuffing mix. It has changed over the years depending on what is available at the store, but we always use a "good" one because they are not all made the same. We also add a can or two of condensed chicken soup. Extra eggs. Canned broth and the stock from the cooked turkey. This year I am going to make stock before hand with the necks like you did. We don't add meat to the dressing but I may do a separate casserole dish with meat in it. My mother is picky with certain food. If it not how she make it, sometimes she say "Awww this ain't good"!!! lololol

That;s some good looking dressing right there. I make mine loose too, it's so moist it doesn't need gravy. I love giblets so I usually put them in the dressing if I have them. Sometimes I make chicken and dressing and most chickens nowadays do not have giblets, so I just buy some chicken livers. Chicken livers are good in turkey dressing too. Cheers and happy cooking, Sir.
