I love watching your solves because even though it looks like you turn slower you’re very fluid and have good look ahead, so I think you just have a nice flow that’s fun to watch
Really interesting and informative. Thank you, Shawn. I'm currently trying to practice mirroring moves both left and right-handed...not always successfully, but it's still a lot of fun! Hope you have a great weekend.
Sub-10 was the wall for me. My average when I stopped practicing was right around 10.5. I had ao5s and ao12s well under 10 but I never got there consistently
The thing that broke the barrier for me is me taking one month standardized every single algs and F2L cases together with the fingertricks. I did PLL/OLL time attack, do a tons of untimed solves for cross to F2L, try to always plan full cross + 1 pair. And then when it comes to the solves I just spam max TPS, i do micro pause a lot but because I can do all of my algs with my muscle memory, I can afford the spare mental focus to briefly look toward to the next thing. With drilling it super easy to sup 1.2 all PLL/OLL, and 2 side recognition.
I was wondering why I'm not sub 10 yet, but then I remembered that I use ZZ, the R2 T Perm and R2 Y Perm, and haven't bought a new 3x3 since 2017 and barely touch any cubes at all anymore
I am kinda losing interest in cubing, mainly because my study load has increased a lot and I don't get enough time. I am sub 9 right now, and it feels such a waste now, I wouldn't care if I were sub 15 level. Now that I have had some perspective, I would suggest younger cubers to not get so worked up in improving their times by one second (as I did) , because in the end it doesn't even matter.
I know that feeling but it still is amazing to show to other people I think that's a reason we all started speedcubing I took a huge break fro 3by3 since I got bored so learned 3bld I average sub 5 minute pretty bad I know so just learn new events and enjoy the events ,study is a work load so cubing relives a lot of stress for me idk about you though but please don't quit try another event
you could say that about anything. It's all about opinions and our own lifegoals. Not everyone loves cubing as much as you or me. It's not our business what's important to others and what isn't important.
Great information! I just started cubing this summer and got the GAN i Carry and use Cubeast as well. While I'm using 4LL and only average 39s, being able to see the TPS and working on driving that up got me down there from around a 44s average in just a day or so. It's good to know how many turns I should be doing as I'm averaging 75-80 (using 4LL). So even with my 2 TPS, if I can learn full OLL/PLL that should save me about 7 seconds.
Efficiency is my problem on 3x3. I have a smart cube and when I do solves a lot of times they are 70 to 75 moves. I can turn at 6 tps a lot of times but my efficiency has to improve. It's most likely f2l that is my main problem. I'm sub 12 btw.
Hey Shawn! Are a new batch of creator cubes coming up soon? I ask this because it has been quite some time since the current batch has been out, and also because your cube is unavailable at the moment( I assume it's because you may be switching to the GAN 11 M Pro Mini soon if the issue is fixed).Any info you can tell us?
I don't really know, I don't keep track. I do have some averages that are around 11 12 seconds and other times around 15. I have had a couple solves under 10 seconds as well.
Just as I watched the video I got a 10.131 but I did all the things mentioned in the video -62 moves -6.1 tps XD I messed up the R perm Edit: Few minutes passed and I got a 10.035 -61 moves -6.1 tps bruh why cant I get a sub 10 Edit 2: I'm gonna quit cubing: 10.087 -49 moves -4.9 tps Edit 3: FINALLY I switched from the I3 to the I carry and the seventh solve was 9.455 -60 moves -6.3 tps

That’s pretty good times. I started in February this year, and I’m currently sub-12, but I had a little bit of history in cubing when my brother used to do it 5 and a half years ago
BTW U moves before OLL (and before PLL) are counted as recognition rather than execution, which is not directly related to this video but just for information
@@SpeedCubeReview yes but the 5x5 does not have the speed or corner cutting of any of the cubes you mentioned And fingertricks are harder because it's 62 mm, not 56 mm
Thanks for the great content as always, Shawn!

He's got a point you don't really need to be sub-10 the important thing is you can solve the cube. But if you're really sub-10 that's quite good.
Feliks zemdegs: Am i joke to u????
That can't be good. He's not even sub 10
Quality content, as ever!

if there were comps nearby i might have an incentive
i dont do cubing as something i want to do but it's just a stress reliever for me
I'm sub15

That ‘and I’ had me dying😂
this could have helped me like 2 years ago, but thats alright, im sub 9 now. all i did was focus on solving 3-6 for fun.
I just realized I do really fancy AUF really often.
Ok now to change like button because like button becomes white and not blue...
What an video it helps every cuber definitely !!
I think a HUGE chunk of being sub 10 is inspecting through the first pair.
good stuff! My cross and 1st F2L... Sux! thanks for this video.
use the inspection timer and really try to get as much as you can from it, I always forget I have it turned on tho >.
I need to get better planning the first f2l
Im averaging 11.5 this video helps a lot!
I turn quickly but oh boy am I not efficient🤣
That's was a last layer skip!? Kind of. My favorite line.
Why does this deceive me perfectly
I already got a Sub 10 single but I want to to get a sub 10 average but I cant. What should I do?

Can the Rubik’s connected be used with cubeast?
Yes
That's what I need.
So you're saying the reason I'm slow is I don't turn fast enough? XD
Me: struggling to be sub 20
Also me: Watches how to be sub 10 to be sub 20
My cfop average movecound is 52

Nothing planned just yet
Hey Shawn ! What do u average with roux ?
I don't really know, I don't keep track. I do have some averages that are around 11 12 seconds and other times around 15. I have had a couple solves under 10 seconds as well.
I average 1s recognition per step, so like 6 seconds of 0 tps per solve :o
Yes, this adds up pretty fast when it's each step.
So your saying I'm not going to get to sub 10 with my current 2.1 TPS average on cubebeast? :)
Just get some nice 20 move solutions :)
Just as I watched the video I got a 10.131 but I did all the things mentioned in the video
-62 moves
-6.1 tps XD
I messed up the R perm
Edit: Few minutes passed and I got a 10.035
-61 moves
-6.1 tps
bruh why cant I get a sub 10
Edit 2: I'm gonna quit cubing:
10.087
-49 moves
-4.9 tps
Edit 3: FINALLY I switched from the I3 to the I carry and the seventh solve was 9.455
-60 moves
-6.3 tps
he made me roux main and now he turns out to be a cfop user
I'm both ;)
Check a recent instagram post where I have two Roux solves in a row around 1 sec.
Well now I know why I'm not sub 10. I only started cubing since November 2020 and rn I avg 15 secs. Planning on becoming sub 10 soon...
Remember that it took people like Max Park 3 years to start averaging under 10. And no one should compare themselves to people at that level.
@@SpeedCubeReview yes :)) also do you think my improvement is normal or a bit faster than usual?
Never worry about the rate of improvement. Everyone is different. Once you start comparing yourself to others or saying if it's faster, normal, or slower is the moment you start not enjoying the process.

I'm not sub 10 either! Close, have a few 9's, but I just can't see pairs clearly enough if I'm turning fast enough to be sub 10.
Nice
I'm struggling to be sub 20, coz my cube is so bad
Why? My main is a budget non-magnetic 5x5
My parents wont let me buy a new one
I avg 65-70 moves
You can be sub-10 with even a Rubik's brand. The cheapest if puzzles like the GuanLong and Sail are good enough to get world record times.
You cant be sub 20 on a 5x5.... The wr is 34.92
@@flameify8285 you dont understand

@@SpeedCubeReview yes but the 5x5 does not have the speed or corner cutting of any of the cubes you mentioned

Why am I watching this even though I am not yet sub 30
Hopefully still useful advice

One thing you need to be sub-10 : Buy a good cube.
