    All plastic injection molded parts have a surface texture created by the tools that made them. To get the surface finish and texture that you want, it’s important for you to understand how we make and measure such finishes.
    In this episode you will learn about:

    - Sanding and Polishing
    - EDM Spark Erosion
    - Media Blasting
    - Chemical Photoetching
    - Laser Etching
    This series is specifically catered to professionals interested in engineering, manufacturing, product design and product development.

    What spray masking do you recommend for chemical etching? (Not looking for tape options)

    • @mattgeiger9988
      @mattgeiger9988 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even if you use a spray mask you still have to tape it underneath, tape masking overall is cheaper and works about the same

    What would be the best method to add texture on top of a mid sole to a sandal made of EVA?

    • @starrapid
      @starrapid  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should put the texture into the aluminium mold that is used to make the EVA Midsole.

      @@starrapid So the STL file I have of my sandal, I should get a 3D designer to add tread to it so that then the manufacturer can turn that into the mold? Even if the tread is very small?

    i have a question. When samblasting a mold continuosly, it could damage the texture or increase the cavities in dimensions? I am sorry for my inglish. Thank so mouch

    • @pactex23
      @pactex23 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you are correct, but light pressure and a fine grit can be a great way to clean texture. .0002

    • @mattgeiger9988

      Sandblasting can damage a mold but only at high pressures and with the unskilled sandblaster. also using the right media aluminum oxide mixed with glass beads is standard
