    Great technical channel. Don't remember to put a Ra beneath 0.8 on a drawing and it was steel machined parts with an o-ring and low platness for waterproof watercooling, but on plastic part a Ra 3.2 was the general mandatory I see in a lot of my previous jobs.

    Hey, great video but I'm getting a bit confused with the surface "texture" part like we are giving a "spark finish" to the metal piece so wouldn't that come in surface "finishing" part? Sorry if I'm sounding dumb, just confused. Thanks.

    • @starrapid
      @starrapid  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello. Texture and finish are often confusing and many people use them interchangeably. We think of 'finish' as a deliberate surface treatment meant to achieve a cosmetic or performance affect. This can also include painting, plating, and other secondary coatings. Texture is the measurable contour of the surface at the granular, molecular level. Sometimes this is applied deliberately to achieve a design goal, other times it's the accidental result of a machining or molding process. In your case. EDM spark creates a fine finish on the part, which can be measured as a smooth texture.
      Hope this helps :)

    The comedic relief was very enjoyable in this video. Too many engineering videos are soooo boring.

      I disagree, the 'comedy' in this is annoying and out of place in these types of videos

    No mention of Rz at all? You could have worked in a Fight Club joke there. Rule #1 of surface finishes is you do not talk about Rz 😆

    Drop the memes clips/jokes edited in and the video will be much better, forced humor in a video with this type of educational content feels really out of place, like you think the engineers or students who will watch your videos need to have their attention reengaged with silliness. Your B-roll footage is good though.

  • @ShadowManceri

    I would strip away the joke clips. They are very distracting.
