  • "It seems, despite your exhaustive defensive strategies, you still have a bit of a security problem, Headmaster.
Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) and Dumbledore’s Army break into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to confront Professor Snape (Alan Rickman). After Harry tells everyone that Snape murdered Dumbledore (Michael Gambon), Professor McGonagall (Dame Maggie Smith) attacks him in The Great Hall.
“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2,” is the final adventure in the Harry Potter film series. The much-anticipated motion picture event is the second of two full-length parts.
In the epic finale, the battle between the good and evil forces of the wizarding world escalates into an all-out war. The stakes have never been higher and no one is safe. But it is Harry Potter who may be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice as he draws closer to the climactic showdown with Lord Voldemort.
    It all ends here.

Ben Owen I was fascinated of him when I first saw him but I hated him at the same time because he was so unfair. But when I see this I'm about to cry. Snape is better than McGonagall. At first he wanted to take his wand completely down but then he decided to defend himself. He did not attack her he just blocked her spells and killed two death eaters which is absolutely amazing and brilliant! I think Snape is one of the best characters who were ever made and I'm so sad that he died..

The Actress of McGonagall played this scene so perfectly
her face, wrinkled, aged, yet you still see the sheer anger when she found out that one of her most trusted friends murdered her idol and teacher. the way her hand shakes after the first spellcast, the way her eyes just stare, void of life and happiness, the way her lips are curved downwards. the actress played McGonagall's silent wrath so damn well it's priceworthy if you ask me.

he never sent out any spells he simply defended himself and blocked her attacks. this scene shows Snape at his best. His hesitation when McGonagall tells him that there is no going back from here, he doesn't want to hurt her and is disappointed/saddened that his friend has turned on him and he has been put in the situation. this is no battle, this is Snape continuing to protect, he backs out the way and blocks each of her shots, he refuses to fire at her. To top it all off he multitasks by using deflecting the shot to hit the two death eaters, all before removing himself from the situation in the fastest and least damaging exit possible. It may seem as though he is a coward for not fighting back but I feel in this case he is the true hero of the situation. plus cudo's for keeping his cool! he doesn't want to hurt anyone, not even the order. yes he pulls his wand on harry but he still does not aim a single shot for him, perhaps it was out of fear or he may have actually intended to take out the death eaters himself before McGonigall stepped in. if he really wanted potter dead he would have done it in HBP.

Mcgonagall can take on anyone with her vast knowledge of the magical arts, but this was a very difficult situation for them, Snape doesnt want to hurt anyone but he had to engage Mcgonagall to make it look to the death eaters that he was truly on Voldemort's side, Mcgonagall on the other hand knew she had to protect Harry for him to continue this unknown mission from Dumbledore.

    • @peterjonesdelacruz
      @peterjonesdelacruz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +61

Snape didn't want to engage McGonagall. It was McGonagall who was trying to engage him into a duel by provoking him with incendiary spells. It would have been interesting if Snape actually fought back, but he didn't because it wasn't part of his clandestine task. But even if he fought McGonagall, he would eventually lose. Minerva is a better spell caster than Severus was.

McGonagall was arguably one of the most powerful magic users, certainly one of the most knowledgeable, left alive from her generation at this point. This generation includes Dumbledore and Grindlewald. You're telling me that if she didn't really want to, she couldn't have absolutely annihilated Snape? She seems hesitant to attack someone she called a friend for so long, but couldn't it also be that she knew? Can we really think for a moment that one of the greatest witches of all time didn't figure it out?

+Daniel Martinez well there are some similarities but itachi was wiser. both knew they wouldn't survive their tasks but itachi even planned his death. what would have snape done if Harry hadn't been where he died? the memories would be lost. Itachi on the other hand made Sasuke want revenge so bad that, at the point Sasuke would beat him he was the most important person in Sasukes life awakening the MS. itachi even told him about EMS and planned for the case Sasuke turned on the leaf. Itachi is probably not Snape but Snape and Dumbledore in one person.

The beauty of this scene is that everyone thinks snape is being a “coward” for blocking all of the shots. The truth is, he didn’t want to hurt someone who was one of his best lifetime friends. Also, McGonagall could have easily killed him if she tried. This shows that both of them, deep inside, did not really want to hurt one another.

Lol, snape is third strongest wizard in harry potter, first of all he invented his own spells, second he could fly without broom, only one capable of something like that was woldemort, even doumbledore couldn't do that. Third he doesn't show his true power cause he doesn't want to hurt his friends he was double agent and everyone thought of him as ally, so he has no proper fight in harry potter, but in book, severus snape and the marauders you can see that severus was one of the most powerfull wizards, he knew more spells in his first year than anyone in seventh year, so dont say something like that, severus was a legend.

But sorry as powerful and creative as snape might be he never actually shown any fighting prowess to put him even on minerva's league

Older doesn't necessarily mean stronger, like at this point we can predict that Harry can defeat her if they fought each other, even though she's more experienced than him and way older than him
Snape creating and inventing his own spells and literally changing methods that have been existing in the wizarding world for centuries, shows that he can't be taken down easily. That means he's unpredictable

The Carrows were both unconscious in the Ravenclaw tower. 😂 The girl got stunned and the boy got Curcio-ed by Harry when he spat on McGonagall.
