    Fantastically enjoyable from start to end. I thought your mixing of video footage from the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and the DJI Mini 3 and audio from the Zoom H1 essential, was awesome! Thanks too for your notes as to the suppliers of the Clippy microphones. I've just sent them a note to see if they do EU deliveries. Liked and already subscribed 😇

    Great recording!
    Could you, please, say something on the noise level of H1e with EM272 vs internal mics? I have seen that many reviewers of H1e complain on the noise. I’m not sure if this is the internal mic noise or the preamp noise. I’m looking for a recorder to use with external microphones, so I wonder if H1e is quiet enough with a good external mic.

      @@sergeyf77 hi mate. Thanks for listening and glad you enjoyed it. I definitely find using external mics like the clippys to be a huge improvement over the onboard mics. Having said that, I’m not an expert on this sort of thing. I think the EIN is around -120 with the Zoom H1E which isn’t great really, but it’s not horrendous either. More sensitive external mics like the clippys allow you to get a better signal to noise ratio, so the noise level I believe will be the same, but you’ll get a much louder signal with more sensitive mics, which means that boosting the signal and boosting the noise is much less likely to be required.
      Hope this helps.

    how did you set up the clippies with the h1e, if it's the same as the h1n then there is only 1 3.5 jack input socket. Did you use a splitter cable?

    • @EQAVOX
      @EQAVOX  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Richard-kl9bb you are right. There are XLR clippys and 3.5mm clippys. I have both versions, but for this one I was using the below into the zoom h1e:

      These just plug in via the 3.5mm jack and are automatically recognised by the zoom. Hope this helps.

      @@EQAVOX Just a quick question. I can get more than 10 hours from the triple A batteries on the H1n, does doubling up on the microphones reduce the battery life because both need powering up.

    Nice recording, thanks. Was the power bank necessary? I ask as I have been trying this recently and have found my Olympus goes ok overnight, including powering the mics with pip, with the two AA rechargeable batteries. I am thinking of getting the Zoom H1e.

    • @EQAVOX
      @EQAVOX  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Cheers mate. I don't think it was "essential" if you'll pardon the pun. I've had the H1E recording overnight before no problem without the power bank. Thew power bank was just reassurance to ensure I didn't miss anything, but it should have no problem running on the two aaa batteries overnight - even with using PIP for the external mics.
      I think I was just being overly cautious to ensure it had enough juice. In future I'll probably leave it out by itself overnight as I'm sure it could easily see it through and makes it smaller and easier to hide places.

      @@EQAVOX Thanks for the reply. I now have the H1e and tried it overnight with just the batteries and it shut off after about four hours. Not sure if this was the batteries running a bit low (the device says not) or something else. Now trying it with a powerbank.

      @@quercus56 hi mate. That’s really strange. It could be worth trying some different batteries. I use Eneloop Pros and seem to get good mileage out of the h1 essential with those. Plus you can recharge them which is a nice bonus. Hope you manage to figure it out.
