Thanks mate. I would have to venture a guess based on what little I know on the F3 and say the F3 is probably superior to the H1 essential. The F3 does have significantly lower self noise than the H1 Essential. The clippys do a great job of improving the signal to noise ratio with the H1 essential so you get much more signal and far less noise. However, I would imagine if they were used with the F3, with its better preamps, the noise would be even lower allowing you to record even quieter sounds with next to no noise. I love the H1 essential because it has inbuilt mics and that can be great for just pointing at things and hitting record when out and about - but I think most would probably agree that between the 2 - the F3’s preamps and S/N ratio is far superior. Superb quality. Which set up is better in your opinion with clippy 272s? Zoom H1 essential or zoom F3? Or there would be be no difference?
