    Working in this field on the engineering side, we generally put a keyed connector on to prevent the incorrect parts being fitted, for example if the temperature sensor had a different measurement scale than another. Would be a good check in the future to plug it in with the sensor hanging in free air to make sure the reading is the same as the ambient temperature, so you know it's scaled right.

    I have a Peugeot Expert, took it to my regular garage, it was cutting out. They charged for full diagnosis, didnt fix it, told me to take it to the dealers, they diagnosed it in 10 mins, fuel filter! 20 quid part, 300 quid bill! I'd go to Jimmy, it'd have been worth it!

    Why aren’t dealers investing in their mechanics training? if you’re not testing you are guessing.

    FFS! Easy money for you because some plank in Sheffield can't tell that he/she, probably he, is trying to force a square plug into a round hole.. I'm not knocking Jimmy's skill but FFS! That poor sod with the van could have been spending that money and that day doing something more fun or relaxing than just trying to make sure he can get to work!

  • @trevormansfield6495
    @trevormansfield6495 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Cos thats what you would do isnt it, ? Put the wrong sensor in it and dont even bother to make sure theres a good connection....... FFS

      I do everything myself now, even the complicated stuff. None of it is rocket science, just read up about it, take the time, check everything, put everything back properly, replace busted clips etc. It's also cheaper to take the time off work and do it yourself, saving taking the car in, picking up, alternative transport, and you know everything has been done perfectly, and anything else in the process has been checked properly.

    • @Cheepchipsable
      @Cheepchipsable ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@davidnorton5887 Sounds good but you need the time space and tools to do these things - not to mention the correct information.

    • @tonykyle5229
      @tonykyle5229 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Cheepchipsable agreed, it's good having the gear, Jimmy obviously knows his stuff and goes to basics first rather than clutching at straws like a lot of garages do. They get you to sign a disclaimer now, so they cover their arses!
