    Hello,
    First time watcher, and so grateful for the synchronicity of finding you.
    I’m just back from Costa Rica and creating a two year plan to relocate.
    I wanted to look at both sides, not just the beach and sunsets, but to get a reality check without putting myself off of being brave to relocate at 57 years young.
    This was the perfect video as all the other writers have pointed out. I love and live your life lessons, which I too have learned as many people have taken my kindness for weakness. I appreciate your humility, I resonate with where you are now. Thank you so much for sharing your experience honestly, your words reflect the man you are. 😊 you have another subscriber and look forward to coming out next year Mar 2025 to spend time in your company to learn more. Stay blessed, you are truly appreciated 🙏🏽💜

    I agree with so many of these things. There are plenty of people here who will see what they can extract from you whether it be your money or your time. Definitely choose your friends wisely. I learned the hard way a few times.

    I suggest dressing modestly, not wearing or flaunting jewelry, etc. Living simply and be courteous. Drive old beat up looking cars , but npmechanicly sound. Say hello, buenos dios, and be friendly but reserved. The little insects attract bigger predators etc. Thanks for sharing your perspective

    So we had this Patrol Base set up in the jungle and we ran night patrols from Howard AFB - Arraijan - Rodman Naval Station ...a really big area to cover so we were on 30 day rotations....30 days in the jungle and 7 days back at Rodman eating real food and drinking beer at night .....
    The only water we had was for drinking ...brushing ones teeth.. and like making coffee .....
    After about a week we smelled just like the jungle and the insects did not seem to pay much attention to us... Sleeping during the day was very difficult ...one day I woke up around 13:30 to see that I was surrounded by thousands of ants workers that had made trails like highways all around me but never touched any of my gear ...sleeping mat ...water ...pack...radio Ect.........
    Your Creepy Crawley mention brought this memory back .....
    Thanks ...Excellent Video .....Ive traveled all over the World either solo or with companion...
    If we may we would to add to your story or future video.................
    Your Safe in the Hotel or Apt is ONLY safe when you are present ....its there for you to secure some valuables when you have friends over or a date Ect..........

    I live in nyc & women always asking for cash. So that’s a universal problem. I’m 1/2 Costa Rican & I’ve been going to Costa Rica for 45 years. If you want to live by the beach areas you will have creepy crawlies. If you live more inland you will have much less of the creepy crawlies. I remember Tamarindo when it was a tiny farming area. Now there are huge hotels & breakfast cost $22. 😆
    When your around people of lower economic situations they will always look out for handouts. Happens here in America all the time. People think that they go to a different county that this won’t happen to them. Well your just fooling yourself.

    I appreciate your channel, the insights you provide as well as the infos. Never mind the haters. It's not that they don't like you, They hate themselves and that's all they have to offer to the world. Flush their comments, block them and forget them. They are living in a dark place and they want to drag anyone, who would pay attention to them, in this dark bottomless place. Your channel is useful to some who cares like you. Thank You! Take care. Keep doing your best. God bless! I'm looking into Costa Rica for a possible retirement location. I subscribed and will keep watching.

    Great tips. I’m in a more remote area of CR so it was nice to hear your perspective coming from a more densely populated beach area. As an introvert, I believe my biggest lesson is how much I love living in this beautiful country away from traffic and commercialism, the Pura Vida life. I’ve made some of my best friends here in Costa Rica and found so much peace in my everyday life.
    FYI; coming from Florida I was used to the creepy crawly’s. There’s just more of them living out here in the jungle 😅

    • @CostaRicaStory
      @CostaRicaStory  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, that seems like it would be a bit more of a challenge, not being in town, but the trade off as you mentioned, all that peace and nature🙂🤙

    Great advice brother. I've been on and off in CR for 35 years. My wife and kids are Tico. My heart is half Costa Rican. Ive lived in CR when it was cheap and expensive. One thing most don't realize is to live in another country one must adapt to the culture changes.
    I will say this. The colonization of CR is horrible. It's making it so the locals cannot afford their own land.

    Just found your channel yesterday ( NEW subscriber ) appreciate your honesty. If I leave America next year, my main concerns as far as which country I relocate to are: #1 Clean drinking water on a day-to-day basis #2 good reliable internet service #3 are there cities in Costa Rica that have good size city parks + a few disc golf courses? #4 If I obtain my motorcycle license and purchase a brand new scooter, would be safer and more economical to ride that everywhere instead of owning a car?
