My first pair of Sidi were Dominators from the mid 90s, they lasted 19 years! I now own the Shot, Drako 2 and Tiger 2. To be honest there is more support offered by the Drako, which is the MTB brother of the Wire 2. There is literally no foot lift whatsoever, nothing. The Tiger 2 are comfy, but they aren't as secure as the Drako! The instep strap took a little getting used to, but they're fantastic on the gravel bike! I've seen the Wire 2 in the sale, I'm very tempted to get them in white, fantastic looking shoe! ✌️
I use both the wire and the shot. I found that with the shot it works better if I do a readjust of both buckles after about 2 miles. After that I'm just right for the next 50 miles. I have a narrow foot and find the shot accomodates my foot better than the wire.
Great video, How did you find the fit? Did you size up from the Sidi size chart or did you find them ran true to size? I have small feet, coming in at 253mm, I ordered size 41.5 and when i stand up there is some small heel slippage. size 41is exactly 253mm, so I'm not sure should i go down to 41 or will they be too tight with no wiggle room. Find sizing very frustrating. Any thoughts, experience would be most welcome if you can.
Thanks! I size a half a size up when I tried the wire 2, shot 2, and Sixty. A half a size up in Sidi seems to be the norm. I love my wire 2. Fit like a glove, can wiggle my toes, and no hot foot.
Sorry if my questions on the Tiger 2 is similar. I have been confused by the order these were posted in... Here you say you didn't trust the Shot 2 and in your Tiger 2 review which I now realize is later than this you say you went with the Shot 2 and love them... so I am guessing the Technos both ontop and lower on the foot turned out to not be a problem? Thoughts
@@addictcyclist I wear a 44.5 in SIDI MTB shoes but the first Wire Carbon Air I received in that sz were too small and am waiting on an RA to exchange for a 45. I am in TX and the average temp here is 102 and has gotten to 106 lately. It is 98 at night so I am hoping those Air version helps my feet stay cool. Your Wire experience was it the stiffness of the upper that hurt your feet or what?
Did you spend any more time with the Shot 2? I am worried about the double Technos ontop of my arch being uncomfortable and that they secure down much lower (away from the ankle) on the foot (than the strapped models) and might create heel slip. I did see somewhere where a Tour De France racer said that he trains without ever securing his shoes and never cranks them down a bit while training and then will secure them for races just in case, but he says the way he pedals he has never felt the need to fasten his shoes. I went out and tried it and rode without my shoes (older Sidis) fastened on and sure enough I did not have any problems with heel lift or security while riding, so I am wondering if we all tighten our shoes too much? Anyhoo... I have heard that the Shot 2 Techno system feels weird in the beginning and you eventually do not notice it or have heel slip problems, but I have high arches and skinny heels. So was hoping maybe you gave the Shot 2 a try and had an experienced opinion?
I love the shot 2 and also use tiger 2. Got used to after a few rides and best fitting shoe and closure system. Perfect pressure. I don’t crank mine down. And have zero heel movement.
@@addictcyclist Brooooooooo.... I love you ! This is what I needed to know. I am sitting here agonizing over whether to keep my Tiger 2 or send back and get the Dracos with the strap just to be safe. But the Tiger 2s I got are the limited edition Anthracite/Red and are friggin awesome and match my Specialized Epic (don't judge me for matching my shit I have no life) so I am just gonna cowboy up and cleat up and ride. Hopefully I will have my Wire Carbon Airs by next week and be rolling on those too! Thanks! Your vids and info are outstanding!
I have the exact smae issues with my feet as you. My Sidi Wires are just a little too snug on the forefoot so I was thinking of going to the Shot 2S as ther emight be a little more give? I'm also using SoleStar black insoles so it makes it even more snug.

Hola, quiero comprar Sidi, no se si wire o shot. Tengo el pies corto 26'7 cm, pero bastante ancho (11 cm metatarso) cual talla mas ancho? Que me recomendais? Gracias de antemano!
I HAVE USED THE SIXTY AND THE WIRE 2, IN MY DAILY USE I THINK THAT THE SIXTY ARE ALMOST A NUMBER SMALLER THAN THE WIRE 2. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS APPRAISAL? IS THE SIZE AND FIT THE SAME BETWEEN THE SHOT 2 AND THE WIRE 2? OR IS ONE OF THESE LARGER THAN THE OTHER? SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH.
Sixty fits wider than wire 2, wire too is more narrow. Both about equal in length given the same size. Shot 2 wider and longer than wire 2 and fit the best.
I’m looking at buying a pair of either the Wires or the Shots, depending upon which fit better. I know you haven’t installed cleats on the Shots, but do you notice any difference in the shape and feel of the sole/last between the two, as I know the Shot has a redesigned sole? Thanks
@@ppp.1334 it’s worth the upgrade and money. The shot 2 have a more secure feel and better more comfortable center dial system. These shoes will last you many many years. Sidi last forever!
Great video! I’m in the market for a new pair of shoes, but I need them to be really breathable. I own a pair of Sidi wire carbon (first edition) for almost 4 years, which I love but give me hot feet on those steamy summer days. They are also a bit heavy, but perfect for cooler/cold days. I was thinking about the Sidi wire 2 Air or maybe the Sidi sixty. You mentioned you also own a pair of the sixty’s, so maybe you could share your thoughts? On a side note, I had a pair of Mavic cosmic ultimate iii, which were super breathable, super light (although not so comfortable as my sidi’s) but the boa system broke from one shoe after just 6 months of light use (only used them on the longer weekend rides, never had a crash). So I’m sticking with Sidi for sure! Thanks!
Thanks! I tried the Sixty. Best fitting shoe I ever tried BUT the heel cup was not like a traditional Sidi cup. It was not adjustable and I had bad heel lift. It stopped when I cranked the one upper dial but that caused numbness. I returned.
Hi thanks for the video , useful. How about sidi wire 2 air vs sidi wire 2 matt sizing? I notice sidi wire air is smaller according to your video. Is it so?
Thanks! Wire 2 air appears to be more narrow yet it’s supposed to be the same as wire 2 but with more perforation. I didn’t demo it and ride on trainer but I would bet they are the same.
@addictcyclist you mentioned that the black shoes run a little smaller. You recommend ordering half cm size up? Example..I wear 43.5 would you recommend 44? Thx
As a user of the original Sidi Shot, I was expecting a similar fit with the Shot 2. The Techno dials are in the same area on the tongue with both shoes, but I had immediate pain on the top of my feet from the techno with the Shot 2, where there is zero issues with the original Shot (and I own 3 pair). I added extra padding to the tongues which helpd, curious if anyone else had this problem?
I own the original tiger 2 mtb which is same design as shot 2. I feel no difference in the dial section. The original upper is more pliable and conforming to the foot shape however. The new version is stiffer. Keep the dials a little looser until broken in more.
Good afternoon!!! You have a very interesting review! I choose Sidi Wire 2 shoes and I can't decide on the size, I don't have the opportunity to measure shoes, only that I can do it to measure the length of the foot, it's 27.5 and 27.9cm. According to your video, this is approximately my size according to the sidi table. If you measured your feet before buying, what is your length? Thank you with best wishes!!
Wasted 4-1/2 minutes before realizing the Shot 2’s were never tried. If you are doing a comparison, don’t you think you should try them? Realize you wouldn’t be able to return them (maybe try taping the sole before applying cleats) but you don’t have a full comparison here.
