Just started testing TPU after using latex and so far, I have to agree with your assessment.
Xcelent choice!
beautiful bike mate, congrats
agree and I do have DA cassette which is the largest item per gram
virtually no diff in stiffness between sworks vs pro sl8. 100gm light that is it. what your feeling is buyer bias. but the sworks for amzing paint and the logo. that is it. fyi the size of the bb does not determine stiffness it is mostly on the carbon layup.
Probably right but the overall feel is slightly different. Standing up on pedals on pro felt a little more flat/muted vs springy and lively on s works. Likely no actual difference in stiffness other than feel.
@@addictcyclistI have specialized and the sworks n I noticed the same thing 😊
How do you know this? I've been trying to decide between sworks frame + normal wheels or normal frame + better wheels. The best source I've come across is an interview from specialized talking about using more 10r carbon pieces to meet 12r specs. But there has to be a physical limit on the shape and size for the 10r CF pieces to approximate the lay in the individual fibres of the 12r, the same way continous strand and short strand fibres work in fibre reinforced engineering plastics. For example, stacking a 0.2 mm thick 10r sheet on top of a 1 mm thick 10r sheet doesn't make it have the same stiffness as a 1 mm thick 12r sheet in all directions in a cycling situation with loads from the road coming everywhere.
feel like it would have been better bang for your buck to go from Ultegra to Dura ace 100grams vs almost 300. I've not ridden and sl8, but I ride a pro sl7 frame, and have ridden an S-works. Not saying I'm some Cat1 guy, but I do have a 1300 watt sprint, and can't tell an appreciable difference that I can point to and say that it definitely isn't just placebo.
I wasn’t chasing weight, was after stiffer ride and a cool paint job 😂
I have the Dura Ace / S-works SL8 and I can confirm he made the right choice. It's so easy to change groupsets down the line. Wait a little more for the next gen dura ace to come out, get the current 12 speed version for dirt cheap and voila.
Allez > SL8 Pro > S-Works SL8... reached the depth of that specialized-rabbit hole! 👀
Hi just wondering what was your reference for the -1 deg saddle tilt? Did you measure on the tip if the saddle? I usually measure putting a 2x4 on top of the entire saddle and measure the tilt from there
Hey I use the spirit level on my I phone and i place at the first bump in the nose and connect to the area where my sit bones meet saddle
@@addictcyclist Thanks for your response. Will try that
Man switching it up more than riding it
Truth!
@@addictcyclist I respect it!
Isn't white one of the heavier colorways? that makes the weight even more impressive for the pro 🤔
It was impressive for sure!
I'm proud of you sir.
Music to my ears
What’s the dimensions of the cockpit?
40cm/100mm
I just built the exact same frame up with Ultegra. It rides like a dream compared to my Canyon Aeroad. Put over 100 miles on it this weekend.
Awesome! I had a 24 cervelo s5 and the sl8 is better in every area. I did love my factor ostro but the sl8 made me forget about it fast
Congratulations buddy
Thank you!
Love the bike & color ❤❤
How's the ride feel compared to the 10r frame? Some youtubers say it's no different, just the weight, while some on youtube and others like the german TOUR magazine say the sworks is just the better frame
I will find out today 😎
Beautiful
Dope frame!! *Team S-Works, 😎 #RobbArmstrong
Thanks can’t wait to ride it this week
Bloody amazing color!!🔥🔥🔥
Love the colour! I’m hoping to pick up mine next week. 🤞🏽
i used to make fun of s works fan boys until i bought my first sworks in form of the sl8. and what can i say.... i will probably never buy another frame again :D
Because it cost your entire life savings.
I do agree! Like my wont venture away from either after this sl8
@@MrKipperfish im good thanks
Does s-works frame ride better than non s-works?
I love it.
Just love the colour. Very very nice
Ballin.
stunner looks amazing.
You beat me to it, congratulations 😅
Thanks!!
I like it.
If not a secret, in what range was the frame upgrade? Where did you find the deal?
Message me on IG and will share details
Is a valve of 47mm not to small for your rims of 50mm?
Was 60mm valve for 50mm rims. Works but was short
Great looking bike! What is the weight of your build?
Thanks. 15.8. Have a s works frame being swapped. Stay tuned 😎
What size tires are these in the video? 28 mm or 30 mm?
28mm
What is the exact crank model? 8120? What is the biggest chainring size it could fit with it?
8120 and I believe 36
what is the cost of the Factor you have versus this tarmac?
Tarmac build was less due to my parts sourcing. 6200 sl8 vs 8500 factor
what a machine! amazing looking bike.
all that design effort, then they stick on a stem with a bunch of bolts sticking out. Arghh
Thank you so much for this very informative video!
Get a pair of Solestar!
Nice explaination ! Gonna try to install those kit
Just installed gp5000 and tpu. Definitely I was expecting better ride. Need to try latex
What size tire?
32mm. But, my previous was gp4000 25mm front and 28mm rear. Actual size of 28 was 30. Gp5000 32 actual size is 28on my mavic aksium rims. Front feels little better on bigger cracks
Feels like your riding on plastic. What nonsense. Your tires are rubber. What is wrong with roadies????
i've gone through many many saddles, including the selle 3d printed one, and this saddle is just amazing, its like its not eve there.
It was comfortable but it was too squishy for me. Felt unstable. I ended up selling it
Super informative! Thanks for sharing
The weight is without pedals?
Qual seria melhor esse ou ST.
I like the cobra9 semipro. Light as a regular insole, and good support 😅
in scott spark black they are not 0.6 they are unfortunatly 0 Degree
Interesting as I’m looking for new insoles I use specialised mediums but lack enough support and was looking at G8’s but may check these first
@@_slowpoke don't get G8s. The plastic arch supports don't last long at all.£130 I wasted.
@@gawa62yeah that’s what keep reading these seem more reasonable Do you have to size up from your shoe size in these? As recommended by the brand itself
Do not get g8. Had them. They are terrible. They collapse so easily and got bad knee pain. A friend also. They are not meant for competitive use. More leisure in my opinion.
@@addictcyclist just bought some with your discount code 👍 Might as well try new insoles
+1 for Solestar. I run the blacks in my road and MTB shoes. I was having an issue where it felt like someone was crushing my toes. I bought DMT Pogi's for road and DMT KM1 for MTB with these soles and they totally fixed the issue. Great product.
