I actually bought this because I have really bad acne on my scalp. I know it says psoriasis but the active ingredient is salicylic acid, which is a common active ingredient in acne products. It works and doesn't leave my hair crispy but I follow it with the nizerol deep moisturizing conditioner after. If I put regular conditioner near my scalp or god forbid any hair products or oils the acne situation gets worse. I also bought all the products with my own money. Only thing is that I wish it was a little thicker.
Nizoral does work well. I've been using the regular kind off and on for years. Will have to try this version. Also, for anyone searching for a medication that knocks the psoriasis and itch out pretty quickly, ask your doctor about Enstilar. I was prescribed this instead when Taclonex prices skyrocketed.
When scratching it out you have to do it moist [conditioner or moisturizer cream] just like doing anything with the hair being dry or a little moisturized but not enough is basically scrapping it when dry causing actual irrational redness
i ended up on your video of this product reasearch. i am just in doubt of what i have purchased because i got it for so cheap. like about 13usd. but what i got seems legit, the box, the bottle the brand sticker. what i care is about the content inside. its clear and thin and i dont wanna worsen my scalp conditon, well i have seen 2 videos of this product and it looks like the same as what i bought. thanks.
I think im gonna try this. I have flakes bad but after doing hours of research i can't decide if it's dry scalp or dandruff. Im leaning more toward dry scalp so im just gonna start trying things!
Have you done research on what causes dandruff vs. dry scalp? If you know what triggers it, you can find the best path forward for treating it! I know Selsun Blue has a good shampoo line for dandruff! This specific shampoo I am using in the video is for scalp psoriasis which is different from dandruff, so you may not get the same results. But I do think Nizoral may have a product for dandruff/seborrheic dermatitis so that may be something to look into too! Hope this helps!
I saw great reviews about this product for psoriasis. I tried it for the first time for my scalp psoriasis along with regular conditioner. Scalp is still very itchy and flaky after first use ..should i avoid regular conditioner along with Nizoral? Or do i need to wait until i use couple of times to see the effect? Or should i apply and leave it for couple of minutes before i rinse it off.. Please suggest.
I keep the shampoo in for 5 minutes before washing it out. It’s also important to incorporate other products that treat your scalp, and to change your diet. Keep using the shampoo while incorporating other techniques and see how it works!
@@Alitrucking No, you do not need a doctor's prescription to purchase this shampoo. Check out your local Walmart or maybe Target to purchase. You can try Amazon too!
I have started doing a number 2 hair cut on the back so I don't feel like ripping my scalp off. Of I let my hair grow the heat affects the itching. I will try this shampoo and see if that helps.😊😊😊
Pls have you tried it. Does it work. I have cut my long hair all bcos of dandruff and use different treatment still the dandruff is still on my hair. Pls is the product okay
@cynthiatinacynthiatina4493 Sorry I haven't tried it yet . I have Perioral Dermatitis. Have had it for a few months. They say it's because of the Psoriasis cream I use. I am not using any shampoos at the moment because they don't want anything on my face. I didn't even know this could happen.😞😞
In my experience, scratching up the flakes with a comb makes more flakes come back. I suggest using your fingers (not your nails) to massage your scalp thoroughly to lift the flakes. It's a less abrasive way to lift the flakes.
Yeah but what do you do put in your hair after this wash has finished. Do you put oil in it to keep it moisturized or do you just put conditioner in and leave it dry?
@@nashaeshainte Thanks for the reply. i'm just confused. I thought with this particular shampoo your not supposed to use oil as it has the possibility to further produce yeast on the scalp, which, the bacteria then feed off of to make dandruff/dry scalp
In cases for dandruff, yes, because dandruff is caused by a fungus. But I don’t have dandruff, I have scalp psoriasis which is chronic autoimmune disease. Meaning, it’s not fungus or bacteria causing the flakes on my scalp, it’s my immune system going into inflammation which causes the skin cells on my scalp to produce too rapidly. Therefore, oil will not affect my scalp the same way it would affect another person who is diagnosed with dandruff. I hope this makes sense!! I haves a series on my channel where I talk about my condition more in depth. It’s the Scalp Psoriasis Series. Feel free to check it out!
My dermatologist did prescribe me an ointment to use, and the two times I used it, my flakes were worse. So I stopped using it. There may be a better method for me to use the ointment to get better results but I haven't researched that yet. For now, I simply deep condition after shampooing with this product.
It depends on how dirty my hair is, but if I’m washing my hair weekly, I usually only shampoo once. But if it’s been three weeks or more since my last wash day, I’ll shampoo twice🤗
@@LoveMe2Today yes! That’s actually a really good point! 👌🏽 Product layering is very important! We have to make sure the products work for our hair/scalp and work well together with the other products we use!
Im planning to buy that online soon, can I use it every day? I was using selsun blue every day and was using it everyday for 3 yrs now, I cant get sslsun blue in my area, only Nizoral is available
If you regularly wash your hair everyday then yes! This shampoo isn’t drying at all, so I’m sure it will easily fit into your regular wash day regimen 🤗

Do you use Clobetasol Propionate Cream, too?
I've tried it twice, and my scalp flaked up worse after using it both times.
Yeah but what do you do put in your hair after this wash has finished. Do you put oil in it to keep it moisturized or do you just put conditioner in and leave it dry?
After washing and conditioning, I apply a leave in conditioner and oil my scalp. Then I either braid it up and let air dry, or I blow dry. 🤗
