Hi Allysia I just wanted to say that I have been a fan of classical music (as a listener) for almost 7 decades now and to this day I listen to classical music every day. I don't play anything more complicated than a stereo and I have never studied the subject so have little actual knowledge of music at all. I find your bubbly outgoing personality and your articulate presentations to be contagious, not to mention you are a lovely young woman. I look forward to all your videos, even though I will probably not retain much of the knowledge, you are an additional part of my love of classical music. I wish you a long and rewarding career and keep up the video episodes.

I like the way you paint a picture of the Baroque period by not only mentioning musical artists of the period, but also the people associated with the scientific and intellectual movement of that era. I feel that everything would have been connected and related in some way. Perhaps the music inspiring the science and maybe the philosophical ideals influencing the music and the science might have been reflected in the ideas of the philosophers. An endless cycle of new enlightenment , contemporary and new to the people.

Hi Alysia, just had a question regarding what you spoke about composers endeavoring to pour emotion into music....just how did they do it? I mean was there a particular chord sequence or particular note, harmonies in summary what were the fundamental building blocks of music employed to create let's say a piece like Canon or a piece like Ave Maria and what was the emotion sought to be conveyed and how did they actually translate that into music? It would be really helpful if you did a video on which one of these fundamental blocks represent what emotion.
    Thanks in advance!!
