Homelessness in Hawaii. Interview January 2018 with Twinkle of the Puʻuhonua o Waiʻanae, who resides at the Waiʻanae Boat Harbor, talks about the struggle of living in limbo as they await the sweep by the State of Hawaiʻi to remove them from their homeless encampment. She so graciously spoke to me and gave me a tour of the Puʻuhonua.

This breaks my heart, my aunt lived in Wai'anae and so I spent quite a bit of time here. It hurts to see the homelessness prevalent in this area, God Bless you Twinkle

I think Hawaii’s Governor can do a better job in helping the Homeless. This is their home. Many of the Homeless have small n big problems which includes lack of education, no job, no transportation, no bus service, no shelter, no blankets, no food--the list is long. The people are not asking for money--Just a helping hand. Even Police Officers can help where their presence keeps Predators at bay.

Nobody’s name. Nobody’s identity is “Homeless.”
