  • There’s a hidden bolt that’s got to be removed first, there’s a trick to slipping out the headlight, some silicone grease is almost a necessity because things are tight on the bumper

I just pulled my son’s headlights out. Removed the bumper fist. Not difficult. I struggles with the deep torx screws and ended up buying a 12” t30 Torx screwdriver. Worked like a charm. Spent over an hour using a similar set up as the video with no joy. Torx screw driver had it out in 15 seconds

DO NOT DO IT THIS WAY. It's so much easier just to remove the bumper one side at a time allowing easy removal and install of the headlight. If you leave the bumper as-is you'll have to manhandle and force the headlight in and out. You're likely going to ruin the headlight seal in the process and possibly scratch or damage parts. First remove the bumper screws along the top of the grille, then the quick screws underneath that secure the bumper to the bottom pan. Then working one side at a time: Turn wheels to expose wheel liner screws, follow the process to remove screws and bolts for the bumper on that side of car, pull out bumper on working side, remove headlight very easily, replace bulbs, reinstall everything. Yes "remove bumper" sounds like a pain but it's not that much work to do this job the right way. Work one side at a time and the bumper stays on the car, but gives you easy proper clearance for the headlight in and out.

Excellent Video!!! Great explanation. Thank you. I am ready to remove and replace the expensive gas bulb in my son's Car - 2007 Audi A4 Quarto S-Line.

Hahaha you legend. I spent forever removing inner wheel arch liners and torx all over the place. The garage charges arm and a leg to remove bumper. Weldone my man.

Good advice but I think in your case it is easier just because your headlight dont have the third mounting ear next to the grill, maybe because is broken or just don't have it but anyway thank you.

I like his "special" tool to remove the one deep headlight anchor screw. He used electrical tape to attach the bit! The Total Technik video is not much better. If these videos really wanted to help, they would not just slide over the difficult parts that slow the viewer trying to do the work. Attaching the electrical connector looks easy. Try disconnecting it after it's been attached to the headlight assembly for 15 years. Most people have to force it open and just break it if they need to open it. I have not been able to open one of these connectors the way they are supposed to be opened.

Just undo the top centre torx screw and slide the bumper forward around 1 inch . 🤷🏻‍♂️

Does anyone know where I find a fuse for the LH headlight? I've gone through the entire car without being able to find the headlight fuse.
Tested with a multimeter and have no power on the plug which goes onto the back of the H7 Globe.

Where does the yellow plug in go, not the one for the lights but it stems off the headlight adapter , nobody talks about it

Excellent thanks 👍 just bought one and got condensation in one headlight - any idea why this might happen ? Is there a vent or something?

Probably a bad seal somewhere, maybe between the plastic and the glass

Probably someone previously removed the headlight without first removing the bumper. All that bending, levering and forcing is not going to do the integrity of the headlights any favours.
Bumper removal on these cars is easy. It’s also an opportunity to address a B7 Achilles heel - rusty front wings/fenders. Don’t just bend back the liner, take out the whole thing and get in there with a hose, brush and some corrosion treatment.
It says a lot when you’re prepared to cut corners and inflict damage in the name of led running lights but you’re not prepared to invest in making fundamental improvements.
