TIME STAMPS INCASE YOU DON'T WANNA WATCH THEM ALL IN ONE GO ☺ Beauty calendar (+ an actual spider) : 0:58 Stationary calendar : 11:37 Mystery calendar (lol) : 19:15
I'm a manager at poundstretcher and I can tell you at least 80% of that first calendar was from one of our shops and probably cost around £25 in total.
I think at the end of these you should research the products and see how much they actually cost at retail price and add up the total to see if the calendar was worth the money you paid! X
5:53 I love how Sophie jumps after seeing the spider but then proceeds to carry on whilst the spider roams the room 😂😂 if that was me I would have run a mile 😂
If it were to happen to me, I would have immediately gone into my "Spider Dance" which involves screaming and slapping myself all over. Products would have gone flying.
the second advent calendar seems to be stationary for journaling, it's like a DIY thing where stick a bunch of things on a page to create an aesthetically pleasing form of art, i'd say.
Did they ask if you had any allergies for that last box? Imagine if you had a milk and/or a nut allergy. Sadly all of them seem like a rip off and you'd have been better off sending family or friends to a bargain shop and getting them to make you an advent calendar. Maybe an idea for next year! Hope you, Alex and Moon have a lovely Christmas 💕 xx
Lovely idea...my sister once made me a box for christmas, full of tiny useful things. Such fun opening all those small gifts. Then my mom made me a box of sewing gifts to fill a sewing basket. She even made the basket pretty. Fond memories😉
I love this series so much !! I had a little idea for next year maybe - you could create your own makeup/beauty advent calender with what you would put in one if you could make it ?? idk if that would be a terrible idea
Would be lovely to see. You could do beauty, ornaments, stationery, kitchen, accessories…….. it’s something I’ve always thought to do myself but never managed it. Mine would probably have no theme, just lots of things I can’t normally justify buying but would definitely use.
For that last box someone literally just wondered round home bargains or b&m and picked up some random crap 😅 definitely not worth £80 even with the nice wrapping 😬
So, as an Etsy seller, I've got to explain what you need to consider here. If it cost you £80, the seller will be paying close to £10 for all of the Etsy fees, then say £36 for the items at £1.50 each on average, plus say £6 for the wrapping, so that is only leaving the seller £28 profit. Assuming it has taken them 3 hours to buy all the bits, wrap them individually, go to the post office etc, that's only leaving £9 an hour profit. Not forgetting they will also be paying tax and insurance and declaring it as self employed income, so you're left with about £7 an hour profit...less than minimum wage. So while £80 may seem a lot to the buyer, this is literally the minimum the seller can charge to make a bit of a profit on doing it all. You're paying for the convenience of having someone make you an advent calendar, and the surprise and novelty of opening 24 gifts you didn't know about. Hope that makes sense and is helpful!
I see what you’re saying for the time, packaging costs, Etsy Fees etc but as for the item cost, time spent & postage: if the seller is selling a few of these, they won’t be going to the shop for each individual box they make up. They will be going to the shop once and buying for multiple boxes or they will be ordering online in bulk, which also sometimes reduce the price per item for the seller. Plus, they will also be sending out multiple boxes at the same time so they will be making slightly more per hour than you state. If they are not buying in bulk at a reduced cost & are having to make multiple trips to the shops and/or Post Office, then maybe the seller needs to look at whether they should tailor the way they operate to maximise their profit or stop offering a service that takes so much time & effort for so little in return.
@@ericadrake387 Oh yes, I agree that they might save time by bulk posting etc. but they are still individual wrapping 24 presents, which I know would take me flipping ages. And there are also costs in time that I didn’t mention, such as time taken to work on SEO tags for the listing, photographing the products in a light box to get your listing to the top of the search term, all things that take time in learning and executing. My point is that when a buyer sees the £80 price tag and deems it expensive, they aren’t considering all of these factors that come in to reduce the profit margins and ultimately the hourly wage the seller is going to receive. I also don’t think anyone can throw the word ‘scam’ around with this either, as long as what was received is what was listed in the description, and the seller wasn’t promising you would receive £80 worth of products for your money.
@@sazzydaffy33 I agree with all you are saying on the hidden costs. But ultimately the customer doesn’t care about that, they care about value for money. For example, I know that a baker can make a better cake than I can at home, a hairdresser can cut my hair better etc. I know I am paying extra for their expertise, time & costs etc. I am happy to pay, because they can do it better than I can. But going to the shops, wrapping some cheap presents & then charging me top dollar when I could do exactly the same myself for less? Of course the customer is going to be annoyed & feel ripped off. The fact is, the customer doesn’t care about the seller’s overheads, they just want value for money. Just look at the comments, the vast majority say it’s overpriced for what it is, there is no skill in it to justify paying extra for. So if a seller, is only going to deliver a product that’s going to leave the customer disappointed & feeling ripped off, then why bother in the first place. Would it not be better to focus all the time, effort & costs associated with it into a better quality & better value products, ensuring happy customers and, even more importantly, repeat business? Otherwise it’s a big waste of both the seller’s & the customer’s time & money.
I saw ur comment 7£ an hour god in Cyprus ur lucky to get 5€ an hour 9hour shifts 6days a week its disgraceful wish we had a minimum wage here things goin up but wages :( so tbh them boxes would be double the price n still less profit made
I mean... normally I'd never be unhappy receiving chocolate but that last one was so bad for £80!!! In case I don't get another chance to say it, I hope you, Alex and Moon have a lovely Xmas 💕💕
Love the stationery one! I definitely recognised a lot of the characters too, Molang (the bunny), the Sumikko Gurashi guys, Rilakkuma etc. It would be really good for people that do journalling/planner deco. It seemed a bit overpriced maybe, but those types of stationery are usually imported and a bit more expensive. I definitely don't think the beauty one was anywhere near as good value, even though it looked like you got bigger sized items, a lot of them were off-brands and a bit cheap looking. The food/random one was wayyyyyyy overpriced, it looked very much like 24 items from Poundland, although it was nicely wrapped, it was worth about £40 max to include wrapping and to make a bit of profit - I would say yes, £80 for that is totally a scam!
No way its the last one already! This series is always so good! Hope you, Alex, Moon and the rest of the family have a great Christmas whatever you have got planned for it and happy new year when it comes too!! ❤
Actually in love with your hair like this suits you!.. you acted way more calmer than i would if i opened something and a spider was in there 🤣🤣 Merry Christmas to you all Xx
Box 1 gives me 2021 sales B&M pound stretcher vibes box 2 aliexpress vibes box 3 no words except that it’s incredibly dangerous to send nuts in a mystery advent calendar as some peoples allergy is so sever…. All 3 boxes were not the value you paid and personally feel are money grabs! But thank you for the entertainment 😅😅😅
stationary boxes are usually targeted to people who journal and stuff, those are adorable to set someone up for next years journal. B u t I used to work a store that sold nearly all those things and they're all from aliexpress so going on aliexpress with 60quid will actually get you so much more of the same type of thing
I love this advent calendar mystery box idea. You get better stuff, than you would get in a normal beauty/desk advent calendar. And everything is normal size, rather than a sample pot/tube. The only issue is, is the prices. They're definitely way over priced especially the 3rd box. Once again, really enjoyed the video, the advent calendar videos are my favourite ❤
These are my favourite of your advent calendar series! However they ripped you off massively, but the wrapping on the 3rd box was absolutely amazing! Thankyou for another year of fabulous videos xxx
the little scissors that came in the second box are meant to be used to cut thread when sewing! they're just so freaking cute and tiny for some reason too. love this christmas advent series
Fun fact, these actually aren’t allowed on Etsy😂 Etsy is not for selling repackaged items and is only for handmade stuff. But I speak on behalf of all Etsy sellers when I tell you Etsy don’t care at all😂 meanwhile we’re here loving the different kid of advent calendar videos!
I absolutely love these videos (all your videos in fact!) I have really bad anxiety, and when I’m feeling really bad I come to your channel and it makes me feel so much more relaxed, I hope you Alex and moon have a wonderful Christmas 🎄❤
When it comes to Avon, I must admit I love their original skin so soft lotion. I know they’re not the greatest considering, but it was the only thing that helped my skin after a rash reaction to a soap.
My friend and i make each other advent calendars each year, and spend all year finding little gifts… then wrap them somehow and ship them… it is so fun!
The Kawaii stationary one was my fave although abit overpriced I feel and can get a lot of this style journalling bits on shein. Mystery calendar was abit of a let down (for the price) and looked like they went to home-bargains 🙊 they did package it nicely though :)
I have a small businesses on Facebook and I'm so doing this next year! An advent calendar full of handmade/ personalised gifts!!! I have a year to plan it. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas beautiful 😘
Free spider!! 😲 these are really sweet but definitely (very) overpriced! 💔 my favourite thing was the snowman soap dispenser though I need that 🤣 loved the advent calendar videos this year as per usual 🥰 hope you have a wonderful Christmas!!! 🎄
If you don't know what to do with all that stationary then I recommend journaling. I struggle with anxiety and it helps me a lot, it's very calming so you can give it a try
That last one was definitely a Home Bargains shop…such a shame. I totally get there is a cost of living crisis happening in the uk, but to scam people out of money this way is not on, especially as there was a childrens option. Well done on the series, I love them, and watch the old ones all the time x
If you have any kind of skin sensitivities PLEASE do a patch test with the avon stuff!! I got their cranberry winter blend, the peppermint blend, and the cinnamon blend and all of them gave me head to toe hives when I used them.
As someone who keeps tarantulas, believe me, spiders can survive in weird places for a very long time with no water or food! Best advent calendar gift haha!!! But on a serious note, these items are definitely Home Bargains/B&M/Bargain Buys items and such a rip off!!!!
Last year i made my sister an arts and crafts advent calendar she loved it and this year I've made my mom one Gardening themed things from Vinted and charity shops and my mom is really enjoying opening it :).
This is a great idea to make next year as a gift for my baby niece & nephew. So everyday they will have a gift to open for the 24 days of the Christmas holidays.
“Its a pencil and it has…things on it” 13:50 You’re so cute hahah i love your review of the kawaii stationary xD Omg the ruler!!! Do journaling! My sister has gotten into it, just makes really cute pages (but doesn’t do anything with them, they’re just lovely pieces of art ☺️).
I will expose the 1st box sender. The bodyshop items, some of them were freebies. I got so many gifts from bodyshop like half a year ago because I spent I think 30€ and I got the aloe vera sheet mask (that was in day 1) there were small hand creams and a showering gel. And that l'oreal green sugar scrub is pretty good if you have oily/combination skin. Love that scrub
Sad it’s the last one already but this definitely is my favorite series and I love the holidays as well. I’m in love with your hair and it makes me want to do the same with mine but probably blonde or pink 😅 much love❤
With box 1 the body yogurt the oils might have separated some which is normal and just needs to be mixed before using. Epsom salt is a natural exfoliant and anti-inflammatory remedy that can be used to treat muscle aches, dry skin and even fight various internal health issues, it's really good actually if you can use it in a bath but you can use it in a foot bath as well and it's really nice too. Box 2 I agree was alright. With stationary people that I watch I've noticed they use a lot of stickers to decorate their pages with and it's not bad if you're really into that kind of things but to get that many stickers in a box is a lot and kinda disappointing with how much you paid for it. I think last year's jewelry one from Esty was still the best LOL P.s. As a creator myself a little tip...If you put the timestamps in the description, it will add areas on the timeline that you can see as a watcher where each box is when hovering over it. Its pretty cool and kinda a new thing they added.
The stationary one is basically items you can get from aliexpress or shein for so cheap! As someone who doesn't like chocolate I would be so disappointed with the third one
I can’t believe that last one was £80, especially considering I got the Look Fantastic advent calendar for £65 on Black Friday. It reminded me of that one family member who always buys you a load of sweets and chocolate, I don’t have the biggest sweet tooth ever and usually I fail to eat it all by the time they give me more on my birthday which is in July
I love the advent calender series, im super sceptical of the mystery box ones though, my luck I'd get a load of pound shop stuff or used lol, didn't you get a sample before?
I can’t believe it’s the last one already 🙁 I loveee this series I’m already excited for next year 😂 x The spider when you said it, I thought you meant like one of them Halloween fake ones 😭
The last day of the stationary calendar, the little paperclip with the cat on it? I have a few of those, not the cat one but same concept, and I like to read several books at once, so I use them as bookmarks. They're AMAZING, I put them on the page before the one I'm actually reading so that I can just use the character to open the book itself and flip it right open to the exact page I need and I'll even put it along the side to mark where I should continue my reading. Love those things.
I enjoyed your presentation. I am so sorry and believe should have been nicer items for the cost. You are very kind and forgiving and deserve better. Hugs
The second box was the result of a night with a credit card and searching “stationary” on AliExpress. It’s not bad stuff, it’s just not worth a whole lot. Less that £1 per item.
May sound insane but I worked at a large retailer and I can tell you that at that place they charged 20 for each advent calendar and those long ropes would sell for about 30. Not sure what the equivalent would be there.
Box no 2. As someone who really likes stationary, for absolutely no reasonable reason, these were really cute. Definitely good for anyone who bullet journals. Still not sure it was with £60. But still cute

Lol so bath bombs are kinda hard to use without taking a bath but you can do a foot soak with Epsom salts so you can maybe use those.

hey!

As someone who keeps tarantulas, believe me, spiders can survive in weird places for a very long time with no water or food! Best advent calendar gift haha!!! But on a serious note, these items are definitely Home Bargains/B&M/Bargain Buys items and such a rip off!!!!
the BEST TH-camr, nobody call tell me otherwise
Aww!! thank you so much ❤
I live for these videos! Thank you for brightening my day ❤
Aw thank you for watching!! ❤
your advent calendar videos this year have been amazing xx have a nice christmas xx
Thank you so much!! ❤
Omg I haven’t seen your videos in absolute months! I thought you didn’t do youtube anymore so glad this video come on my home page ❤
Ahh really!! i'm still here :) ❤
Last year i made my sister an arts and crafts advent calendar she loved it and this year I've made my mom one Gardening themed things from Vinted and charity shops and my mom is really enjoying opening it :).
Aww cute!! ❤
@@sophielouuuise I just think Christmas isn't just for kids and seeing my mom get excited over it thats what makes me happy 😁.
This is a great idea to make next year as a gift for my baby niece & nephew. So everyday they will have a gift to open for the 24 days of the Christmas holidays.
“Its a pencil and it has…things on it” 13:50
You’re so cute hahah i love your review of the kawaii stationary xD
Omg the ruler!!!
Do journaling! My sister has gotten into it, just makes really cute pages (but doesn’t do anything with them, they’re just lovely pieces of art ☺️).
❤❤❤
I loved the washi tape in the box bc you can reuse the box as a cute like ring holder or something.
Your makeup looks so good!
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you, Alex and moon🥰🎄🎁❤️
Thank you!!! you too ❤
So sad the calendar series are coming to an end. 😢 hope you’re doing well, you look beautiful!❤️
Thank you so much! ❤
I was hoping you’d do this again! and I’m so happy! I love your red hair by the way and I’m looking forward to watching it! 🥰
Thank you so much!! ❤
@@sophielouuuise thank you for replying!
The wrapping for the 3rd box was really nice 😊
Sad it’s the last one already but this definitely is my favorite series and I love the holidays as well. I’m in love with your hair and it makes me want to do the same with mine but probably blonde or pink 😅 much love❤
Aw thank you so much! & yesss do it! ❤
I think last year's jewelry one from Esty was still the best LOL
P.s. As a creator myself a little tip...If you put the timestamps in the description, it will add areas on the timeline that you can see as a watcher where each box is when hovering over it. Its pretty cool and kinda a new thing they added.
Where is your top from please!!x
Asos! but years and years ago i'm afraid ❤
I think you can officially put SCAMMED in the title! Haha! Still, a fun video to watch! =)
Haha! yay glad you enjoyed it ❤
Haven’t seen one of ur videos for ages! I loveeee ur hair!!!
Aww thank you! ❤
LOVED this video! I think next year, you and Alex should make your own advents calendars for eachother! (: Merry Christmas!
Thank you!!! aw thats a good idea ❤
Hope you and alex and moon have a lovely xmas 🐧
Thank you!! you too!! ❤
The stationary one is basically items you can get from aliexpress or shein for so cheap! As someone who doesn't like chocolate I would be so disappointed with the third one
I'm pretty sure the second one is for journaling?? ♥︎
Yesss it might be! ❤
Loved this video but I also really love your pink couch! Where did u get that? 😍 Hope it´s available in Belgium
The stationary one costing £60 should be considered a criminal offence.
I love your videos they are always such a good vibe, I hope you ,Alex and moon have a lovely Christmas and a happy new year when it comes x❤
Thank you so much!! hope you have a lovely christmas ❤
I love the advent calender series, im super sceptical of the mystery box ones though, my luck I'd get a load of pound shop stuff or used lol, didn't you get a sample before?
Thank you!! haha yeah i did once! ❤
do one for this year. loving this
I would love the last one food is life 😍😍 and to get them like that without expecting it I would freak out
First girl went hard at tkmaxx
I can’t believe it’s the last one already 🙁 I loveee this series I’m already excited for next year 😂 x
The spider when you said it, I thought you meant like one of them Halloween fake ones 😭
Aww thank you! hahah nope a real spider ❤
Loved this! You should do a video testing all the snacks from the last one 😂❤️ happy holidays love
Thank you!!! ❤
Ahh, I love these!!
I've had a stressful week, so this is wonderful timing 💕
Thank you!! sending u lots of love ❤
I literally would have burnt everything if I had found a spider in there😂
Happy xmas to you and your family 💗💗
hahaha! thank you - you too!! ❤
I enjoyed your presentation. I am so sorry and believe should have been nicer items for the cost. You are very kind and forgiving and deserve better. Hugs
Yayy!! I’m at work til 9 but I’m going to watch the minute I walk through my door 🥰🥰🥰
Yayyy! ❤
everytime i get a notification that you posted a vid i automatically get a smile on my face!
Aww!! ❤❤
First box is bits someone has just had in the house plus a trip to home bargains 😂
Where is your top from! I love it!!
That last one that was £80 has had you off, it’s all stuff from Home Bargains. I bought them red nose marshmallows yesterday
I'm sorry, I replayed the spider part like 3 times. I needed that laugh today!
Haha you're welcome! ❤
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas! ❤️🦌
Box no 2. As someone who really likes stationary, for absolutely no reasonable reason, these were really cute. Definitely good for anyone who bullet journals. Still not sure it was with £60. But still cute
I love all your videos and you’re so pretty 🥺❤️
Aw thank you!! ❤
