This is awesome to see! I grew up in the Anchorage area. Homer is one of my favorite places on earth. I've done a few halibut charters out of there and it's always a blast.
@@JaggedToothTackle Something else I'd recommend if you go back up is going during the winter, probably February time and do an ice fishing charter on Lake Louise out near Glennallen.. one of the best Lake Trout experiences you'll ever have. Lake Louise is a magical place. Also you can do winter charters out of Homer for "Winter Kings" and catch king salmon in their ocean phase out offshore. Great fun. Awesome video!
Cant believe they didnt harvest the cheeks on the lings. Maybe not even the halibut too. That's why I clean my own animals. Dont rely on some shmuck to clean em for ya. Guaranteed they kept the carcasses and cleaned them further for them selves. It happens all the time.
Big halibut are becoming harder and harder to come by. Besides the big ones dont tastes as good and breed the most. We need as much babies as we can get if we want to keep our fisheries alive.
Next time it looks like I need to get on that overnight charter -- what do you guys think?
Come a long way to fish 🎣! Got to love it!

I agree - I need to go back again next year... that whole area is gorgeous!

Great action overall but i am not going to Alaska to keep a 42 inch Halibut. Should have gone for bigger one. Was it too late?
I lived there 30 years ago, never saw people keeping ones so small. Big ones must be hard to come by now a days.

What month did you guys go
July
Hello guys im new here, thank qq😂😅
Way too crowded for me personally, like he said in the movie "Jaws" " your gonna need a bigger boat " but you all caught fish.
What the name the charter
Don't you have to release the yellow eyes. It's illegal to keep in southeast Alaska
They were on charter boats, I'm sure they were in regs
@@JaggedToothTackle maybe you could ask them to verify that so that we will all know if it's harvestable
Q: "Why did you go to Alaska?"
A: "I dunno.... For the Halibut..."
You're welcome.
😂
