it would be a bit too much to call it auto tune but in live performances like this, artists tend to have a very light vocal effect on their voice to improve clarity and overall just make it sound more full and consistent. But yeah, Taylor has always avoided heavy autotune unless it provide some artistic choice
lmao! Cleaning house while Taylor songs are playing on repeat in your head. I feel you. Same thing with me. It's crazy that we're these rockers at heart, and then, BOOM! TS decides to enter the chat in our heads. lol. I just about fell over laughing when you said that.. It's happened to me so much at times that I'll just say, "Screw it, Might as well start playing some of her songs."
At her 1989 concert she did a mashup of this song and her song enchanted on a piano. You’re missing out not reacting to it. It’s unreal. Edit: also if you haven’t done ed Sheeran live on here you should. It’s just him a loop pedal and his guitar on a stage. That’s it.
When you hear her younger she has a less developed vocal talent. She works very hard on her craft to be able to perform them how she wants them delivered when she writes them. She is a perectionist. True artist
There is no autotune here but there is some reverb effect as in all live performances these days. I can also hear some compression effect which is normal for acoustic performances.
Some people say this is about Harry Styles (as most of 1989 is about Harry), he also wrote a song about her called "Him" (it got leaked last hear so he never released it back then) where he directly refers to Wildest Dreams. It's also a great song, you guys could react to it!
There’s a subgroup of swifties who call us selves Swemos. It’s Swifties + Emos. So a lot of us like rock and want her to make a rock album. There are also swifties who like hip hop and are fans of SZA, Summer Walker, and Taylor.
@@TripTipsPodcast it’s not an official page just what some swifties who like metal/hard rock/ Emo/ pop punk such as myself call ourselves. Better Revenge and Haunted are pretty much her most rock influenced songs. Better than Revenge is a response song to an old Jonas Brothers song called Much Better. Taylor and Joe Jonas dated briefly when they were 18 and he wrote the song Much Better about the girl he got with after dumping Taylor saying that the replacement was better than Taylor. Taylor wrote Better Than Revenge as a response. She also wrote Forever & Always about Joe Jonas which has a really cool electric guitar solo.
@@TripTipsPodcast If you start asking Swifties about the other music they listen to, I suspect you’ll be in for a HUGE surprise. She has so many fans, you’re gonna find groups of every genre - we already talked about our mutual love of Rush and Primus; I was a full-on metal head back in the day, still listen to Queensrÿche, Metallica, Disturbed,… but I was bopping along to an old Dave Matthew’s Band album this morning, and then loaded up Type O Negative and Covenant before taking a strong veer off into Broadway. 🤷🏼♀️ I think us older Swifties move around thru genres looking for the good music, rather than being concerned about the genre we’re listening to. And I’d theorize that as they get older, a lot of Swifties become that sort of person, in part because Swift has taught people that genre matters less than talent. 🤷🏼♀️
@@khills OMG you brought back so many memories from all the bands you listed. All my favorites. We’ll have to add some of these bands into the mix for sure.

Wait...I thought you were musicians. I just realised that you are not when you didn´t recognize reverb, and thought it was autotune. Reverb is a stylistic choice you can put in the mic to give it kind of like waves of short echo effects, it scatters the sound in different infusions wich reflects back to your ear. All rooms you walk into have different reverb, so it is kind of like re-creating the echo sound from singing in a big room or a church, but a little different. It does not have any effect on the vocal pitch quality, like autotune does. It is used on all instruments, especially drums when you record music, and has four different levels of intensity. She used it on 2 of her performances at this grammy museum concert, Out of the woods and Wildest Dreams, to create this bigger romantic emotional feeling.
@@yousra8728 Yes, it's why halls with good acoustic have been so prized for centuries. The sound comes back from the walls and naturally gives the same magical feeling, almost supernatural effect

The song is about a guy she had a fling with. They met at a movie set. She was in a place in her life where love was not working out for her so she was kinda just feeling like love wasn't meant to last forever so at least let's have some good memories.
That’s just one underground theory. Most people agree that it’s about Harry Styles, as are most of the songs on her 1989 album. They had an on/off relationship that clearly had a profound effect on both of them (they’ve both written about it). Harry is one of her few ex’s that is a decent human and she writes about him in a way that’s bittersweet and melancholy. She knew the relationship would end but wanted to be remembered fondly by him.
Please react to Eyes Open (Taylor’s Version) and Safe & Sound (Taylor’s Version). Both songs were first written and recorded back in 2012 for the Hunger Games Movie.

Oh, did you know Metallica and Miley Cyrus performed together relatively recently? That might be Of Interest to you. 😉 She sang Nothing Else Matters with them.
I'll tell you EXACTLY what this song is about. Taylor wrote this song as a form of insurance. Just in case I ever figured it out. Bitch has been stalking me on facebook for 15 years! -Sean Koenig
I’m not suggesting it’s done here, but live auto tune is a thing. Also, it’s no longer uncommon for live performances to be auto tuned in post production. Taylor’s not an overly talented vocalist, but she can sing, and has an exceptionally pleasant voice. Her greatest talent is likely writing.
Definitely why I became a fan. I love her writing! I love her as a person as well. She's a strong woman. Funny too. Lord knows they've tried to drag her down so many times, but she seems invincible at this point. Yes, she's been hurt, but she always bounces back better than ever.
There's a difference between saying not overly talented and yet being able to deliver a song. Taylor deliver's a song like miles davis played the trumpet. It's not about technique and she has quite a bit of that. It's about capturing an emotion, a feel, a vibe and communicating it through sound. It's about phrasing and it's about being true to yourself, not being a phony. It's also about delivering on the promise and holding yourself to an extremely high standard of musical quality. Examining every note until it's just the exact way you need it to be. Only a very rare few can do it day in and day out and hold themselves to that level of excellence. Frank Sinatra - Stevie Wonder - Paul McCartney - each legend has their own way of making it happen.
Definitely some electronic reverb and probably a bit of auto tune. I don't understand why fans get so defensive about this. She is definitely a seamless performer.
@@TripTipsPodcast yeah. Modern fandoms are ridiculous. There has to be a place for reasonable critique on any artist or performer. Pretending anyone is perfect is hella weird to me.
