Dear Amber, 1) Loki is the Norse God of Mischief so it's in his nature to be deceitful and manipulative. 2) If you thought Thor was visually spectacular then I believe the appropriate expression is "You ain't seen nuthin' yet". 😊
Loki is also known as “Coyote” or “Trixter” in SW Native American lore. Always amazed me that so many cultures have the same myths across the planet…..having never met centuries ago. Makes you think……..
As someone who has been reading comics since the age of 8, an was student of Walt Simonson (writer/artist on Thor from 1983-1986) I have to agree. Tom is fantastic in the role.

The guy with the bow is Hawkeye…you’ll see more him of very soon! And Loki’s spear is actually Odin’s spear. It is powered by the Odinforce, according to the comic books.
I can't remember the name of the spear, but his eight legged horse is Slepnir, and his two ravens are Hugin and Munin (I may have misspelled the names but you get the picture).
Honestly, I've been a Hawkeye fan since befinning to read the Avengers in the 80's and getting sweet 70's back issues. He is the heart of the Avengers.
Most people love Loki as a villain or antihero right from the beginning... but it will be cool to see if he grows on you at all over the years. He's got one of the best character arcs of anyone in the MCU but it will take long time to truly pay off.

I think you may be the first reviewer that I've run across who truly loved the first Thor film, and also saw Loki for who I believe he was. And being that Thor is my favorite Marvel character from growing up, your review put an extra smile on my face. As for the MCU in general, you're just scratching the surface. Can't wait to see you react to Captain America next.

7:17-Credit Marvel legend Jack " King" Kirby for the stunning images of Asgard, Amber..It's sad he died before this film was made, but no doubt he'd have been so proud..looked just like his art come to life. Nice. Amber, it's a joy to watch this with you. You're clearly a parent, as you immediately understand all the key characters in this. You're an astute observer. Knowing that, you're really going to enjoy all the upcoming stories and characters.
The director of this movie is Kenneth Branagh. The movie seems a bit Shakespearean possibly because Kenneth Branagh has performed in dozens of Shakespeare plays and starred directed in Hamlet, Henry V, and others. (Not to mention a great movie about reincarnation called "Dead Again" with Robin Williams as a disgraced former psychiatrist.)
A few points of clarification for ya! It is Norse mythology. Stellan Skaarsgard, who plays the father figure professor, is a famous Norwegian actor and part of an acting dynasty. I enjoyed the reaction, but think my favorite thing was when you talked about how you got credit with your son for knowing how to react to Ironman's hand blast. That brought back memories (but for me and my son it was Harry Potter). I really appreciated that touch of the real relating to finding commonalities with kids. 🙂
You've entered a really good string of movies here , I'm right here with you and it's going to be a good journey for you. Best of luck on your new TH-cam channel.

In the comics he's also the reason the Avengers were formed. In at least one story he deliberately acts as a villain so that the Avengers would be formed so they would be available to stop some other calamity. Loki is a complicated guy.
Some info on Thor's crew: 1. The guys, Fandral, Hogun & Voltstagg are known as the 'Warriors Three'. They are original creations of Marvel Comics. They don't have a mythological counterpart. -Fandral is supposed to be Marvel's version of Errol Flynn, a golden age actor from the 30s & 40s, who was known for his swashbuckling roles such as Robin Hood, etc. -Hogun, the Grim was based on 70s action star, Charles Bronson (Deathwish). In the comics, Hogun has a dour and serious attitude, hence 'The Grim" added to his moniker. -Voltstagg is the comedy relief known for his huge appetite and large girth. He has many children, but I believe you only see them in a MCU deleted scene. He was based on the Shakespeare, Falstaff character from his plays. 2. Sif, the female member of Thor's crew, is from Norse mythology. She is an Earth goddess. But in Marvel Comics she is a renowned highly skilled fighter and is one of Thor's closest friends.
Watching these movies again and experiencing them with you as a first timer is amazing! I love how excited you are for each one. I really hope no one posts spoilers. On the post credit scene video you are 100% right, the post credit scenes got us all so pumped up for the next film. I'm super excited for the next two reactions.
Anthony Hopkins played Odin. He also played Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs. Jane was played by Natalie Portman, who also played Padmé Amidala, the mother of Luke Skywalker, and Princess Leia in Star Wars. The assistant was Kat Dennings from Two Broke Girls. You'll love Dr. Strange!
@@ChrisKyle-om5wi Sir Anthony Hopkins is one of the finest actors on stage and screen of his, or indeed any, generation. However I should have made it clear that I was referring to the choice of Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange. On the whole, I think the MCU casting has been tremendously successful.
Oh, i LOVED Circe! Amazing book which I listened to the audio version. You felt like you were sitting on a Greek island around a campfire listening to Circe tell you her story personally. Extremely well written, and the reader had the perfect voice and attitude to pull it off.
I say this with respect to my Marvel loving folks. Can we let Amber figure out and discover some of these side characters and future movie character development arcs on her own. I feel like some are giving light spoilers and hints as to what's to come. I say this respectfully .✌🏾❤️
The way Thor speaks, there's a reason why It sounds Shakespearean right? Well, the director for this is Kenneth Branagh, who is a veteran in theater, especially Shakespeare, particularly Henry V and King Lear i believe He brought about that feel to the dialogue you hear
I LOVE your reaction to this. ❤ The first Thor movie is always overlooked. People found it too dramatic, not as fun as Iron Man. The second Thor really had the fans against these movies. Personally, I ADORE this first Thor movie! It’s a favourite of mine, top 3 of the entire Marvel universe. BECAUSE of the drama, which was so perfectly told and acted. The director also directed (and acted in) possibly the best version of Hamlet ever put on screen, so you can see why this was so suited to him.
Amber. I have to admit when you said you were getting into the MCU I didn’t quite believe you at first but now I’m convinced and I’m so happy. If you like what’s going on now you wait. To me and so many others it’s going to get epic. I’m not going to spoil anything but remember when Odin say “ who ever is worthy shall hold the hammer “. File that in the back of your mind 😊. So now that you’re into the MCU and Game of Thrones I’m gonna join your Patreon so I can join the ride on both. The MCU is back up and going now with the movies Deadpool/Wolverine and 3 more MCU movies this year leading to more Avengers in the next 2-3 years. Enjoy
Hi Amber, been asking for a reaction to Wesley Snipes' "Blade" for a long time since you were on the "other" channel. It was the first successful live action movie based on a Marvel character. Great action, lot of renewed interest since Deadpool and Wolverine. Captain America is the best origin story BTW.
You said you love Greek mythology...well this is Norse Mythology, from the Vikings and also very fascinating! Thor is the Norse God of Thunder and in the comics often fought Hercules, even though they were both heroes. Thor was the 2nd comic book I ever had, at the age of 6, and because of the way he talks, I became a good reader and familiar with big fancy words. I used to read my comics and have a dictionary beside me so I could look up the meanings of some of the terms.
Eternals is complete garbage. The characters got gender bended and other Dizznee stupidity. Not fpllowed continuity at all. Ok for casuals qho don't know better, but for Old Schoolers, crap. @@nooneofconsequence1251
@nooneofconsequence1251 I did notice all the previous Hulks were able to make an appearance, including Bill Bixby. It was definitely my first time watching, but it was very good !!
@@Keedeeg I think you mean Lou Ferrigno? Unless there's a cameo I never noticed before. Bixby played David (Bruce) Banner in the 70s Hulk TV series. Ferrigno, a professional body builder, played the Hulk in the same series. Because they didn't have CGI.
@@nooneofconsequence1251 No, I meant Bixby, but I realize now that he's been gone quite awhile now. I saw someone that looked similar to him, I suppose. I definitely saw Lou. Thanks. 🙂
Love the outfit Amber. The bits of romance sprinkled into these hero stories adds some spice to the characters. As a bonus, there are many stories to get to know them and their love interests. Slow smoking the romance makes for a better climax to the story’s conclusion. Falling in love with the characters over time builds a stronger bond with them and creates more empathy for them. Empathy is one of your super powers Amber. Love ya! ✌️🥰🌹
I think the easiest way to look at Loki is that he's the god of Mischief. His plans basically always involve betrayal and are selfish. But it doesn't make him always evil.
Excellent analysis! I have always known him as the god of mischief, but you rarely hear that nowadays. And like you said, being mishievious does not always equal being evil.
@@lajosmiklos8863Loki is a straight up villain who sometimes fights on the goood side. Hes never been an antihero even the watered down weak mcu version is still a villain. An anti hero would be like the punisher.
i don't know if anyone has addressed this yet but: 1. The Frost Giant attempting to kill Odin at the end of the film and killed by Loki, is Loki's biological father, Laufrey. Thor's last name is Odinson (son of Odin) while Loki's last name has alternated between Odinson and Laufreyson (son of Laufrey). 2. The man with the bow and arrow who was aiming at Thor when he attempted to pull the hammer from the stone is a superhero character named Hawkeye. You will see him again soon in The Avengers.
Amber, if you haven't already seen it, you would absolutely LOVE the Wonder Woman movies! They're based in Greek mythology & the GIRL POWER energy is off the charts! As a mom of girls, it's a must watch ❤
The dark haired actress who tazed Thor is Kat Dennings. She has had a career in Film and TV. She played a goth college sorority girl character in the movie House Bunny staring Anna Faris. She also was a co star in the TV series 2 Broke Girls.
You are referring to the sword and the stone. Thor’s hammer isn’t stuck in the rock, Oden told the hammer that only someone worthy of Thor’s power can wield it. So it will be where it landed until someone worthy can pick it up. Pay attention to that..because at some point….it comes into play outside of Thor.
Loki is the God of Mischief, and he is absolutely gonna grow on you. He is definitely a fan favorite. He won me over and now he is my favorite next to Tony/Iron Man. Def my favorite Villain.
10:09 that, Amber, is called Duplication Casting. Not to be confused with any other illusion based power😉😂...IYKYK😉😉😜 The big guy with the red beard is Volstagg the Voluminous and the woman is Lady Sif, whose hair is black as midnight because Loki changed it from golden blonde against her will
The actress you wondered about is Kat Dennings. And yes she was on TV. She stared in the sitcom Two Broke Girls. Ohh! Disneyland. I think that you might be confusing the scene with the people trying to lift Thors hammer with the legend of King Arthur. Remember the Knights of the Round Table, Excalibur and Camelot? Arthur pulled Excalibur(sword) from the stone and became king of England. 🙂
This is based in Norse Mythology, which is my favorite. The most recent book was "Norse Mythology" by Neil Gaiman. My favorite Greek myth was the Twelve Labors of Hercules.
Kat Dennings is from "Two broke girls" she's been in a lot of different movies as well as having a reoccurring role in the marvel series and Natalie Portman also has several movies under her belt, she's also in some Star Wars films but "Garden State" and "The Professional" are what she's well known for, also "V for Vendetta".
My favorite Greek myth is the story if Echo and Narcissus. Lovie that story. Also the back story of Medusa. The stories of Theseus are great also. This movie made deep further into Nordic Mythology. Love this movie. Great reaction Amber and we will see you in the next one.
I already know that I'm going to love this reaction! 😊 That's Natalie Portman who plays Jane Foster. She played Padmè Amidala in the "Star Wars" prequel trilogy. Fun Fact: Tom Hiddleston(Loki)originally auditioned for the role of Thor. But got the role of Thor’s brother Loki instead. He's so perfect for that role! 18:02 Yay! You caught the Stan Lee cameo. 19:40 - 20:53 One of the best scenes in the movie. Such a fantastic performance by both Tom Hiddleston and Anthony Hopkins. 27:25 This is the MCU debut of Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye. Loki may be a villian. But Tom Hiddleston plays him to perfection. As for the post-credit: Loki was manipulating Erik Selvig's mind. And it's always great to see Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury pop up. Up Next: "Captain America: The First Avenger"(2011) Looking forward to your next reaction. 😊
Loki doesn't get any bigger because he was a runt at birth. That's why as a baby he was left to die, because he was too "small and weak". Odin found him and saved him. So the runt of a frost giant is the size of a normal man to us 😂

Monday (Moon day), Tuesday (Tyr's or Tiw's/Tew's , Day the God of war) Wednesday (Woden's day Thor's daddy Woden also referred to as Oden) Thursday (Thor's Day the God of thunder!) Friday (Frigg’s-day, Wodens wife and Thor's mother) Saturday (Saturns day) Sunday ( the day of the sun)..
The seven days of the week pertain to the Greek gods, in order, Sol, Luna, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn, the seven celestial bodies known to the ancients.
@@JaDav40 so fascinating, it seems there was Norse influence on some languages. French follows that Roman pattern but English has four replacements for Norse gods and German has three but Wednesday is Mittwoch [midweek] lol

Thor - God of thunder
I thought Thor was the god of hammers and lord of sparkles.
Strange!
Another piece of perfect casting.
@user-dh5bnafe4bHopkins also played Burt Munro.
@@ChrisKyle-om5wi
Sir Anthony Hopkins is one of the finest actors on stage and screen of his, or indeed any, generation. However I should have made it clear that I was referring to the choice of Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange. On the whole, I think the MCU casting has been tremendously successful.
@user-dh5bnafe4b I agree. Cumberbatch was a great choice.
Oh, i LOVED Circe! Amazing book which I listened to the audio version. You felt like you were sitting on a Greek island around a campfire listening to Circe tell you her story personally. Extremely well written, and the reader had the perfect voice and attitude to pull it off.
@@KenOtwell oh now I want to go listen to the audio version!
@@AmberReacts24 You should! (After you finish the MCU movies... I'm binging with you.)
Have seen every one off these movies 40- 50 times or more , but thru your eyes I have gotten a new brighter look , THANKS. AMBER ♥️♥️
I'm glad you loved Thor!⚡️It's also one of my favorites. Next up, Captain America. I think you'll love that one too
I say this with respect to my Marvel loving folks. Can we let Amber figure out and discover some of these side characters and future movie character development arcs on her own. I feel like some are giving light spoilers and hints as to what's to come. I say this respectfully .✌🏾❤️
"I'm a few minutes in and I can tell this is going to be my favorite Marvel movie"....buckle in Amber.
The way Thor speaks, there's a reason why
It sounds Shakespearean right? Well, the director for this is Kenneth Branagh, who is a veteran in theater, especially Shakespeare, particularly Henry V and King Lear i believe
He brought about that feel to the dialogue you hear
I completely forgot about Kenneth Branaugh directing it.
I had found out recently that he does the voice of the distress call at the beginning of Infinity War. That was cool bringing him back for that.
Or to tie this to another franchise: this movie was directed by Gilderoy Lockhart ;)
The armor is called The Destroyer. So yes it’s total destruction.
Yay!! You even had me watching The Hulk last night because of your reaction.
Enjoy the ride!! ❤🎉😊
The Incredible Hulk was the most underrated movie in the MCU for over a decade until Eternals came out and took the title away.
Thanks. 🙂
"Loki's a conundrum." You have no idea, Amber!!
Love ya! ✌️🥰🌹
@34:03 “We drank. We fought. He made his ancestors proud.” It’s one of my favorite moments too. 🤣🤣
Actually, Loki is what is referred to in the comic book world as an “anti-hero”; neither superhero nor villain.
@@lajosmiklos8863Loki is a straight up villain who sometimes fights on the goood side. Hes never been an antihero even the watered down weak mcu version is still a villain. An anti hero would be like the punisher.
@ Aw! Too bad Stan Lee is dead, otherwise you could have told him he is wrong.
My Queen, I am a very busy man but, I enjoy your reaction videos. I see them when I can and thank you. STAY STRONG, GODS BLESSINGS. GAP OUT, peace
i don't know if anyone has addressed this yet but:
And also why Thor called Agent Coulson "Son of Coul" near the end.
@@Rebelrocker69 an underappreciated moment,. Thor's language is hilariously on-point.
Amber, if you haven't already seen it, you would absolutely LOVE the Wonder Woman movies!
They're based in Greek mythology & the GIRL POWER energy is off the charts! As a mom of girls, it's a must watch ❤
Loving the MCU reactions. Can't wait until you get to the Avengers!
Excalibur was the sword given to Arthur by the Lady in the Lake. The sword in the stone was a different sword.
So true
Don't spoil things like that. There is no reason to say that she wasn't going to miss it.
She was comparing, not saying it was.
@@williamroper5422She watched this a few days ago, lol
Already loving your reaction, talking to the screen as if they can hear you very like me lol x
Not really a spoiler, but just a little hint that your love of Greek Mythology will eventually be entertained in the future...😋
The bow and arrow guy is the Avenger, Hawkeye.
Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey jr, and Chris Evans. They couldn’t have cast these 3 any better.
why does scar jo get no widow love? seriously hard to imagine anyone else playing her
The original Avengers were flawless casting, and most everyone since too.
Avengers Assemble?? no... FLAME ON!🤣🤣🤣
@vkdeen7570 very true.
21:18 Chris improved that part where he slams the coffee cup down, and the reactions from everyone are genuine because nobody was expecting it lol
I Cant believe you didn't recognize queen Amadala!!!!!!!
I love watching many reactions, but your enthusiasm is so infectious since starting the MCU.
Along with RDJ being cast as Tony Stark, Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin was PERFECT.
"One day I'm going to try a boilermaker ... I don't know that's a big drink I don't think I am" 😂😂😂
Loki is the God of Mischief, and he is absolutely gonna grow on you. He is definitely a fan favorite. He won me over and now he is my favorite next to Tony/Iron Man. Def my favorite Villain.
When i saw this movie for the first time i thought why is Loki being played by figure skater Johnny Weir? 🤣
10:09 that, Amber, is called Duplication Casting. Not to be confused with any other illusion based power😉😂...IYKYK😉😉😜
The big guy with the red beard is Volstagg the Voluminous and the woman is Lady Sif, whose hair is black as midnight because Loki changed it from golden blonde against her will
Yay! my face literally lights up when I see you release a new reaction. I am really enjoying this ride with you.
I'm currently reading The Poetic Edda. Very interesting.
"American Gods" (also by Neil Gaimon) is a good one to check out as well, both the book and the short lived tv adaptation.
Team Loki... He isn't evil he's the God of Mischief. Thanks
Team Loki all the way!
That's Natalie Portman who plays Jane Foster.
Up Next: "Captain America: The First Avenger"(2011)
Looking forward to your next reaction. 😊
Amber has the best smile it makes her reactions so much fun to watch
Love the whole setting of Thor⚒️. Hemsworth, Portman, Hiddleston & Hopkins are great👌 Thank you for this!!
Loving these and GOT. You got two amazing worlds. Watching your reactions like this has me thinking Loki is Little Finger with magic
Loki doesn't get any bigger because he was a runt at birth. That's why as a baby he was left to die, because he was too "small and weak". Odin found him and saved him. So the runt of a frost giant is the size of a normal man to us 😂
it's a BS argument by narc-Odin, seriously his reason changes in the sequel. He's a lying loser.
@radicalreactions1633 lol. If you say so. I won't argue with ya, I was just informing on why loki was left to die
Ok, that's it. I'm subbing to your patreon.
A few days ago, you randomly came up on my TH-cam suggested. It was for Iron Man. I watched it, and I liked what I saw. I watched your Iron Man 2 reaction, and I liked what I saw. Now I watched your Thor reaction, and I liked what I saw. You seem genuine, and I want to see your journey through the MCU in full. So tomorrow, I'm subscribing and will continue with Capt. America! See you on Patreon!
Thors hammer (Mijolnir is the hammers name) wasn't stuck in the stone, only someone worthy of the power of Thor can lift the hammer
She's mixing it up with the "sword in the stone", the legends of King Arthur and Camelot. They do have their similarities.
@kev7161 no I get that, that's why I made my comment
Amber talking about Easter eggs just reminds me of Michael Scott saying “I love inside jokes, i would like to be part of one one day “
Sheesh, I had to stop watching a video of a Brit gentleman making delicious-looking Scotch Pies to jump straight into this! I'm such a nerd... lol
Loki's arc over the phases of the MCU is pretty good! You'll grow to like him.
Came here to say this, well done! It was a revelation when I learned the source of the day names.
The seven days of the week pertain to the Greek gods, in order, Sol, Luna, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn, the seven celestial bodies known to the ancients.
LOL.. I derailed a class for a half-hour one time, trying to remember Tyr.
@@JaDav40 so fascinating, it seems there was Norse influence on some languages. French follows that Roman pattern but English has four replacements for Norse gods and German has three but Wednesday is Mittwoch [midweek] lol
@@JaDav40 this is true for most of the western world but for England, Scotland, Ireland and America, the Norse gods are remembered!
Anthony Hopkins intense acting, along with his famous yell towards Hiddleston/Loki which was improvised caught the actors off guard. One must be worthy to lift Mjölnir
