Finally getting the Acerbis 3.7 gallon tank finished up by installing a raptor petcock. Please check out Friday'sThe Bomb! - / @fridaysthebomb Thanks for watching!!
Thank you for your time. I put a small push-button light under the tank to see how much gas I had at night, and it looks so cool. I have the same tank on my DRZ.
Greetings, As always another excellent detailed video production 🇺🇲🍾🎉🇺🇲 Do you think if I want to install a right side petcock (to use all the gasoline in the tank) is possible to be done? Thank you so much for assisting me and keep producing more videos about the drz
Yep! I think lights are going to be the next mod for sure. Just need to try to find the right ones that I like that aren't junk. Some of them just can't handle the vibration of a motorcycle, especially a thumper. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
I have the stock petcock and if I drop the bike it becomes flooded and the bike won’t start for a while. Have you had this issue and will the stock petcock with the vaccum pump be the fix I need?
got this tank for my 2007 drz400sm and i cant get the seat to fit with the new tank, do u know if the “sm” models have a different seat than the “s” models
I'm not sure since I have never owned an SM but I'd say there the same. Just be sure the tank is seated properly. With that being said I do have to bend my seat a tad when putting the hook into it from the tank. Thanks for watching!
how does the gas get from the right side to the left side of the tank, it looks like it is separated by the hump where the tank fits over the bike frame?
Well the old model had two petcocks with a hose that connect them that runs under the frame. Not sure why they did away with it, but I assume it's just easier to deal with one. So currently to get the last bit from the right side you would have to stop and lean the bike over a bit. Thanks for watching MoT!!
Well I was hoping your vid showed the tank install. I’m trying to remove a Safari 17L tank. There must be a hidden bolt somewhere, I can’t get the blooding thing off. Anyways...
Well stock tank with my jetted carb got me to 85 miles before reserve. After reserve it was 125 or so if I remember correctly. Now I'm hoping I will get close to 200. We will see on my 2 day trip next weekend for sure. Thanks for watching!!!!
@@MachineSwede For me it's a must on any bike. Your reserve capacity does go down, but you can swap over the tube from the original petcock for a longer reserve. I've never had a problem with mine so I left it as is.
@@Keith1212 Good to know. I have the Acerbis tank sitting in the garage for my '15 DRZ-S and just grabbed one of these to add on to it. Thanks for the help!
@@Keith1212 Do you find that the fuel doesn't drain out of the lowest part of the right side of the tank? Or is the tank designed so the last of the fuel reaches the petcock without getting "stuck" in the other side?
if your new tank has on off and reserve then you won't need it. So you will cap it off on the carb. You can get rubber nipples to cap it from the autoparts store.
Nothing I could do about debris in the tank. Afterwards I rinsed it with clean gas several times and poured it out of the large filler hole in the top. Not too worried about it considering the petcock it self has a screen on it for anything that might not have came out in the rinse. Thanks for watching!

If push comes to shove, you can always drill out and epoxy 2 collars in the tank holes, as solid attachment points for a petcock.

Thats a cool tank. Lights would come in handy.

Super helpful video, thanks!

Got a link for your gas filter bag or gas cap too? My Acerbis cap is terrible to thread

My question. Did it cause the ripples in the seat cause bigger tank?

I got longer screws and put 3 washers under for a bit extra room.
Hey man where did you get the tank sock fuel filter?
procycle.us Thanks for watching!
Hey, are you talking about the vacuum line for the old petcock I know about that one I’m talking about the one that’s at rear of tank?
What model of Twin Air insert fuel filter that you are using?
How do you get the fuel out of the right side reservoir?
This model only has one reservoir.
Haha. You have to lay bike over on left side to get fuel on petcock side
what should I do with the vacuum hose now that I have the new petcock
Cap it off. I used a rubber vacuum hose cap that you can get at auto parts store. Thanks for watching
So what size tank is this? Might have been helpful to mention

How much will that extend your fuel range?

Great video, how many miles did you end up getting per tank ?
Where did you get the fuel tank insert filter? I'm trying to find one for my Acerbis fuel tank. Do you have a part number?

Iis that "Raptor petcock" just the petcock from your original tank on the DRZ?
nope it's a separate petcock that doesn't use the vacuum hose on the carburetor
@@Keith1212 I think it's part number 5LP-24500-01. Are you happy with it? How much reserve capacity would you say you get with it?

Just bought 3,9 for my 2003 Drz400s what did you do with the other line that was connected to back of tank

When enlarging the petcock opening, how did you keep debris from getting inside the tank or how did you go about cleaning the tank?
