The DR650 is better. Bigger less complicated engine and a lower seat height. The DR650 and the Honda XR650L are the last two large displacement air cooled carbureted dual sports you can get. The Hondas seat is considerably higher.
Drz400 is a fantastic bike, I’ve had one for a few years now, I got it with 1500 miles on it, now it has over 25,000 miles, I beat it to death and change the oil once a year and it’s never let me down, other than a frayed clutch cable, all I’ve replaced are tires, it’s a cheap and almost zero maintenance bike that’s super fun, I love my Yamaha fz07 but if I could only keep one bike, I’d keep the Drz
@@OkOk-wl7le yea usually, I change the oil in the spring and just add oil when it burns some up, every few thousand miles I’ll end up adding a quart so it’s almost like it’s getting fresh oil all the time 🤣, I’ve had the bike since 1600 miles, it’s now at about 30,000 and rides as good as the day I bought it
Definitely would not get your bike and go through the trouble of making an awesome bike into a supper mutto, that thing is an off road beast constant oil changes would be such a hassle for people that ride more than 300 miles just on a weekend. My DRZ400 is just fine being an old school carburetor bike it is a proven platform with many years to prove it, if the carb was the problem it wouldn’t sell for so long.
I bought my Drz400sm used with all the mods done already. Would be cool to have fuel injection and a 6th gear but it actually does pretty good on the highway at about 75 for a long period of time. Cycle cruza you got a awesome bike but if I had to choose which one I would ride cross country I would choose the Drz400sm anyday over your maintenance monster.✌️
@@GODSWORD11hey man quick question how much was it out the door I’m in the Jersey area and looking to buy new just I had a 701 and sold it as it was beyond fast for me , I don’t care for the tech I want to learn at my pace
Those other two bikes aren't even in the same price range as the drz lol. I agree I wish they would have fuel injected it, but everything is cheap to replace on the drz400 because they have been around for a while. A big bore kit is dirt cheap lol and can be done at home. But I guess that depends on the person whether they pay shops to do work or do it themselves. Im less of a buy it and pay someone else to fix it and more of a get my hands dirty kind of guy.
Yeah the DRZ is much cheaper and is easy to work on. I never understood why Suzuki didn't bring the FI over to the US. Probably because the bike is grandfathered in and they don't want to have to deal with meeting emissions standards bs. It keeps production cheap and they are still turning a profit.
CC should have bought a DRZ400sm!!! And left your YZ450F for the dirt and trails and MX track. That bike is a beast in the dirt. The street doesn’t do YZ justice!!
Well a month ago i bought the 2021 DRZ 400sm and its my first bike. I really love it and it has a good low end power. Now the KLX 300sm came very close. I love the price of the klx, i like its a 6 speed , fuel injected and looks. Buut a couple things that made me buy the DRZ. 1) its been out a long time. All these years of fixing , trouble shoot , upgrades and knowledge is at ur finger tips. And the bike is tried and true. As for the klx its a new engine and not a whole lot of mods. And typically i avoid first model years of anything. 2) the DRZ is faster which is no brainier. From i heard the klx power is at the mid rage vs the low end power of the DRZ. 3) im a big guy. I weigh around 240 lbs and the DRZ can carry my fat ass with no problems lol. And i seen a video of the drz dual sport carrying a 300 lb man uphill offroad and in high attitude. That was the biggest sold for me. The klx i honestly dont know how good it will do with a heavy rider in highway speeds / just wiping around. Luckly the drz is been around to know its heavy friendly. Also the drz only weighs 20 lbs heaver then the klx which tbh is not really a big deal. Over all i dont regret getting a DRZ and its a bike i really recommend for any rider . plus not expensive to maintain. Also 3 bikers at work when i told them what type of bike i want. Im not joking but they said get the DRZ. Only 1 biker used to have a DRZ and the other 2 never owned one.
I don't get why people bitch about carbs. Almost all of my bikes have had them, never had any issues. My 2016 DRZ400sm with the fcr carb runs way better than my 2022 KLX300 dual sport which is fuel injected.
I'm a proud owner of a DrRZ400SM and that thing is bulletproof. Great for driving around town, but I live about 1h away from the mountain roads and it really gets old real fast! Once at the twisties it's pure adrenaline and fun, specially on technical sections. I'm looking into upgrading to an XR600R or an XR650R, not considering the KTM 690 as they have a bad reputation around this parts regarding reliability. I'm also lusting for that sweet 4 cylinder sound, so may as well get a super-naked hehehe
DRZ400SM is my 6th bike and one of if not my favorite so far. All my other bikes were 600’s and 1000’s. Loved the sport bikes but the DRZ allows me to do all the wheelie shenanigans I did on the sport bikes but on a much lighter bike that is a lot more fun around town and for a fraction of the cost. I’m liking it so much that I doubt I’ll ever get another sportbike. DRZ’s are where it’s at for being an urban hooligan on a reliable and affordable bike.
Your comment pretty much has the only two super Moto’s worth buying. The DRV is the best bang for your buck. The Husqvarna 701 is what a grown-up gets . Your YZ conversion is a great bike because of its power but a money pit if you driving on the road consistently.
All I can say is, get a decent used DRZ 400sm, put the 440 Athena kit and FCR 39 pumper carb with a decent exhaust and you'll have anywhere ebetween 50 and 55 HP and the engine is bulletproof as long as you maintain it properly. It may be alittle heavier than some other supermotos but the weight helps with stability on the highway.
I did 27k miles on my drz400sm. Never had and issues or carb issues. Only had to change that oil, and loctite the stator bolts. It does need a change after all the years. It’s a perfect bike just needs be updated
When I was shopping for a motorcycle last year, I watched a ton of your vids. Pretty much sold me on the super moto with your 2019 Yamaha conversion. I checked out all the SMs. Being 50 I wanted reliability number 1 so no mods. I want to keep it bone stock for reliability reasons. No pipe, no fuel management. I'll change the tires, but other than that, bone stoke. Here in Canuckistan we have chokes that help start it in the winter if your into that. The 6th gear thing.. okay I get it. Although I never had a 6th gear bike before so you don't miss what you never had. Cost difference is huge between models. Also in your MT-07 vid with the throttle by wire was a complete turn off for me. I like the snappy feel the cable gives. Annnyyy ways rambling on here. I went with Doctor Zed and enjoy every one of my therapy sessions.
I don't mind carbs, don't need a programmer to tune, just a screw driver. Had a KLR for the longest time. Super easy to work on. FI is nice for sure. I do like the throttle feel on a carb bike better than a FI bike. KLX 300 will definitely need a look
First of all, I would never even consider buying a bike WITHOUT a carburetor. I have 6 carbureted bikes and will be keeping all of them. No EFI for me. No BS either. And no "rider modes" Just NO computers PERIOD. I would love to have a Suzuki DRZ400SM, but I would need a ladder to get on and off it. And whatever you do, stay FAR away from European bikes. You think that Yamaha YZ is expensive to maintain? It's dirt cheap compared to European bikes.
@@rotay4900 European bikes have way more complicated computerized technology than Japanese bikes, and the quality is much worse. I'm talking about BMW, KTM, and Ducati in particular. Just find a list of bike brands rated by reliability. Yamaha will be at the top, and BMW will be at the bottom. Harley Davidson is right between the European brands and Japanese brands, but I ride one anyway, just because I like them. Mine is over 20 years old, one of the last EVO engined bikes they made, so it is a little more reliable than what they make today. Back in the '60s and early '70s, BMWs were very reliable. But not any more.
CycleCruza have you ridden a DRZ? I have had and still have a converted supermoto. I also have a DRZ . I had it a while before I got bored with the lack of power so I modified it. I'm not bored anymore! You're welcome to ride it anytime
Drz's can take more of a beating tho. Also if you wanted "fuel injection" on one you could always just upgrade to the lectron carb. The down fall on the ol deezer is it's weight. She thicc 🙌🏽
Just to give some small advice, all the maintenance that all racing bikes are suggested by the manufacturer is for racing purposes. I have put a oil cooler on my 2005 KTM EXC 525 & I ride about 1000 miles a year & the machine is as strong as it ever has been. I change the oil once a year. I had the machine die on me once, luckily not far from home & I couldn’t get it started again in the second year of ownership. I took it to my dealer & it just needed a valve adjustment. No damage was done & the mechanic said that most race bikes need that first adjustment early or the machine does what it did. So I asked when should I get it adjusted again? He said the minute it doesn’t want to start easy that that was the indicator for a valve adjustment. He also said that once the bike is broken in that it could be years before another adjustment would be needed. I haven’t had to get a valve adjustment since. So I asked him when would I need a new top end job? His answer was until I feel a power loss, which with the small amount of riding I do it could be years. Well I’m nearing 16000 miles, 16 years & it’s as strong as ever leaving sport bikes at every turn signal in my dust & they are dumb struck not believeing they just got smoked by a single cylinder dirt bike. Yes change your oil often, but an $100 oil cooler will extend your need for oil changes & give you peace of mind knowing the oil is a lot cooler & not breaking down chemically. It only adds maybe a pound of weight. You will not notice that pound. Again $100 of insurance & a machine that will last a long time with less maintenance!!!!
I went to a Team Green test ride and I tested a Kawasaki 300 SM. It was a great little bike and I was VERY impressed with its cornering ability and agility .I think its weak point is its lack of power but for a beginner rider it is adequate. It may be a good trainer for a year before trading it in for a 690 or 701.
I'm interested in that bike. Its like the sport utility jack of All trades bikes. I've watched the videos of the Australian guy that pretty much has all the mods figured out for that bike. To improve it cheaply and efficiently. How do u like it?
@@alphacapo It's really solid. You do have to do a bit of work to make it near indestructible but, after that it's awesome. The suspension is really soft but it works alright for trails and stuff. Really fun in the Twisties. Power is down low in the rev range. Can power wheelie with the right technique. If you can find one for less then 3-4 k I'd go for it no problem. I'm probably going to get a more street oriented tire on it and treat it like a supermoto!
@@kingsammy1105 yes absolutely. Warp 9 racing makes street oriented sumo wheels. You can also just buy street tires and mount them on the stock wheels. Cruisers share the wheel size so you can get tires meant for cruisers and mount them on your dr.
Ive got a DRZ, had 30+ sport bikes, standards etc, I love my DRZ.. I ride 60/40 dirt/street.. best part is its super fun and super cheap insurance as its under 401cc.. after that its expensive in BC Canada
I picked up a 2021 DRZ400SM, first bike, I'm 6"6' and that's one of the main reasons I got it, I couldn't fit on even a KTM Duke 390. It's been an awesome bike. It's so much fun to wind it out on the backroads and still not really be going too fast to miss a corner. Yeah it's carbureted, but that also makes it easy to work on, even if you can't do it yourself, just about every shop knows a carb. And the price point and maintenance is also what attracted me. First time rider, the 701 I think is just too powerful for a beginner. That will be my next bike for sure, but the DRZ isn't a bad option at all for first time riders :)
This is the best second bike you could ever own period, here in the UK I have a 2005 with low mileage absolutely love the easy maintenance, upgrade mods and ride experiences in summer, I am 50 plus with a mature head and feel an 18 age hooligan on this, live life to the max 😃
CRF250L 2020 max fuel economy no power no problems weight is no issue on the streets no maintenance handling is a dream lanesplittin like there's no tomorrow black fairings look sick
Listen the bike you riding is good but just because you don’t like the drz400 that doesn’t mean is a bad bike . Trust me is one of the best bike ever . Way better the that 450 you riding
CYCLE Cruza, used to watch you & lost ya since your van build for the WR250 trips? Buying one of the 4 Big Brands based on your intent for riding and you really can't go wrong. Each brand has it's own strengths/weaknesses so after defining how you plan to use a bike, buy one. Then pick a channel who is doing the upgrades you want. Glad to have found you again...... peace
Cuz they look badass! look at the Ducati Street Classic 1000 or the Honda cb550 cafe racers or the triumph Thruxton. Even the XSR series by Yamaha is badass. The fz’s have some weird transformer headlight, the classic bucket headlight/cafe look is always better imo
I think if we factoring in who really wants a supermoto motorcycle we basically unanimously agree the Drz is your best bet... Not everyone has the space, ability or budget to convert a bike to street legal, and while the KTM and Husky both have clearly better stats on paper, the cost is just on another level that just escapes too many peoples budget...
My drz was $5500, came with the full intake, exhaust and carb upgrades. I'd guess probably 45~ hp. Plus I don't have.to change oil constantly or take it to the dealer constantly. It's not the best bike at anything, but it's good at everutjing.
Bike lines under 800cc are cheaper to just end production and make a completely new bike, than change fuel, ignition or cooling concepts. For instance the Rebel was an 80s bike sold till 2016, then Honda just stopped building it, built a completely new 300cc and 500cc bike, but used the name.
They actually can't fuel inject the DRZ model they would have to come out with a new model that is fuel injected because it is grandfathered in under certain statutes that restrict emissions on that model. As long as they keep it the same they can continue to reproduce it with upgrades only cosmetic. No chassis or engine mods are allowed to be made to the production model from the original
Ended up with a dr650. Bought it alongside my cb400. Going from a 200kg bike to the 160kg dr, strangely feels heavier, so get what you mean by it feeling like a pig. The Carby however has been the least of my issues even when starting at sub 0 temps (Celcius) just choke and let her warm up. However wouldn't recommend for an absolute newbie
Yeah it's right for a rider like you who hardly hangs on the same bike. But for a bikers like me, we prefer to live along with our bikes for the rest of the lives. So, we try to get rid of the electronics as possible as it can get. You know what I mean Cruza?
That's awesome to see bikers who stay true to their bike for the long run. Honestly, I'm sorry I sold that cbr1000rr and XDiavel, however, I don't have a garage yet that has room fr multiple bikes. yeah I'm not a big fan of added electronics on bikes (except I love fuel injection), that's another reason I got the YZ450fx, although it does have wifi on the bike to adjust engine maps and keep track of the maintenance via smart phone (which I love), otherwise, it doesn't have all of the other fancy electronics and is pure motorcycle.
Man great video! Your bike is badass! I have a 2022 Ducati Desert Sled and a Kawasaki KLX 300 SM. I mostly ride the Kawasaki because the Ducati is fast as F! Love your humor! “ Whew….ya baby…jus messing around out heya let’s go see if we can do some off road F eree” lol!!
I wish they still sold the DRZ400 in Europe. But we can't even buy them. The last ones were sold in like 2011, the KLX300 Sm isn't available here. The only sumo you can still buy new are KTMs, Huskys and some 125ccs
Took a while going from cars to bikes to realize that you can get a 5 year old bike, and a brand new one, and there has been no changes to it. Most aren't updated every year, when most cars are
Carbs are way easier to get working when fuel related problems happen off road and they are easy super simple compared to efi which if something fuel related happens out in the middle of nowhere you’re stuck
Cycle i completely disagree with you , i bought a 2006 drz 400 with about 8500miles on it for 3k, bike looks new like it was ridden always street, mine is the s model for offroad, i bought a fxr 39 mx carb and a pipe and header and opened up airbox a little, i also pit a drz e header from the dirtbike model, man this thing is allot faster, wheelies up to 4th gear , not as fast as your yz450 but the bike only cost me 5k and it can hold its own it has a great fully adjustable suspension and for those who know carbs its easy to work on and the backed by lots of fans on forums, all in im at 5k you try to find a bike like my drz for 5k with the same performance and reliability, dont talk about no wr250r i smoke those easily and they are more expensive to buy too, 150cc more you can definately feel it in thw torque
I just watched a video of a guy selling his 701 and bought a drz400 and said its more fun, easier to wheelie, I just bought a drz400 today much cheaper than a 701 or 690
You're clueless dude. The magic of the DRZ is the fact that is super forgiving. I've owned two and trashed the hell out of both of them for a combined 30k miles in arguably the best overall riding this country has, the San Francisco Bay Area. In a tight and twisty. bumpy road you can disrespect that DRZ in a way a more powerful bike would never allow it. And I've raced amateur level supermoto [CRF250] and ridden tarded WR450's, EXC450's TE510 and 610's and LC4 and 690 Supermotos. Some might be faster in a straight line, but in the real world on real roads, especially if conditions are less than perfect the DRZ is way more efficient than stats on paper show. I stumble over your videos every few years or so and I always get annoyed at your dumb takes on motorcycles.
too late i already have one, the only issue im having is that if it sits unused for a week the battery gets drained and i can't start it without a jump/trickle charger.
In all actuality carbureted and fuel injected motorcycles deliver fuel almost identically but fuel injection adjusts to temperature and elevation, but really you gain nothing
I fully agree on carburetors, they suck. You'll know it's time for valves on your 450 when it becomes hard to start, due to lack of compression. You can shim the valves to help them last longer. If you can cut your motor off at long traffic lights to keep from overheating, especially on hot days it would help it live longer. As a motocross bike, it is built to be moving and always cooling itself.. stop lights get 'em bubblin'. Stoked on your new crib, by the way.. LIVIN' THE DREAM, Cycle Cruza! Go, man! Go!
The great thing about Yamaha dirt bikes is the valves are notorious for not moving, main reason I went with the yz450fx. My bikes starts quick first push of the button. I did add a factory fan on mine and engine ice coolant. I have not had overheating since I made the changes way back. I try to stick to the backroads and avoid stops. I might eventually add a 690 emc r and see how I like it. I feel like I can get some of that weight off by removing stuff. I can't wait to get the new crib already. In two weeks!
Amen on fuel injection! I live in NJ so it gets cold here and Ive had both carb and fuel injected. Carbs are a pain in the royal ass and you're right you have to worry about cleaning and also jetting properly. There's a reason why they started making bikes fuel injected, I def wont mess with a carbed bike again.
What I learned from this video is that you bought a supermoto and pretend that you know everthing about supermotos and pretend that you know how to ride
I got the KLX I love it but it’s about the same weight as the Drz but 100cc less. Harder to wheelie and what not. Don’t care for speed but the KLX is harder to wheelie.
@@kamenrider8543 facts, I've owned a Katana, GSXR, and Hayabusa. But now I'm contemplating adding a DRZ, been wanting one for a couple of years but wasn't thrilled that they still don't offer a fuel injected solution. But I may bite the bullet and get one anyway.
You can't get an off-road YZ-450FX legal in all states. That alone rules it out in some places. You say it's underpowered then you say the small bikes can be more fun than the bigger bikes.

You have no experience with the DRZ it's a great bike... If your trying to get ppl into riding the DRZ is about the best cheap bike you can get
The DR650 is better. Bigger less complicated engine and a lower seat height. The DR650 and the Honda XR650L are the last two large displacement air cooled carbureted dual sports you can get. The Hondas seat is considerably higher.
@@geraldscott4302 I've had a XR650L and it was too tall for me the DRZ is much more manageable plus it's a sumo
Ain't nothing cheap about a DRZ... new or used.
@@MODECHARLIE lol was abt to say, I can't find anything under 5k even with high miles.
@@Vakator-29 most sm’s rn brand new are 12k
Drz400 is a fantastic bike, I’ve had one for a few years now, I got it with 1500 miles on it, now it has over 25,000 miles, I beat it to death and change the oil once a year and it’s never let me down, other than a frayed clutch cable, all I’ve replaced are tires, it’s a cheap and almost zero maintenance bike that’s super fun, I love my Yamaha fz07 but if I could only keep one bike, I’d keep the Drz
It's 2021, already ! ! !
You've gotta have a liquid cooled, fuel injected motor on your cycle,... or you're living in the past.
@@intergalacticbasketballdro7186 dumb comment
What? You change the oil once a year?😅
@@OkOk-wl7le yea usually, I change the oil in the spring and just add oil when it burns some up, every few thousand miles I’ll end up adding a quart so it’s almost like it’s getting fresh oil all the time 🤣, I’ve had the bike since 1600 miles, it’s now at about 30,000 and rides as good as the day I bought it
@@206dave Same here bro my DRZ has never let me down... I ride it hard af all the time too haha
The DRZ400SM is incredible. Cheap, durable, quick, comfortable, and beautiful.
Just picked up my ‘24 yesterday
@@GODSWORD11hey man quick question how much was it out the door I’m in the Jersey area and looking to buy new just I had a 701 and sold it as it was beyond fast for me , I don’t care for the tech I want to learn at my pace
@@PegahSye I’m in Florida and I bought it from Albany GA (bc they had the best price) and I paid $7100 after everything
I feel attacced. I have a 2016 DRZ400SM with all the mods up to Hotcams Stage 2s, and still love it. She's already taken me to a lot of places.
I bought a DR 650 and man that bike is a tank i'm planing to convert it in a adventure bike to make long travels.
I got a drz400. Love the bike. Next bike is definitely a husky 701sm though. In a few years when I have the money aha
I have a 2018 husky 701 sm, pulls like hell lol, you wont regret it
@@TehJigzoh sheesh. yea man i cant wait to get one. still loving the drz tho while ive got it
Your comment pretty much has the only two super Moto’s worth buying.
Bought my KLX 300sm a month ago. I love it. Waiting on a Dynojet and header.
Smart. Buy a low cost bike for a toy and a real bike for a real bike.
Which dyno jet did u order?
@@scottubz I haven’t ordered it yet waiting for a few other people to be the Guinea pigs. I’m cheap like the Cruza lol
Canuckistan = Canada
I don't mind carbs, don't need a programmer to tune, just a screw driver. Had a KLR for the longest time. Super easy to work on. FI is nice for sure. I do like the throttle feel on a carb bike better than a FI bike.
KLX 300 will definitely need a look
Klx was a let down
First of all, I would never even consider buying a bike WITHOUT a carburetor.
What's wrong with European bikes then?
You mean modern bikes period are less reliable than older bikes or cars for that matter.
You can adjust the valves on a DR650 or XR650 with a wrench and screwdriver. These other bikes require removing the camshafts.
Would you take a drz400sm or a klx300sm
@@dddd3161 I would take the KLX and pocket the $3000 price difference . In the winter a DRZ has to be choked and is cold natured.
I'm rocking a dr650 man. It's like a turbocharged tractor lol.
Can that bike be set up for super moto wheels?
@@kingsammy1105 yes absolutely. Warp 9 racing makes street oriented sumo wheels. You can also just buy street tires and mount them on the stock wheels. Cruisers share the wheel size so you can get tires meant for cruisers and mount them on your dr.
😂🤣🤣🤣
Ive got a DRZ, had 30+ sport bikes, standards etc, I love my DRZ.. I ride 60/40 dirt/street.. best part is its super fun and super cheap insurance as its under 401cc.. after that its expensive in BC Canada
Bought a 2021 klx 300sm after a ladie totaled my 2020zx6r and i gotta say i was thinking it was gonna be super slow but its a decent bike
Are you okay 👍
CRF250L 2020
max fuel economy
no power no problems
weight is no issue on the streets
no maintenance
handling is a dream
lanesplittin like there's no tomorrow
black fairings look sick
Listen the bike you riding is good but just because you don’t like the drz400 that doesn’t mean is a bad bike . Trust me is one of the best bike ever . Way better the that 450 you riding
DRZ's rule. mine weighs 260 lbs, fcr mx39 flatside. 160 60 power pilot. best bike in the world.
CYCLE Cruza, used to watch you & lost ya since your van build for the WR250 trips? Buying one of the 4 Big Brands based on your
intent for riding and you really can't go wrong. Each brand has it's own strengths/weaknesses so after defining how you plan to use
a bike, buy one. Then pick a channel who is doing the upgrades you want. Glad to have found you again...... peace
The klx300sm is what I'm vlogging with. Great bike. Love your channel man!
Only thing wrong with the DRZ to me is the not having a 6th gear other than that I have no issues
Same. I prefer FI over carburetor. It’s crazy now everyone is buying dual sports now
The throttle is more crisp with FI too. Dual sports are the Jeeps of motorcycles, it's awesome to be able to go anywhere and go over stuff.
Prolly gonna be able to pick up some dual sports cheap in about a year from now.
everyone who watches this video get the DRZ if you can, you won't regret
they taking the whole retro classic thing to a whole new level
Cuz they look badass! look at the Ducati Street Classic 1000 or the Honda cb550 cafe racers or the triumph Thruxton. Even the XSR series by Yamaha is badass. The fz’s have some weird transformer headlight, the classic bucket headlight/cafe look is always better imo
My drz would eat that 250 for lunch.
You could have brought 2 drz's with what that yam cost
I think if we factoring in who really wants a supermoto motorcycle we basically unanimously agree the Drz is your best bet...
Not everyone has the space, ability or budget to convert a bike to street legal, and while the KTM and Husky both have clearly better stats on paper, the cost is just on another level that just escapes too many peoples budget...
lol this guy trying to justify paying $4,000 more for fuel injection and a 6th gear.
My drz was $5500, came with the full intake, exhaust and carb upgrades. I'd guess probably 45~ hp. Plus I don't have.to change oil constantly or take it to the dealer constantly.
It's not the best bike at anything, but it's good at everutjing.
My dads friend has 98,000 miles on it and people say the engine is crap 😂
Very happy for you on your new home
Thanks! In two weeks I will be heading back down to south to the new crib!
I had one, changed the oil every 1,000 miles, never touched the engine apart from plug changes and sold it at 25K in great shape.
I got my drz400 sm out the door for 6500 in 2019 and daily drive it and it has never let me down
Bike lines under 800cc are cheaper to just end production and make a completely new bike, than change fuel, ignition or cooling concepts.
For instance the Rebel was an 80s bike sold till 2016, then Honda just stopped building it, built a completely new 300cc and 500cc bike, but used the name.
CONGRATS 👏 on the new place ,more bugoutmoto videos please 🙏
Having a blast with my newly bought 701 sumo.
I’m gonna pick up the 690 SMCR from my job 🥲, sumos is where it’s at
after the 2nd oil change the intervals to change oil is every 6,000 miles on DRZ. ftw
My dude. Peace from Tulsa, brother.🐄🤠👢
It depends on who you are and what you’re looking for in a bike
@@CycleCruza Ya still love to watch your videos. Keep going.
Drz400 4 life !!!
Most aren't updated every year, when most cars are
I’m sure cars is like maybe small revisions but definitely same model for 6-7 years in most cases
You should have mentioned CRF450L and WR450L which are faster and lighter than drz400, but have 600 mile oil changes.
Hey CC .. what did you do with the parts of your super moto after making it street legal ? 😊😊😊
I just watched a video of a guy selling his 701 and bought a drz400 and said its more fun, easier to wheelie, I just bought a drz400 today much cheaper than a 701 or 690
I would take the drz over the wr250r anyday . Just wish they would lose the carburator .
They stopped selling the drz 400sm in 2009 in europe
Did you mention the Honda 450 street legal and the 300 as well
That 450 Yamaha will need rebuilt at 20,000 miles even if you keep up the constant oil changes.
Chuck a lectron carb on the DRZ and it performs better then if it would be EFI
Man I miss seeing that 1000 double arrrrrhhh in the background.
Do you recommend any more comfortable seats
What is the bike you're riding in this video?
too late i already have one, the only issue im having is that if it sits unused for a week the battery gets drained and i can't start it without a jump/trickle charger.
You can add a kick start for about $200 I did it on mine it's pretty easy job
CycleCruza can you talk about the dorsoduro?
Amen on fuel injection! I live in NJ so it gets cold here and Ive had both carb and fuel injected. Carbs are a pain in the royal ass and you're right you have to worry about cleaning and also jetting properly. There's a reason why they started making bikes fuel injected, I def wont mess with a carbed bike again.
EPA regulations are the sole reason for the switch to efi. Not because it is “better”
@@CollinMac96 like you're actually interested enough to find out if it's better.
Drz is life. Klx300SM is a fun bike too! I would totally buy one.
What I learned from this video is that you bought a supermoto and pretend that you know everthing about supermotos and pretend that you know how to ride
Ninja 400 baby
You gotta get a DRZ and then say these things i bought one thinking the same thing and i was proved wrong
picked up aner husky, 2001 sm 610. Wantet to sell it and get something a bit more modern and with better parts availability, so considering the DRZ..
I got the KLX I love it but it’s about the same weight as the Drz but 100cc less. Harder to wheelie and what not. Don’t care for speed but the KLX is harder to wheelie.
I ride a older 2000 wr400 and it smokes all the drz400 I ride with if you can find one its worth it 👌
Man you can solve that issue with a lectron carburator
“It requires high maintenance”
Are you sure we’re talking about the same bike?
Find a DRZ-E
More power
Better carb
Lighter
High compression/Better camshaft
Or a straight DRZ kick start. Even lighter.
Have a DRZ400 2020 and love it.
Rossi colors. Blue yellow gear . Love it
I have your same exact helmet, I love these helmets!
Nothing wrong with a drz
I was thinking there was going to be some facts and legit info here but ok, I’m getting a DRZ.
The only knock on the DRZ is def the carb. "for me". Otherwise I would have had one already, and still contemplating one now.
Check out dirtlegal.
i just bought the DRZ, i live in Cali so.....no carb problems.
I’m really interested in the Crf 450rl
Sounds like he’s trying to convince himself his current bike was the right choice.
