    I really like the fact you almost always put the identification of the tractors on the screen. I am not able to make out a lot of the decals and on other sites I have been to this is not usually done. I know it takes you a lot of time and it makes your videos a lot better for the extra work. Thanks for taking the time.

      @@hawki5120 -- Yep. It sure is. And the cost of the new ones compared to the old ones is even more depressing. I did a cost comparison awhile back taking into account inflation, and the cost of the new tractors has risen way way way above the inflation rate over the last 50-60 years.

    Another awesome display of beasts of their time. Neat to see the tandom tractors rolling ground. As much as I prefer to see the Farmall/IH tractors, you're right with your call out to the other brands. It's always cool to see a wide variety of tractor brands out in the field. Stay safe.

    Thank you for taking the time to make and post this video. I'm sure some simple arithmetic would not encourage you to continue but thanks for ignoring that!
    That said, I do have one... not really grumble- more of a wish that perhaps you might be able to relay to authorities. I tried the link to contact, but only phone numbers and that doesn't work for me.
    I bet I'm not the only one who would appreciate more information about the plows. Pretty easy to identify the tractors and you help with that, but not always easy to know what they are pulling. Seems simple enough for organizers to require some signage on the plow as to # of bottoms and cut. Nothing complicated, just something like '4-18' or '6-16'. That would make the video much more meaningful.
    Thanks again and keep up the good work!

    It looks like some guys came unprepared. I would never go to a plow day without having more than enough weight on my tractor. Just because the soil conditions are easy at home doesn't mean it is elsewhere. Great series of videos I've enjoyed all of the half century of progress videos. This show is definitely on my bucket list. 👍

    Holy Macro, pretty bad conditions for plowing.....that is no real fun to operate. And again, some plows not proper adjusted (especially the very first one, last furrow nearly in the air), makes it even harder. I think in this condition, Onland is the best choice, so both wheels get the same ground to work on and meet at full size. The jeep made my day!!

      respectfully sir, no human knows how to plow every individual acre in the world, let alone their own neighborhood, soil type, season, moisture,crops,etc vary widely and change day to day, year to year - all affecting the plowing. This is demonstration plowing to show off the equipment, not a plowing contest. Some operators are driving equipment for others. I enjoy a well plowed field but here I am more interested in the variety of equipment people bring at their own expense that I can enjoy seeing work and listen to, that I would not see in my neighborhood.

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I am very glad your grandson knows tractor safety. In the case of standing up this is the way these tractors were run in their day. I remember watching farmers running some of these new standing up to drive them. They have flip up seats and telescoping steering wheels to facilitate driving and standing. I would never show reckless operation but in this case it’s not against the law and they were designed to be driven while standing. Farm safety has come along way since the ROPS law in 1976.

      Sitting on an old tractor seat over rough ground for long periods of time, can be very damaging to the spine, etc. Standing with knees slighly bent was the norm. Watch the jostling of those riders sitting and the variance in age of tractors.
      Even into the this century, such long term injuries were/are still common from prolonged sitting on tractors. www.cdc.gov/niosh/mining/UserFiles/works/pdfs/jjeam.pdf
