The 2021 Half Century of Progress Show will feature 200 acres of harvesting and plowing from August 26-29, 2019 in Rantoul, IL. Watch this video for sample of the classic tractors and combines from the past 50 years that take part in this big farm show.

I could watch and listen to old combines for hours. When I was a 10 year old watching a 95 harvesting behind my house...that was heaven.
Also I had a lot of good memories of the steam engines running and threshing at the Canfield Fair. Along with a new at the time 7000 series pulling people out of a muddy parking lot.
Wow! A 3 row corn picker! Never saw that before. 1206 sounds awesome 😎 singing a good tune.
Both New Idea and John Deere offered 3 row pickers in the 70’s and 80’s.

I also really wish I could go to this show also. I grew up on a dairy farm in the early 70's. We had a John Deere 4010, 2510 and an old M formal that actually ran over me when I was 7.
Love watch my past, it brings back so many great memories.
I enjoy watch the older equipment working all phases of the land. What's makes this place so interesting is my dad was in the Air Force and stationed at this Air base I was also born on this base. Am so glad to see it put to good use. Thanks for all your great videos

Great to see old iron working hard! This looks like a great show to attend. Just a reminder that the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion is happening over Labor Day weekend in Rollag, MN. Absolutely fantastic displays and demonstrations of old equipment being used….an outstanding collection of Steiger tractors is on display as well. I believe the featured equipment this year is Hart-Parr and Oliver…. I can hardly wait!

You folks are lucky. In Ontario we can’t go to any event. All fall fairs are canceled the international ploughing match is canceled. All outdoors. It’s ridiculous. I wish politics would stay out of pandemics. Have a great show.

I love the old machines. That's what I grew up with. I'm 77.
This show is such a great chance to see these machines doing what they were built to do. A rare opportunity today. Thank you for watching.

My favorite part of the show is watching the Amish farm with horses. I am unable to attend because my return flight has been canceled three times due to the pandemic. I will participate virtually via your recording of this year's event.

I liked you showing that check planter early in the video. My Dad told me they had one. He liked it because he could cultivate down the row and then perpendicular to the row.
That is what is so cool about the show you just never know what will be there. It was a huge filming opportunity to be able to show this early style of corn planning and then also have the growing corn to show how it was cultivated
Was up at Rantoul this afternoon. Didn’t get a real good look at the crops to be harvested, but what I saw the corn looks ready now with the beans needing a little time still (not that they won’t cut next week though).

Great show, everyone should check out the American Thresermen show in Pinckneyville Illinois. It’s a great show, it’s the weekend before Rantoul. What a great day me and my boy had there yesterday!
I'd love to go, but my ache bones couldn't handle going to Half Century Farm show, and then turn around in a few days and go to the Farm Progress show. So I've already got plans to go to the Farm Progress show, but one of these yrs I plan on going to the Half Century show.

Won’t be one next year, 2022. HCOP is held every other year, the week before the Farm Progress Show is held in Decatur, IL. After this year, you’ll have to wait until 2023 to attend, unless for some reason they quit having the show entirely, which I hope they don’t.

It’s held every other year, so next show won’t be until 2023.
These guys are just showing the tractors lowing. I’d love to see some cultivators and seeders.
I have videos on this channel featuring disking and field cultivating at this show. I posted one about two weeks ago. Always lots of tillage action to see.
I'm interested in the "Repowered Tractors and the 2 tractors hooked together, twins.
I'm three and a half hours away and I should go. Maybe next time !

I think it would be very interesting to see some farmers that use older equipment be in the national corn growers contest competition.

Some forage harvesting action would have been nice but you can't always get what you want 🙈, so thank you for sharing 👍.
Every once in a while they do you have a Forage Harvester there. I filmed one in 2009.

At 0:50 seconds into the video, was that 3-row planter wire checking corn? My dad wire checked corn with a 2-row planter behind a B JD. Thanks for the videos, they are always a joy to watch. Keep up the good work.

The New Idea is a monster.
My grandpa has a 1 row new idea picker it is old.
i am really considering going this year and it will be my first time going two questions for the group.
1. i have a camper and considering taking it if i go more than a day, how is the over flow camping there on site. Is there electric or does everyone use gen.
2. is a golf cart recommended, and if so, if i brought mine (its electric golf cart) is there a spot to charge if battery's need a recharge. i will have/ bring the charger from home?
3. or is it better to bring a old John Deere two cylinder for the fun activity's with no plow?

Fun fact the cab less Minnie mo a4t there belonged to my family's farm before the engineer who designed the prototype transmission for it bought it and restored it while taking the cab off
Wow very cool. It was awesome to see at the show. Unfortunately the engineer passed away shortly after the show. Was it decided as a 1900 when you had it?

😁👍👍. No worries it will definitely get filmed I want to see what it looks like too. That is always a challenge on participating or filming. I will have some friends that are helping me film at the show so we definitely won’t miss it.
I wish I was there for the Half Century of Progress show. Didn’t know you bought a tractor. What kind of engine is in that Steiger?
It is powered by a Cummins 903 V8. I have been focused on V8 4wds 😁

@@lolatingey3608 I am not a farmer I used to help out on my grandfathers farm when I was a young kid but when he passed my grandmother sowed it I am hoping someday I can afford to buy a farm of my own but who knows
@@lolatingey3608 I am a country boy so yes I love getting my hands dirty I love working out in the yard planting flowers trees and whatever else needs to be done outside and I am on disability and I help take care of my parents I also like making wood furniture and projects with Apoxsee resin was trying to start a business with it but ran out of money and the pandemic did not help if you don’t mind me asking what do you do for a living ?

So......you got a Steiger now too huh? Did you get it from that farm you have shown several times that hosts that get together where folks can come and see all their 4WD's ?
The way the tractors were scratching for traction during plowing and it’s THAT DRY…. That’s a perfect example of why you always under size your implements. When conditions are poor you can still get field work done…
The last few shows have been very dry and 2019 was particularly tough on the plows and tractors

1864 great grandpa buys. The farm. 1909 Dad is born. 1960 s Dad is the boss I AM THE teenage employee. 1974 I am the 20 year old boss Dad is my employee . 1990 family comes first farming stops. 2000my 10 year old son get 2 calves. 2021 the past 21 years my son has been the boss and I have bee his employee. Now he has 75 cows 60 acres of hay 21acres and house of his own. His tractors are a 4010,4020,1650, 1135 1155.Today is 67th birthday. When I walk out door the only thing that has change is the boss. This is how I feel like 20 all over again.
