1970's TRACTORS | CORN Planting to Harvest

In this video viewers spend an entire corn season on a Western Kentucky farm from planting to harvest. This farm uses good looking tractors from the 1970's to raise its crop. Watch for these tractors through out the year on the farm.

Man, if I could go back to 1985 for just one more day. Going out to the farm and spending the day with grandpa, working ground in the 4640, listening to the local country radio and that water jug sloshing around! He was to old to run the planter anymore, but he could still disc pretty good. And chew a little tobacco when grandma wasn't around!

My late uncle had a 1066 and a 1466 along with a Ford 5000. One neighbor had a 4620 and a 1466. There was an IH 856 down the road and we had a 1972 Ford 3000 a 1978 JD 2840. It was nice to disk with a plow connected to the drawbar instead of the 3 point hitch which jerked the old 3000 around. We had to steer with brakes and the steering wheel in the clay soil. It was also rough running over clods using the 3000. The neighbors who were huge farmers had a JD 5020, 4020, two or 3 4630s, and some other big Deeres for breaking. One neighbor had a Ford 6600. Great video guys.

I grew up on a tobacco farm. As long as I didn't have to look at a mule butt all day. It was an awesome tractor. I loved all of them. I'm a little old school anyway , so I really love the older frame equipment. Wish I had a dollar for every fur I turned with a Ford 2000, 3000, and international 140, I would be setting good right now. You can't beat the good old days and equipment. 😀👍
