    I like a lot of your points! You dont even need to be "backpacking" to travel on the cheap, great travel can be had at any price level!
    of course a hostel bunk is usually the cheapest, but especially if you're traveling as a couple, just think like a local and avoid the worst tourist traps

    Ugh. Im 50 and i feel like i missed so much in life tryimg to be a good father and companion that i missed my opportunity to travel and make me happy instead of making everyone else happy. Thank you for openong my eyes and showing me that life is to short to wait for someone who doesnt appreciate you and your dreams Europe here i come 😁

      It really does! My favorite cities have been Amsterdam and Cape Town but hopefully Tokyo next!

    Totally agree, especially part about US being placed as this best 1st world country when in reality many other countries have done so much better from health care to simply placing their ppl needs above silly political quibbles and lies and false promises. Ive been to quite a few countries and witnessed the same. Now with little kids cant go to some of these places till kids are older. Lately, it's Orlando Disney or Legoland or Zoos / Aquarium. Looking forward to taking them to Europe and Japan. Was fortunate to take them to Gran Canaria. But will still be a bit before they can appreciate other cultures. Living in nyc at least is a good starting point for them to slowly experience various cultures
