A little tip for those shooting a hinge for the first time- shoot from about 5 feet into a target. No 20 yard crap. You're not going to hit the bullseye anyway. You have got to get the feel for it. You can try starting with a string and just push pull to get an idea of the feel. They are more difficult to use PROPERLY in the wind as you are not supposed to force the thing to fire like on a " now" command. They will add points to your scorecard.

Great video! Im currently in the process of switching to and learning a hinge release. I feel you on that misfire. Happened to me and lost a field tip and insert into a tree trying to pull it out. Keep up the great videos

I had to drop my draw length a half inch when I switched to the hinge from 29.5 to 29 and feels way better 👍🎯. Also switched the hook to .18 instead of the .20 and made a big difference for me.. first few times drawing a hinge back I was shitting my pants lol. All the best man 🤘

I’m presently shooting the .016 click after much practice with the .020 click.
When shooting the .020 I had it set up really slow - enuf to pull with all three fingers equal pressure and it wud click upon anchoring.
With the .016 not quite as fat (or slow) I tend to like that better when I tense up I’m still able to focus on the middle and let my back take over.
I always work on having it click at anchor so that I only start aiming once. If you anchor then click it will slow your shot process down or add seconds to your aim and that’s a negative.
It takes some close up bail time to fine tune it but it’s well worth the effort!

The more I shoot the 0.020 the better I am getting with it. I had to consciously pull with my ring finger forward, but now it’s second nature. Some days I’m good with it. Others I still struggle.

You're supposed to keep your ring finger and middle finger off of the hinge while pulling back And always keep the end of the hinge rolled front words rolled towards ur bow whole pulling back

if you’re looking for a hinge that will carry over with your Carter, look at the Nock On 2Smooth. I am shooting the Nock2it and 2Smooth with barely any noticeable change in anchor

It’s on my short list of things to try this off-season. I really do like the hinge the more that I shoot it

I just wish that for the price they would include a thumb stud. Other than that it looks like a really great release.

I agree. I was a little disappointed with the lack of a thumb peg.

Been thinking of going with the hinge. How do you like it now? Never shot one before. Do you recommend I go with something like the wise choice first and work my way up to the hinge?

Personally I went from a thumb button to a hinge and it worked well for me, but everyone is different. It’s more or less getting one and committing. It takes a lot of time with both to find your anchor, form and comfort level.

You can just shorten your draw length with the d loop shortened.

I’m looking for an actual hinge release, I’m currently shooting a Carter Honey 2 with a safety. I’m leaning towards The Hinge thinking with the shape of the head it will be easier to draw with and not punch myself😂😂. So after you’ve had it for awhile what are your thoughts? Thanks!

I really like it. The more and more I shoot it the more comfortable it has become. The slim low profile really fits well. I can’t speak to the Carter honey but pulling the bow with this release I feel like I’m pulling with my whole hand and the pressure is even. 10/10 recommend it.

Awesome! That’s the answer I was hoping for. I smacked my face pretty good last year and it didn’t feel good. This year I finally got the courage up again to try a hinge and now I’m ready to move on to one without a safety and this one def caught my eye. Thanks so much for the info! Great Video as well!!👍🏻👍🏻

Purchased one of these and quickly returned it, I broke s screw putting a thumb pretty on it. Grade is junk for what your paying for it also felt cheap in the hands for what it cost. Wasn't impressed with the noise and having to use an oring to silence it. Switched to a stan release and won't look back.
Also start with a hinge with a safety, I've lost many an arrow grabbing a new release and getting use to it.

I did end up getting a UV Hinge and tried it for a bit. Didn’t mind how it fit and felt in my hand but COMPLETELY changed my anchor. Not wanting to change my anchor that drastically to conform to such a unique release I ended up selling it and now waiting on the replacement to come in. Trying out a Tru Ball HT hybrid Flex next. Think it’ll be a bit of a better fit for me.

What’s the point of the click?

    • @jeffcordero_
      @jeffcordero_  2 ปีที่แล้ว

I know for myself after I draw I make my gross or large adjustments until I get to the click. Then from there I move slower and more controlled until the shot breaks. I might not do the same thing every time before the click but after the click the shot process is the same for me.
