Admire your honesty with what you’ve spent. And you use it as your R and D vehicle so money well spent 👍. And I always enjoy watching your vehicle on the 4wd 24/7 episodes, no matter who’s driving

Sure it's nice to describe all the great modifications they have made to Land cruiser. But I often wonder what the hell are they for? That is, I explain the concept better, you buy a car that today costs more than 100,000aud then you do a reverse engineering to make you pale with a cost similar to that of the car and then put it on TH-cam (to show how good you are and how beautiful the your car) and present the video with a nice smiling faces!! Of course they must be a genius!.... I always told that another rate hike from RBA and it will be the end of bullbar bullshit era also here in the great dingo piss creek s'traliyaaa!!

Reminds me of when I was 21 ( in 1995) and I brought into the bs of Toyotas are reliable. Bought a 75. Cost me 13k, four years old, cost me another 15k in the 20 months I owned it in far NQ. Then I woke up and bought a 4 yr old GQ. Owned that 18 1/2 years and spent less on it. PoS Toyotas. Nissans better off road and more reliable.

I'm glad that you have explained the costs involved to build and maintain this beast.
I just hope that a lot of people watch this video before they start taking on the harder tracks and start driving them the way you do, it will save a lot of money and heartbreak when they have to shell out hard earned money!

At least guys you are honest about it and others can learn from it.
I guess once you start adding/modifying it is difficult to stop and hence the cost explosion.
I am an engineer and always been using the KISS principle for many things including 4WD. Keeps maintenance costs down and also the capital outlay.
For me, half the fun of going remote is simplicity and not taking the kitchen sink with me, but others want all the comforts and all these come at a cost.
I guess each to their own.
    Great video.
    Cheers

Although massive it's a tax wright off as a business rnd vehicle. It's has obviously created huge product sales and returns in that respect. To think people spend this hard earned and will never see any return. Hey consumerism is what makes the economy turn. That's why we're not 3rd world living. So although I think it's mental and couldn't do it. Thank F everyone else does and that's for all recreational motorsport. In saying that I am looking for a S5 Y62 currently. I can see myself getting carried away there. Spent the last 16 years with no toys though. V8 302 windsor C4 9inch 200b Datsun wagon sold 4k, V8 84 4 runner 305 tpi chev turbo 400 2k stall 15 inch rims 33 inch tyres 2.5 inch body lift, sold it for 10k, VL Berlina 5l 2500 stall cam no rust straight as sold $2500 in 2009 😭😭😭.. hold onto your toys guys

Someone needs to take all these 12v power supply components, strip out the guts of them and mount them on a Common base with a neat and tidy, singular cover that contains everything in a sealed unit and singular display panel, complete with sealed cooling channels that run over the various heat sink fins and exits via external vents. Instead of all these add hoc, patchwork looking, diy setups with various bits and pieces here and there and exposed wiring/connections... That's my opinion on the growing trend of "look how many different things I have for my power supply set up"

You forgot to mention it's all a tax deduction as a business write off ... Normal people would have to save serious coin to get a vehicle like that ..

Did I hear that correct, you paid $110k for this second hand and then had to put a new engine in it and up $282k overall. I know you guys and other love these cars, but just don't get them. I do keep hearing they are the reliable car on the market, bullet proof, so why so many costly repairs.
Surely there are better vehicles that can do serious off roading without changing just about everything on the car, but don't have a 30 year old design.

Pretty sure they said 38k the paid for it originally.
I think the 110k must be what it cost after modifying

At the beginning of the vid you said you paid 38k for the cruiser alone and at the end you said you paid 110k!?
