Yep. I had some of the quickest feet as a SB in high school and university study. Getting to volley and approach shots was about the same as we see with Nadal. What's amazing is that he doesn't miss volleys. Baseliners, or approach shots. It's amazing!

Rafa obviously changed his tactic compared to the Rome match-up putting more rotation into the ball which makes the ball bounce a lot higher. A lot of 'moonballing' from rafa especially from the backhand side which doesn't really allow diego's shots to penetrate and his serve was always going to be a liability. But still diego had a great run. No other player can achieve what diego managed to with his height. He worked extremely hard to reach to this level in a sport where taller players thrive and i respect that.

Rafa obviously changed his tactic compared to the Rome match-up putting more rotation into the ball which makes the ball bounce a lot higher. A lot of 'moonballing' from rafa especially from the backhand side which doesn't really allow diego's shots to penetrate and his serve was always going to be a liability. But still diego had a great run. No other player can achieve what diego managed to with his height. He worked extremely hard to reach to this level in a sport where taller players thrive and i respect that.

A veces no se tiene idea de la dimensión y la trascendencia de alguien o algo cuando nos acostumbramos a ello. A mi se quieren salir los ojos cuando leo comentarios "SOBRE TODO DE ESPAÑOLES" que no dan el mérito y que mas bien menosprecian a este super humano que tiene un espíritu de competencia y superación que dentro del deporte sólo he visto en Michael Jordan. Alguien a quien en su adolescencia le dijeron que no podría competir al máximo nivel debido a su lesión crónica dicho sea de paso en las rodillas (Nadal a jugado todos los partidos de su vida con molestias en las rodillas) que afortunadamente no dañaron su espíritu de lucha y que supo canalizar hasta acostumbrarse a eso para dejar de ser víctima de su dolor y apoderarse de el. Rafael Nadal me ha dado algunos de los momentos más vibrantes que yo haya vivido frente a una pantalla e incluso fuera de ella. Nunca perdí ni perderé tiempo discutiendo con nadie por la cuestión de qué tenista es mas grande simplemente disfrutaré lo poco que le queda a Rafa de carrera y su competencia infinita con otros 2 mostruos que llegaron a este mundo en la misma nave espacial que Rafa para hacernos delirar. Saludos desde Costa Rica.

Guessed Nadal would comfortably beat Diego but the last set was pretty close. Diego had 3 break points and if he got one he would've won it 7-5 instead of a tiebreak

Even if Schwartzman had broken him, Nadal could have break him down later so it could have been 6-6 as well anyway. Besides, Nadal was 4-2 from the very beginning, he could have finished sooner.
If u watched the match, you'd notice Nadal had a lot of unforced errors in the last set... it had nothing to do with Schwartzman, it was a Nadal thing
