    Excellent review, sir. Your English is equally as good. Honestly, you speak quite well. Were my French a quarter as good as your English, I’d be delighted.

    Convinced me, I'm ordering one today. When it comes to adding the power, instead of running the wires down the dash and into the power supply, he simply cut the wires and spliced them into 12 volt wires that run into his power review mirror.

    Your English is much better than my French. I think you did just fine. Thanks for the review! I picked up one of these a few weeks ago. In fact, I think your English is better than the English in the instructions.

    English is great, don't worry about that, just work on being concise in what you plan to say and show. Early efforts at reviews do ted to be a bit of a ramble until one develops their confidence in production and their own delivery style. Keep going :)

    Could you please do a video of how to install this thing, talking about power supply and different ideas? Also, can someone please suggest some cams that work when I'm parked as well and has impact or motion detection? I'm not sure how that works but I'm really interested to learn how he routes his power without ugly cables everywhere...

    Thanks for this. It helped me figure out how some of the hardware components worked.

    A 1-star review of the Mini 0803 on Amazon reports "After only a week in 70-75 degree Seattle weather, the camera bodies deformed and started drooping." How do you think the A118 can handle heat?

      I suggest you to ask this question to a manufacturer well known on Dashcamtalk forum. His name is "jokiin"

    Please excuse typos in previous post. I would like to know correct configuration to hardwire to fuse box. Or to the battery.

    • @Fantomas-HiTech
      @Fantomas-HiTech  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Peter Janak Jr You have to connect the dashcam on a wire that have 12V after starting engine, and 0V when engine is stopped. You can use cigaret lighter plug or a wire behind your sound system radio.

    Nice video. Very detailed and informative review. Have you run into any “Card Full” error with your A118?

    • @Fantomas-HiTech
      @Fantomas-HiTech  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, but it was fixed since I have replaced my Transcend card by a Sandisk card... Strange because Sandisk is not recommended with Notatek based dashcams

  • @stevenlee456

    Used USB cable provided by manufacturer to plug A118 to the lab top but cannot seems to play the recording inside the micro chip. How did you upload this video to the TH-cam?

    • @Chris-lt6db
      @Chris-lt6db 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never use the USB cable provided with dashcam to visualize videos.
      I always use a card reader on the PC.

    Thanks for the review, I enjoyed it. I see that you also have a G1W dash cam. Would you prefer the G1W or the A118? Which has better video quality?

    • @Fantomas-HiTech
      @Fantomas-HiTech  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Video quality is similar but A118 is more interesting because it has a wider FOV

      No. There is no parking mode, only motion detection

    If I set auto power off to "5 minutes" does that mean it will keep recording for 5 mins after the car is turned off? Can you explain what "auto power off" is please.

    • @Fantomas-HiTech
      @Fantomas-HiTech  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Autopower off does not work as delayed shutdown after the car is turned off.
      It works if you let the dashcam ON without recording.
      The delayed shutdown of A118 is about 10 seconds, you can't set any other shutdown delay.

    Kris. To what advantage does the Capacitor version have over the battery version? Or visa versa. It seems like A1181.5 and A118C are tge exact same except one is battery and the other is Capacitor.
    I too would like to k of the correct configuration to hardwire

    • @Fantomas-HiTech
      @Fantomas-HiTech  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Peter Janak Jr Capacitor version is better in hot countries. Life span of the dashcam is also better with a capacitor. All my A118 have a dead battery after 1 year of use. I have to replace them soon. But to replace a battery , you have to do some DIY. Not all people can do this.

      +fantomas21000 wow. Thank you for quick reply. This Camera actually looks very good. Ir seems ideal for permanent installation into my car.

    • @Fantomas-HiTech
      @Fantomas-HiTech  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Peter Janak Jr I have 3 cars using A118 or A118C on front and rear ;)

    • @peterharoldjanakjr2078
      @peterharoldjanakjr2078 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +fantomas21000 I invasion the same with one other additional feature for each camera. Rather than installing SD card into camera. Perhaps installing two fake SD cards hard wired to a box with two real SD card slots attached to driver side dash area. This would provide very easy access to SD cards rather than having to climb through car and possibly dropping the cards.

    • @Chris-lt6db

      Video quality is the same but A118 has larger angleof view and is much more stealthy.

      How does it perform at night? I am also trying to decide between the G1W and the A118, but perform most of my driving at night. It's a 5 hr one way trip

    • @Chris-lt6db
      @Chris-lt6db 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you mostly drive at night, I would better suggest mini 0803 or G90

      a bin même avec le fait que je parle pas plus de 2 mot en anglais, j'ai compris que tu dit a 13:35 que tu est francais ^^ j'avais donc raison ! :)
      Dit maintenant que ca fait un petit moment que tu utilise cette caméra, qu'en pense tu a la longue ???
      Merci d'avance pour ta réponse!

      J'en suis super satisfait, j'adore son système de fixation et l'image est impeccable. Moins bonne image que la 0806 mais c'est malgré tout très correct, les plaques d'immat sont lisibles même en roulant.

    • @Darkblanc
      @Darkblanc 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      fantomas21000 ok merci pour ta réponse, et j'avais une question sur son fonctionnement a 10;27 tu parle du
      Loop recording de 5min 3min 1min ou off , a quoi ca correspond ? se sont les fichiers vidéos créé qui feront cette duré ?
      car justement je me demandais si c'était pas, par exemple tu met une carte de 32go, il ne vas pas sauvegarder en effacer les vidéos plus ancienne pour en garder que 5 min ??? comment ca fonctionne de se coté ?

    • @Darkblanc
      @Darkblanc 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      fantomas21000
      et dernier point qui me la fera acheté ou non, c'est l'autonomie une fois chargé ?
      et tu travail pour le site Banggood? car il y a une photo de ton installation sur le présentation de cette caméra tout a la fin ! ^^
      www.banggood.com/fr/A118-H_264-1080P-Full-HD-Car-DVR-Dash-Cam-170-Degree-Video-Recorder-p-950763.html
