ooh I remember these. We had one just like it in the mid 70's, back when there were real winters, and no double glazing. I have a vague memory of it leaving a brownish residue on the top part of our walls after prolonged use.
I've already sourced a sheet of mica that I can cut to size. Hopefully the postman will get it to me in a few days. It certainly does do the job but I will have to see how long a full tank of fuel lasts and work out if it is actually cheaper than the electric fire! :)
Would appreciate it very much. Because I recently got hold of the same heater, but in poor condition. The wick has come off, and drowned into the paraffin. Some wick holding bits are lose, and dangling around as well. Not sure how to go about sorting and get it running. cheers.
Nice heater, but the wick is a bit sad, what you need is a wick cleaner. it scrapes the tar of the wick and get a nice even trimmed wick, the heater will burn a lot nicer and starts better.
Depends a lot on the wick being adjusted. I bought a Chinese one a few weeks ago. It's great except for when you start it and put it out. Or if you don't turn the wick down after lighting it. Then it's quite smelly
Can you tell me what size wick your burner uses? The wick turner won't move any suggestions as to free this up. I can't get the old wick out until I can free the mechanism.
Ahh, that 'blue'. I'm in love...... magical ;)

love these..
When I was a boy .my friend Gran had a paraffin heaters the house used to stink of paraffin
I suppose it depends on if you like that or not. The stuff I use doesn't smell very much if at all tbh.

I got it from an online store in the UK that specialises on kerosene lamps & heaters.
I know why you might want to get hold of some... :)
hi great heater & video. could you do a video on replacing the wick please? thanks.
I only recently put a new wick in it as well. Should have done a vid. I'll see what I can do.
Anything's cheaper to run than an electric fire!
Think it's a 2 inch wick. Best bet is to google the model and see if you can find a manual with an exploded parts diagram.

Yeah, I normally do it once a week.
Are these heaters still being made?
Is it still working?
Oh yes.
