I bought my PB i20N in April '24. No Black Roof or Bose for me. I agree that it's a fantastic little car. I wasn't intending to buy so soon but the announcement of it's discontinutation 'forced my hand' to some degree. My local Dealer suddenly had two examples on their forecourt and, after a couple of test drives, it was a 'done deal'. The i20N was the closest thing I could find with similar driving feel to my MK.1 Suzuki Swift Sport. It is significantly quicker and and more ecconomical too. The 5-Door layout is much more practical and rear space is infinitely better. The i20N is far more refined at Motorway speeds/capable as a long distance tourer. The suspension on the Swift was probably better on poorly surfaced roads - the i20N can be a bit crashy and bottoms out occasionally. The benefit though is the car corners with almost no roll and changes direction instantly. The LSD produces prodigious grip through/out of corners. It is 'laugh out loud' fantastic. Overtaking on the outside of roundabouts is almost becoming second nature. I tend to drive mostly in Eco and find this gives a better mid-range torque response. I'm not too interested in the pops and bangs from the exhaust in N Mode, so use Custom 1 with the Exhaust set to normal. I haven't made any really long journeys yet but I've seen a claimed 47 MPG for a few trips. Doing really short local trips (less than a couple of miles) and not allowing the engine to reach operating temperature registers sub-20 MPG. The trip computer is typically 2 MPG optimistic for journeys/average between refills. My calculated average is approx. 33 MPG. My only minor gripe with the i20N is all the overly sensitive electronic 'safety aids' (or often just plain wrong in the case of the speed limit recognition) that need to be disabled at the start of each drive. It's a shame these cannot be permanently disabled in one of the Custom Modes. Each journey therefore requires a bit of a 'pre-flight check'. I anticipate keeping my i20N for a long time. There just isn't anything similar available now. It's equally happy doing a school/shopping run as it is being a part time van carrying loads or tearing down some country lanes/round a track. It really is a shame that Hyundai axed the N ICE range in favour of the global EV agenda. Whilst the Ioniq 5N is a considerable achievement, I don't want such a big heavy car - nor to have to pay £65K to own one.
I am in Europe and bought mine in March this year. A Premium version with all the "extras" you could get. Black roof, Intense Blue Pearl color, BOSE, LSD, heated seats and all that jazz... It was already after Hyundai stopped accepting new orders for the production. So I got a brand new one that was on stock at one of the local dealerships. 7 months and 13.5 thousand kilometers later I can say it is a fantastic car for the price. I am very happy with it, love to drive it on weekends and I expect (and wish to be honest) that Hyundai will come to regretting killing the N division in Europe so abruptly and will consider reviving it.
It's still for sale in Australia with an update model due soon. There are a few new cars in stock but most need to be ordered. PB, no extra. Bose standard. On the road in WA $39,430. Mine to that spec 18 months ago was $37,000 on the road in this state discounted. With the current exchange rate AU$37,000 = £19,115 and AU$ 39,430 = £20,370. Keep in mind that we don't get the heated seats or the heated steering wheel[I would love the heated steering wheel!] but we do get a spare wheel.
Thanks for doing the maths👌I really thought the heated steering wheel was an unnecessary luxury but tried it for the first time now it’s getting chilly. Bliss 😊
Absolutely! Is it perfect in every way? Absolutely not (but no car is "eveything to all people"). Fortunately, it gets all the important driving related stuff right and puts a grin on your face every journey
If you leave it on your driveway for six days ,not being used ,come back from holiday it requires a jump start.owners don't know this cos of daily use. Heath check results are normal, just don't go on holiday.
I didn’t have that issue this summer but have seen it on owner forums too. The thing where it constantly unlocks/locks the doors when it senses your presence can’t be good for battery life.
@@ChrisHooperOnCars my conclusion is, battery holding charge is limited.given time this will be changed at some point.the car itself is a riot ,lot of fun,pot holes don't help tho.happy motoring.
Yup! They are very pricy these days. Sometimes simple is best. Mind you I’ve currently got Britain’s cheapest car at £14k on loan and it shows you get what you pay for.
I absolutely adored my Hyundai I30N when I first got it in March 2018. In Performance blue. Stunning. 6 years later and it’s not aged well.
Why do you think that?
Yeah, why has it aged badly?? The behavior of some N owners put you off??
Im a big fan of your channel u speak french very well!
I absolutely adore my i20n, such a joyful car and special on every single drive, best car ever and a real head turner😊. Thanks for doing this review.
Happy to share the love and really appreciate your comments👍!
I second that my N bro! 🤝😀

You should do a long term review yourself! I agree with your comments-that collision alert system at the front is blooming annoying!

Good news for us as owners, though, and the car residuals with the order book being shut.

I'm about to buy one, depending on the wait time...
Couple of corrections. It defaults to Normal, not N mode at start.
And the screen is 10 inch. Should have talked about the red rev match button too!
Are you satisfied with your purchase of the i20n ?

Yes. For the money there’s not much else to touch it in terms of fun and equipment.

Nonsense, I drive it only on weekends and no issues with starting up.
Ronaldo or Messi?
Maradona.
Don't expect much for £25,000? The price of cars fitted with all the unecessary gadgets is obscene. I'll stick with the Morris.
