I used to dread sitting in my old computer chair. After some serious back problems, I invested in the embody for a chair that will last me a long time and help me with my posture. I've had it for about a year, it takes time to get used to that lumbar. It's very much worth every penny.
Thanks for the mention/shoutout! Glad to hear you're liking the armrests, I know that when I first bought both of the chairs I have I was just a little disappointed with the feel of the armrests but now that I've discovered these it's become much less of an issue. If I find any other cool accessories that I think you/your viewers might like I'll let you know.
I lucked out on my Embody. I’ve worked for the same doctor for 5 years now and for my birthday he asked me if there was anything I wanted. At the time I was looking to replace my chair so I asked for an Embody.
Getting good chairs for your employees to sit in as they literally make you money is the ABSOLUTE least you could do as a boss. At least your boss got you a REALLY nice one.
That’s epic! I’ve been at my job for 3 years and I’ve had to scrounge all my desk stuff. I also have to buy my own tools and apparently datacom stuff is expensive. I’ve only just now convinced them to buy me a magnetic tray to hold screws. Even the new employees get new chairs. How’ve you liked the Embody?
@@DenyTheZeitgeistDude, I feel you on the employer struggles (and I’m jealous of the comment thread OP for getting bought an Embody from what sounds like a great employer)! I work at a charity, which at least gives them some excuse for being stingy on providing equipment and such for employees… but only a little! I’ve been at my job for 9 years (which is actually horrifying to me on several levels, and more than double the length of time I’ve ever been at a job! It was great for some of that time at least, if not now 😝) and my PC is literally 10 years old, with a 4th gen Intel processor! I mean, I had a 10th gen in the MacBook Pro I bought in 2020, which I’ve already upgraded to an Apple Silicon M1 Pro MBP and which absolutely smokes the work PC, to the point where it’s not even a fair fight! 😂 I at least upgraded the work PC RAM to 16GB *many* years ago and added an SSD, but lets be honest - it’s still a POS! I had the option of getting a clunky mid-range Dell Latitude laptop to replace the old desktop… but since I’ve WFH for 4 years and just remote in to the office PC (and I work in IT, so I do often need to be actually inside the work network to access a bunch of stuff), there’s no way I want to faff around with having a second laptop at home and it being so screamingly mediocre in comparison to my own, so I’ve resisted so far… I’ve got totally sidetracked ranting about my computers instead of the actual point of this video and comment, gah! But the chair situation goes along very similar lines… My company has a selection of largely bog-standard ergonomic chairs from a company called Posturite (.co.uk), and for the first few years mine was lousy and giving me low-level (but increasing) back (and hip and knee) pain. When the head of dept retired, I managed to snag his chair - still from the same company, but much higher backed and with proper additional customisable lumbar support (as well as a wider and deeper seat pan… though the retiree had a much slighter build than me, so many adjustments were needed!), and it was a revelation! The chair was at least 10 years old though, and creaky and semi-broken in a few not-so-key ways, but it was amazing to have dramatically reduced back pain from that chair 🎉 Flash forward to 2020, and suddenly the no-name brand ancient hand-me-down Freecycled office chair I had at home was absolutely no good for all day every day, and that rapidly increased the urgency of my “find the perfect chair” vision quest 😂 And I didn’t want to get that big black plastic hulking monstrosity of a semi-broken chair brought home to use in my fairly small apartment, and wanted something a bit sleeker that didn’t stick out like a sore thumb. I ended up getting a refurbished Humanscale Freedom (with headrest… which it turns out I hate! I either have my hair in a bun or ponytail and it’s just never compatible with that so is always uncomfortable), after previously trying it in a shop and not liking it, then trying out a friend’s over a long weekend and finding it a lot nicer… but tbh I haven’t ever loved sitting in it, and I feel like it’s now the cause of my current back pain and it’s well past time to change things up. Also, the gas lift has been broken for a year+, and I’ve lacked the confidence and tools to change it myself at home 😬 and while the lowest height is *ok* for me, especially as I now have a standing desk that I can lower down a bit, it would definitely be better to go up a little bit as I’m 5’8”! To top it all off, the armrests are totally ruined - initially I think because I often tended to sit with my chin resting on one hand and my elbow on the arm rest (and that was the side with the initial damage) while I moused with the other hand… but I also got two kittens in summer 2022, who have destroyed everything 😹 They both decided the back of the chair was actually a cat-tree in disguise, so have made the whole thing very obnoxiously creaky with their repeated jumping up and hanging out up there on the headrest (especially as they’re now 6kg and 10kg - Maine Coons, not huge chonks! 😹)… the armrests they’ve contributed to thoroughly destroying are at least user-replaceable, but I haven’t committed to actually buying any yet because I feel like my heart isn’t really in this chair… and the armrest replacement definitely won’t help with my back! My flat also gets very hot and I hate being hot and sweaty, so I’ve been looking at mesh options… I’ve sat in a friend’s Aeron and don’t think it’s for me, especially as a fidgeter who likes to sometimes sit cross legged or with one leg tucked up under me, so the edge of the seat pan seems like a super uncomfortable obstacle. Not that they’re mesh, but over the years I’ve also been interested in the Steelcase Leap 2 and Gesture, but haven’t been able to try them out… plus any second- hand option to buy them in the UK has very limited colourways, and since it’s for my home in an open-plan room I really don’t want the basic black. The Haworth Zody has also been way up there on my shortlist, especially in the white frame and green balsam mesh/seat colourway… but apparently in the UK we’re not allowed nice things like green and white ergo chairs 😭 The Steelcase Karman (in the peacock colourway… I’m fully in to the green-or-teal and white aesthetic now!) has been calling to me… but I fear the back wouldn’t come up high enough for me, and that the lumbar support wouldn’t be enough either… plus I don’t think I can get that colourway here either! The definite advantage of the Embody for me is being able to get it, in the UK, in the new gaming-variant galaxy colourway (green and white, baby!), without it needing to be a non-returnable custom order… I’m leaning towards just pressing the button and getting one for at least the 14 day period where I can return it for free, and I’ll either love it and keep it (and probably rue the charge on my credit card!), or send it back without a big drama (and then go back to the drawing board)! This comment has basically been a form of therapy, and I think I’m leaning towards the maybe-trial-ish purchase of an Embody now… but I’ve been searching for the “perfect” chair for many years now, so who knows if I’ll stick with that plan 😂 (on the offchance anyone has a comparison between a Haworth Zody or Sofi [or the Humanscale Freedom!] and the Embody, I’m here for it 😊
Just picked up my gaming embody after watching your videos on it and checking it out at a HM store. They had it in stock with the 25% off but I went home and ordered it using your link (which was also 25% off) because your video convinced me to go do something about my back pain from sitting on an Ikea chair. Looking forward to getting it early December! Thanks for coming back to the chair with a long term use video.
Dude! Thank you! One thing - you can get 5% extra off. Reach out to customer support and say you weren’t able to use the code G2esports5 and you’d like to see if you can get the extra 5% off!!!
I bought a used classic loaded Aeron for work 3-4 years ago and it is a good as ever ( bought the atlas head rest too ). But it was time for a NEW chair at the my home, it is almost 35 years old, I am a LOT older than you... I ended up getting a gaming Embody that was on sale. I did use your Link btw so you should have a credit from me. I SOOOO need that head rest!!! My Embody is actually pretty darn quiet btw. I tend to nap a LOT in my office chair so, it's one of the reasons I ALMOST didn't buy one. The engineer that I am, knowing the headrest the is coming, was the turning point. I bought the gaming Embody. I appreciate the time you put in. Thanks again!!! (and yes I went on the preorder list when I got home from work!!!)
It's a huge honor when big channels like yours comment!!! Appreciate it and I'll post any immediate updates on my IG as well as post a video as soon as I get that prototype!
Discovered your channel recently while shopping for a new office/gaming chair. I ended up with a Herman Miller x Logitech G Embody, and I'm finding everything you had to say about it on point. As a 6' 3" person, I was really worried about the height of the backrest, so I really appreciated your friend Yong's take on the embody in your Hemsworth Fern review. Only thing I'd add is that the Embody doesn't need to touch the top of you shoulders or neck because the rest of your back is so supported. So great to find a resource like your channel that gets what people really care about when evaluating a product. Earned a subscribe from me!
I am so happy that I found this channel and your comment ! 🙌🏼 I am also 6.3“ and been dying to find people with my height who got that chair and can give some information on it. Do you have the atlas headrest for it ? I want to buy this chair and I will use it for home office usage / gaming usually around 6-8 hours sessions and also reclining and watching TH-cam / movies eventually. Could you please give me some information on your usage of the chair and if I can complete my wished tasks comfortably ? I am not sure if I need the headrest but I guess for reclining I would have too right ? Thank you in advance !
Good stuff Ahn. I had purchased an Embody from an AD a month ago, it’s scheduled to get here mid June. An acquaintance of mine that does used office furniture had let me know that he got one in and was selling it for $650 (new cost me about $1300) I did not notice the new Embody refresh incorporated all of the gaming embody changes (the lumbar is also the same as the gaming too now) I was considering cancelling my new one to get the used one for half the cost but in light of the refresh I will stick with the new one.
Because of you I am now obsessed with ergonomic chairs....can you make a video on how to explain to your family you are going to purchase a $2500 office chair LOL
Make sure you watch today's video (releases at 12PM). And let me know how the convo with your family goes about you spending $200 on a headrest :-D :-D hahaha in all seriousness, the chair can be a business write off, or if you get a medical letter of necessity, you can use your HSA/FSA for it. I actually am going to make a video on this, now that I've done some research...hahaha
@dantesantoyo3460 yessir I did! Link below! Please consider using my links if you decide to pick up!! Helps the channel a LOT! Save TONS of Money on (Almost) Any Ergonomic Chair! th-cam.com/video/R6uTGwBd54g/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for this video, it was extremely helpful. I've been looking for a new, proper chair for months, and in the end always sat on the fence about the Embody. This makes me feel more confident with the investment, and I'm gonna give it a try. Thank you again!
I just wanted to thank you. I had like 0 idea which chair to buy and you managed to explain why Embody would be a perfect chair for me. I just pulled the trigger and ordered it.
I actually bought an Embody in from an office resale outlet over here in the UK and managed to get it for around £600 (so about half price). it wasn't in pristine condition and you could see a few signs of wear but it was the best chair I've ever sat in. I've had it a couple of years and it's starting to get very creaky so I said screw it and forked out for the Logitech Gaming one as I love it so much and the 12 year warranty is hella decent. To your point about the competition being real that's completely valid however I would say that extra that you're paying for the Embody is probably for the styling. The Embody is such a unique looking chair that even if someone saw it and didn't know anything about Herman Miller they would probably get that this is a special chair where as many if not most of it's competitors just look like a bog standard office chair (even though they have all the features under the hood that make them more special than most). Just my two cents (great reviews by the way!)
You are the BEST!!!! Also, I ran into a bit of a scuffle with Herman Miller and so was wondering if they ghosted me from their affiliate program, so your purchase confirmed that that is not the case. I REALLY REALLY appreciate it!
One of the key design philosophies of the Embody is to 'encourage movement'. The core concept is that there is no singular perfect position for ergonomics - some positions are better than others, but all positions overtime will result in discomfort and pressure build up. This is why hospital patients that are immobile need help being turned in bed so as to prevent bed sores. Slouching in your seat isn't a problem if its comfortable - but when it does become uncomfortable for any part (e.g. your lower back), you should be aware to move yourself into a new position. Additionally, a more open angle between your thighs and back is generally more healthful than a straight up position - ideal is 120 degree as past that point your lower spine will rotate rather than your thighs - to accommodate for the angle change between leg and torso. If you use the Embody as intended (which admittedly isn't something that automatically happens) - it does a fantastic job of supporting your body throughout a wide range of motion throughout the day.
Thanks for doing this video. Yeah, when I tried the Embody chair years ago my impression was that it had some cool ideas, but that it needed some more refinement. I like the way the arm width adjustment also changes their pitch, but it seems like it would be nice to have some more granularity in that adjustment (both in the number of positions available, and maybe a feature to lock a given position in place). Also, the supports on the backrest seem a little heterogeneous and hard, so that you can actually feel the individual backrest support components poking through the upholstery. It sounds like Herman Miller made a lot more changes to the gaming version of the Embody than they were forthcoming about in the marketing literature, so your observations there are invaluable. I feel like your subscribers should all pitch in and get you the new regular version of the Embody, so you can report back to us. ;) Anyway, keep up the good work. I love your channel and wanted to say how much good you are doing for people in making their buying decisions. When people make more informed decisions, chair manufacturers will get a clearer idea of what matters to office workers, so that's a great thing. Thanks again.
Thank you for the kind words!!! As for my subscribers pitching in to buy a chair - that's cool, but I'd rather get them to pitch in and buy a chair for someone in need! Lord knows I don't have the space for anymore chairs lol (should have reviewed gaming mice...)
Cool to see you shoot an update on these chairs. I'd highly recommend trying the regular version with scrim, is just better in all aspects compared to the gaming version in my opinion. The armrests could really use an update though especially now that they've increased the price to $1900,-.....Either way I'll throw atlas an email to join the preorder list, I feel like a headrest is really something this chair could use when leaning back.
@emileriksson5067 after sitting in them for a while, I’m liking the gaming a bit more. Just more cushion in the backrest! Hope that helps! If you decide to pick up, please consider using my link! 20% off sale right now!
@@Erikzzon Gaming embody has a foam lower in the back that does not extend all the way along the back. To me it felt awkward and felt like it was trying to push my upper back forward into a 'gamerneck' posture. To me this is an absolute no-go. Seat is comparable to the regular embody with scrim. From what I remember there wasn't a massive difference although the regular version felt like it compressed less than the gaming version, making it slightly more comfortable. But this might just be placebo due to my disliking the partial foam strip in the back the gaming version has. Extra cooling or whatever the gaming version was supposed to have because of the copper flecks made 0 difference. Either way I'd suggest trying some other chairs aswell and not blind buying; because of my build(athletic) even the regular embody felt like it was trying to curve both of my shoulders forward. Had to fight the chair(push back with my shoulders) for a couple months at least before this let up. Been using the chair for almost 2 years now. It has been worth the money I spent on it to me but it's not without faults. I still think the armrests are subpar for the price HM asks for the chair.
i just got my embody chair today after snatching up one with 20% discount. its hands down the most comfortable chair i ever had the pleasure of using. the arm rest is perfect for my table and i feel so good loafing in this baby
Thank you for sharing this. I'm going to be visiting a showroom to try the gaming version soon. As someone who works from home, my back/hips have been destroyed. While I get the price point is steep for most, I'm blessed with a discount on the Gaming Embody and additional work from home allowance to put towards the purchase. I'm almost 90% sure I'll be purchasing, but I'd like to actually sit in it first. Appreciate the year update and happy to see there will be headrest in the future!
Mine with Sync fabric like the logitech one (but without the bumps in it - even better) arrived today together with the atlas head-rest. Thanks for your reviews. It's worth every damn cent of it! And for me actually, the lumbar support fits perfectly 🙂
Great review, man! I spent a lot of time researching an ergonomic chair now that I'm working from home full-time. I was drawn to the embody, but I wanted to know the differences between the Logitech vs standard version. I watched all your Embody videos and settled on the standard version. I made sure to use your link too so you should see that commission come in soon👍 Thanks again!
Thank you! If you're in the USA, please consider using my links! Helps the channel a LOT! Make sure you use the code as well (see description) for the extra 5% off!
I neeeeeed the headrest for my embody. I've always had a headrest on my chair, not having one is so uncomfortable for me. Its going to be better than christmas when they finally release it and i can get my hands on one.
I bought mine (along an aeron) around 2 months ago with the spring discount. It was hard to choose at the beginning, since both chairs had their up and downs, but I chose to keep the Embody because it felt like it was the most comfortable out of the two, aside from also being ergonomic. It was hard to adjust to them, but once I did, while the Aeron still felt a bit annoying, the Embody felt pretty comfy and natural to just sit and keep a good posture. I don’t dislike the armrests. They are definitely way too simple for the price of the chair and they should have more adjustments than what it has, but at least, they fall in a comfortable range for me, so it’s not something that bothers me. The backrest and seat are great. I still have some tailbone soreness after using it for a while, but it’s much, much less sore than in my old chair. As for the sacral(?) support, I had my issues with it too. Sometimes it would feel like it was sticking out and trying to stab me in my back, but after playing a bit more with the adjustments it just stopped being a problem.
@@vloneseraph kinda late to reply, but great. I used to have some tailbone pain (which was originally caused by bad posture) from my old gaming chair, but ever since I’ve switched to the Embody it has been great. It’s not like a memory foam cushion, since it’s based on their weird spring design, so it’s a bit hard, but once you get used to it, it feels great.
@@juan2049 I think it was at around 1700€ for the original pricing in their gaming page (we don’t have their regular stores in my country, so I had to stick with that), but I got it in their spring sale (-20% I think) and the final price was 1378€.
Just got the Logitech one and I am very happy with it. My previous chair had me looking for any excuse to get out of it after an hour or more in it. Just sat in this one for 5+ hours and got up feeling better than when I sat down lol. Obviously the price is crazy but it’s definitely an investment on my physical health that I have been needing
Just bought one today. USD1650. So still extortionate but at least it's nearer the old price point. Arrives in a few days. Your reviews were key to me choosing this chair, plus going and sitting on one and a steelcase gesture (which felt good but just looks too normal to replace my old gaming chair with and spend so much money on). So it turned up today. Was really liking it until I decided to put it into full recline to game for a couple of hours with a controller. I was worried about head support and was thinking of getting the atlas headrest, but in actuality after 30 mins my legs started to go numb! Couldn't believe it because this is the gaming aspect of a chair for me; leaning back and playing for a bit. Have found that the second tilt settings is fine for me. But any further and the front of the seat, I guess, cuts off leg circulation. I already have the seat at the lowest and am 173cm, 70kg so average height and weight. The only solution I can think of is a footstool when gaming, or not going any further back than the second tilt lock, but that's no solution!
@@vinnyc6457at this point I definitely can't recommend it unless you can return for free within a set period. I can't where I live so I'm kind of stuck with it and will do what I can to adjust to it. Have ordered a cheap footrest to take pressure off my legs and will try to adjust to it over time. But based on my current experience it's been mostly discomfort so far, especially when reclining (my back has started hurting from trying to do that as I did in my old chair and from trying to tighten up the back to get used to tighter support. One thing to note is I noticed coming back on a work coach today that the pronounced lumbar support is painful for me. So I may just have an oddly or badly shaped back that is gonna take some serious getting used to an ergonomic chair. I have no history of backpain though and have never found other chairs painful to sit in: except for that coach seat.
@@formulaic78 incredible and thanks for the response. I’m heading to a store now actually to test some out and will mention your feedback. Best of luck
@@vinnyc6457 the thing to bear in mind is you really will be clueless until you try them out at home for several days at least. And who knows, maybe with patience and some adaptation I'll end up loving the embody: I certainly want to.
@@vinnyc6457 I've been away from home for a couple of nights (and my back needed that to recover from the chair). But while away I read the embody design white paper and learned that those with a curved back (me) should actually loosen the backfit, while those with a flatter back should tighten it up: "With the Backfit adjustment, the sitter rotates the entire back rearward or forward. A sitter with a curved back rotates it rearward, effectively providing more room for the thoracic curvature. ... A person with a flat back brings the backrest forward..." So the pain I've gotten in the chair has mostly come from trying to tighten up the back for more support, though it seems this is not what my back requires (I think I will try tightening it a little over time to see if that helps me though, I just won't be aggressive with it now I know that this is not necessarily good for my body shape). I've also stuck a ream of paper on the floor as a footrest this morning and that's helping with the numb legs. The final thing for me I suspect is if I wanna use it as a console gaming chair then I'm gonna have to buy the headrest to help support me when leaning back, and use a footstool too (gonna buy a cheap adjustable wooden one and then upgrade to something nicer once figured out what precise adjustability I need). I may also not be able to lean all the way back in this chair, because I also discovered it leans back further than I was leaning back in my old chair (because the old chair had a cushion headrest which made me actually not lean as far back as the angle of the chair if that makes sense). Anyway, good luck with your chair hunting, but I wouldn't rule out the embody due to my teething issues. If you're in America just use that 30 day return period to the fullest!
I bought a secretlabs titan evo 2022 XL because of your review. I got the one with the fabric and I like it. Much better then my Amazon special $200 chair It didn’t last too long, I’m 6’1 265. The secretlabs xl is a god send. thanks.
Man finally a review of someone sitting cross-legged. I sit cross legged 75% of the time, and being tall, the seat is never large enough to accommodate that, and I'm debating between a couch or a chair. Great honest review man! I just have two more questions: - Is the wheel base metal on both? This is important to me for longevity. - How do you keep the chair clean from the "booty juices"? / do you have video explaining that in general?
Yes for metal base, and not sure the best way to clean a chair. I talked a while back working with a chair company to do a cleaning video, but no luck so far. If you decide to pick up, please consider using my link! Helps the channel a lot!
Do you think the higher seat cylinder extension is worth getting? I'm 6"2" - about to get my gaming embody and I have the choice for the standard seat cylinder at 16 - 20.5 inches or the higher extension that gives you 17 - 22 inches
I wanted to thank you for your reviews, top quality work you're putting into these videos, great information and feedback of your experience. I originally purchased the Aeron and decided to cancel it for better comfort because I noticed I move my body a lot more frequently on a subconscious level. I received my Logitech x Herman Miller Embody and within half a day it's really given me a comfort level I've never experienced before. I've been using the 2019 secretlab since release until this point and have no regrets with the purchase. If it wasn't for your review I would have stick to Aeron, although I doubt both products you can't go wrong.
As always, great video. Can’t wait for the headrest. I’ve found the “issues” people have with the armrests kind of exaggerated. They’re still better than most others
My left armrest always pops away from me. I hate that it can't lock in place for when I need to shift and lean on it. It's the only think I consider a problem with this chair, which is otherwise suited to my height.
@@RecklessFables I can see that potentially being an issue yeah. I guess I’m lucky because I always have mine on the widest setting. They haven’t moved on me once
I have not experienced the gaming version. But any embody regular version manufactured after February 2021 has also added extra pads under the cushion. I'm curious about when your normal version of embody was manufactured , because you mentioned the gaming version is more comfortable. If your regular embody is manufactured after February 2021, still the gaming version of the embody is more comfortable, I think I have to consider selling my embody and replace it with the gaming version. Thank you for making a lot of videos to help people buy the chairs they need, and you've helped me choose as well. Unfortunately the australia dealer does not have a gaming version option, so if I need to buy one, I need to buy it from the US and wait 12-14 weeks to receive it, I can't wait!
Hey! I mentioned the extra padding in the video - I haven't been able to sit on a more recent Embody (mine was mfred in Dec of 2020!! SO CLOSE!) but I can say the gaming Embody does feel noticeably more cushy, but I can sit in either all day!
Looking for a gaming chair that I can also lay back in to listen to music and just relax. Don't want to have to use my hands behind my head to hold it up. Comfort all around is desired. Money is not an issue. Thoughts on best one on the market?
Personally love Embody after some lower back pain. I feel Embody along with Herman Miller comes from heaven to save us from back pain. Thank you Herman Miller!
Hahahaha np! If I may….do ittttt!!! Hahaha jk no pressure but if you decide to pick up, please consider using my links! Helps the channel a LOT!!! Keep me posted!
I think I’d be happy either way. Gaming embody has a bit more cushion, but little more noise. Non gaming embody has more color options. Hope that helps! If you decide to pick up, please consider using my links. Helps the channel a lot!
Your videos are made brilliantly. They are well scripted, the footage is superb and the editing is marvelous. You should really review other things or also do some other content.
I tried upping it to 2x a week and do a "tech tuesday", but honestly, the editing kills me (time and energy wise) and my studio isn't big enough to have "dedicated" spaces for various reviews (setting up takes half a day). I have a family, so hiring an editor is a big risk. I'm trying to open up more revenue streams so I can reduce the risk in hiring an editor, so fingers crossed!!
@@Ahnestly Understandable. I've also edited a few things and I know the effort behind it. I just checked out your Instagram, haven't followed until now. I didn't expect you to have a family because you look extremely young.
Will you do a review on the Hermon Miller Mirra 2 fully loaded? I keep readying where it is considered the most underrated chair on the market. Considered by many as the best chair on the market.
@@Ahnestly if you could make a cleaning guide, I think that'd be a dope video. I'm trying to dig up resources and videos but there's not much real guides on it.
Direct experience? Unfortunately not. But Sync is most commonly used today whereas rhythm is an older fabric. If you’re interested in a headrest, I recommend you check out my headrest videos for what colors/fabrics will be available so you get an exact match for your chair!
Hmm...in practice, they're about the same. I think I kinda prefer the gaming version bc of the thicker padding! If you decide to pick up, please consider using my links as it helps my channel a LOT!!
Tough one….I would love to check out the newer non gaming embody and decide. Without having tried it though, I do really like the padding of the gaming embodies! If you decide to pick up, they’re having a 20% off sale right now (see link/code in description - please consider using as it helps the channel a lot!)
would you rather have the gaming one or the new scrim normal one? which is softer do you think? do you think that makes it more even with the gaming one?
I think I just answered your other Q lol. I still think the gaming will be softer still, since the scrim sits underneath both I believe. But the gaming fabric has the "copper infused gel" inside the fabric as well as that scrim layer.

@@Ahnestly first of all, thank's a lot! I'm very light 130lbs 5,2" and my butt hurts after 6 hours in this chair, unfortunately, do you know another chair that seat is more confortable than that? I normally use a latex pillow, but I don't want to use on this chair hehehe
I've just received my new Embody Chair a few days ago, I had the chance to test it at a local retailer but after 8h sitting on it I felt like my butt hurt a bit... BUT, no more back pain. Now that it's been 2 weeks I don't have much butt pain, also I switch between the chair and a standing position. Also, I've sent Atlas Headrest an email, I hope a Slate Grey version will be available. It has a clear back..
@@stevenyoung5210 Unfortunately, not really. I just switch to standing position sometime during the day before it start to become uncomfortable. The thing is, when it start to become uncomfortable it's already after 7-8 or more hours in the chair. So it's manageable and I think we're not meant to sit this long anyways, so in another chair I would have switch to a more comfortable but less ergomomic position instead, what I'm not doing here. So what I do is take a short pause sometime and switch to standing position multiple time a day. I still sit 80% of the time tho, but changing position kind of fixes the issue.
Follow me on Instagram. That video got struck by TH-cam. I’m so mad bc there are TONS of videos about the same thing. My guess is HM watches me content and I put that video in my end card and they might have seen it and struck it…it was a counterfeit strike, and that kind of strike requires specific reasoning. I appealed and waiting to hear back
@@Ahnestly Ah, gotcha. Thanks for clarifying as I thought there were issues with quality or something. Too bad about the block, hope your appeal goes through!
i know that you mentioned that there was an update on the regular embody seating with the upgraded cushion. did you ever get a chance to try the updated version in the end? if so, how does it compare to the Gaming Embody? i guess the backing would still be different - right?
I'm thinking about getting the logitech embody, but I'm worried that I'll get to hot sitting in it for long hours. Does it offer any bit of breathability for your back?
why does it seem your not sat upright in that chair? is it becaue you locked it in that position, or is it the chair that wont allow a propper upright position?
The chair cannot be locked in a tilt position. It can be adjusted so you can sit very upright, but I prefer a slightly relaxed back position, which is why you see me slightly tilted
What a cool intro! I got the Embody at the beginning of the pandemic, my body aches have reduced or gone away. When I use other chairs I do miss my Embody. Now I am considering to get a Capisco to improve mobility while on home office. I watched your video on the Capisco and it looks like it would be a good pair to have and use both during the day.
Yes it is. All chairs have that slight movement when locked upright. The embody feels like it moves more bc of how the back flexes. If you don’t like that, recommend unlocking the back tilt and tightening the back tilt tension a lot
I have a group buy discount for the regular embody but am limited to basic graphite black specs no upgrades...for $1840 Canadian dollars plus tax which is significantly lower than $2,126.25 plus tax for the gaming embody with the current 25% off promo....but not being able to customize the specs kinda sucks. Everyone I watch prefers the gaming embody over the regular, but is the differences and the ability to pick chair aesthetics (colours) worth the price difference of $300? I'm in a mental dilemma lol
I’ve read that the front portion of the seat when not extended (for people who are shorter like myself) creates a pain point on the back of your thighs? Does anyone know how true this is? (I’m 5 foot 6) - thanks!
If you have short legs that dangle, most chair fronts will make contact. I have had 0 issues (also 5’6), but if you feel like it’s an issue, you can easily solve it with a footrest. I made a video on footrests - you can reference that! If you decide to pick up (embody or footrest) please consider using my links! Helps the channel a lot! And HM Gaming is 20% off but ends on 8/25!
What are those foam attachments on the arm rests? When I tried the embody that was the one deal breaker for me. The arm rests had such limited options for mobility, and they felt very uncomfortable edit found them from your description. I'm so torn between this chair and the gesture I'm about to order both and then return one. Just hoping the return process is easy!
Hey! My Ahnest recommendation is buy both during this sale (steelcase ends on the 28) and then return the one you don’t like lol. Shipping is free, just make sure to keep the box!
@@Ahnestly Man I am frustrated, so they had ready to ship gestures with a headrest for 25% off, now they don't even have them with a headrest period for ready to ship. and instead of 25% off it's 20.....Pretty frustrating especially because ready to ship would come a lot faster than a pre built. Oh well guess my own fault for waiting
@ahnestly Thanks for the great review. I'm on an Aeron Classic and use the forward tilt 99% of the time. Looking for a new chair because the Aeron armpads width is too wide for a small guy like me. Should I be concerned that the Embody does not have a forward tilt mode?
I just recently bought the Logitech Embody and have been using it for almost 3 weeks. I wanted to invest in a great chair that helps encourage a better posture since I spend so much time at my computer. I’ve been constantly adjusting it trying to find what feels the most natural/comfortable. I still feel pressure in my lower back after sitting in it for a bit. I’m not sure if my body is just still getting used to sitting correctly or if I don’t have the support in the right place. I love everything about the chair but I just want to make sure that my investment is paying off. I appreciate any insight or suggestions.
It's hard to give advice when I don't know how you're sitting. I would say make sure you follow common guidelines on how you should sit in a chair and if it's not working for you, try to order another chair from a mfr that you trust (most people who can afford a HM usually pick something like steelcase) and try that. Then, keep the chair you feel is a better fit and return or sell the one you find yourself not liking. Unfortunately, bodies are all different and not everyone will fit in every chair :-(
Hey! I've had an Embody for years now and have the same feeling about it. It's pretty tough to know if it's misconfiguration, misuse or incompatibility. For what it's worth, you can try changing the backfit until you feel your eyes are looking parallel to the floor when fully pressed against the backrest, with it locked on the most vertical position.
@@sebascorrea97 I definitely appreciate both responses! I love the designs of Herman Miller chairs and how high quality they are. I had my eyes on the embody for a while. May I ask, Sebastian, why you didn’t sell your embody and get a different chair if you continued to have pressure in your lower back after a few years? Or did you eventually find the right setting where it felt comfortable?
@@primitive_data I live in Uruguay. I had already payed about 2.5k for the Embody and when I tried to sell it, people only wanted to pay about 700 or 1k. I wasn't about to give it away and couldn't justify risking another 2k on some other chair. This Monday I actually got a Leap V2. Payed an astronomical 1.6k. Sucks to be in a market like mine where ADs rip you off and don't even offer trial periods. To your other question, I couldn't find a comfortable setting for the Embody. I tried lots of stuff. Edit: I bought it on Monday, but as it is an import it's going to be here on July. The AD didn't want to import a chair in the color I wanted and I had to import it myself. Edit: there was a sale and I managed to snag it for 1440 USD.
@@Ahnestly After visiting a Design Within Reach, I came to a conclusion that the Aeron is what I'm needing for the support in my lower back.
Lol for sure!!
I lucked out on my Embody. I’ve worked for the same doctor for 5 years now and for my birthday he asked me if there was anything I wanted. At the time I was looking to replace my chair so I asked for an Embody.
No way lucky 😮
Whats your opinion on it? I would like to know
Getting good chairs for your employees to sit in as they literally make you money is the ABSOLUTE least you could do as a boss.
I had the option of getting a clunky mid-range Dell Latitude laptop to replace the old desktop… but since I’ve WFH for 4 years and just remote in to the office PC (and I work in IT, so I do often need to be actually inside the work network to access a bunch of stuff), there’s no way I want to faff around with having a second laptop at home and it being so screamingly mediocre in comparison to my own, so I’ve resisted so far…
I’ve got totally sidetracked ranting about my computers instead of the actual point of this video and comment, gah! The chair was at least 10 years old though, and creaky and semi-broken in a few not-so-key ways, but it was amazing to have dramatically reduced back pain from that chair 🎉
Flash forward to 2020, and suddenly the no-name brand ancient hand-me-down Freecycled office chair I had at home was absolutely no good for all day every day, and that rapidly increased the urgency of my “find the perfect chair” vision quest 😂 And I didn’t want to get that big black plastic hulking monstrosity of a semi-broken chair brought home to use in my fairly small apartment, and wanted something a bit sleeker that didn’t stick out like a sore thumb.
Not that they’re mesh, but over the years I’ve also been interested in the Steelcase Leap 2 and Gesture, but haven’t been able to try them out… plus any second-
hand option to buy them in the UK has very limited colourways, and since it’s for my home in an open-plan room I really don’t want the basic black.

I did use your Link btw so you should have a credit from me. I SOOOO need that head rest!!! My Embody is actually pretty darn quiet btw.

Hey! All good!! Thank you for the kind words and I’m glad you found a chair that would fit your needs!!! Keep me posted!!!
Thank you!

Just bought one using your link. Thank you for the great video. Super helpful.
You are the BEST!!!! Also, I ran into a bit of a scuffle with Herman Miller and so was wondering if they ghosted me from their affiliate program, so your purchase confirmed that that is not the case. I REALLY REALLY appreciate it!
Thanks
Love itttt!
“For you to take a few seconds out your day to hate me, I appreciate that!” I love this brother hahaha

I feel like your subscribers should all pitch in and get you the new regular version of the Embody, so you can report back to us. ;)
Anyway, keep up the good work.
I hate you so much….I WANT A SCRIM LAYERRRR!!! Haha
Can you explain why you think the regular version with scrim is better than the gaming version? Im trying to decide which one to buy.

Gaming embody has a foam lower in the back that does not extend all the way along the back.
I can't wait for the headrest. Sent an email to be added to the waitlist. Thanks for the update!

I neeeeeed the headrest for my embody. I've always had a headrest on my chair, not having one is so uncomfortable for me. Its going to be better than christmas when they finally release it and i can get my hands on one.
Just bought a fully loaded embody used for $900, love it so far
any updates on when that headrest might be coming out? according to the email I got, it should be very soon hopefully

You are reviewing the Amia?! I am very excited about this. Subscribed!
Yup yup!
Sometimes it would feel like it was sticking out and trying to stab me in my back, but after playing a bit more with the adjustments it just stopped being a problem.
how do you feel about the seat cushion?
How much did you end up paying?
@@inadover thank you. I got a quote for a new one (non-gaming) from my local dealer and they said it’s $1300. So sounds like it’s a decent deal then
I got my new Embody last Friday, and my Atlas headrest should ship within the next few weeks. So far, my chair is a dream come true.

Got my Embody Logitech Gaming chair for two weeks now. Love love it
Just got the Logitech one and I am very happy with it. My previous chair had me looking for any excuse to get out of it after an hour or more in it. Just sat in this one for 5+ hours and got up feeling better than when I sat down lol. Obviously the price is crazy but it’s definitely an investment on my physical health that I have been needing
glad you like it!!!

the "lumbar" on the gaming embody is one of my favorite lumbar supports of all time
Just bought one today.
So not one you’d recommend? Because that’s how I’d like to use it on top of being a wfh chair too. Thanks for the comment!
But while away I read the embody design white paper and learned that those with a curved back (me) should actually loosen the backfit, while those with a flatter back should tighten it up:
"With the Backfit adjustment, the sitter rotates the entire back rearward or forward. A sitter with a curved back rotates it rearward, effectively providing more room for the thoracic curvature. ... A person with a flat back brings the backrest forward..."
So the pain I've gotten in the chair has mostly come from trying to tighten up the back for more support, though it seems this is not what my back requires (I think I will try tightening it a little over time to see if that helps me though, I just won't be aggressive with it now I know that this is not necessarily good for my body shape).

I just have two more questions:
- Is the wheel base metal on both?

Hey man, which chair would you recommend, compared to this one, that is cheaper and has a great cost and benefit to it?
I tried both and the Logitech felt way more comfortable and cooler then the regular one. Ended up getting the Logitech version.

Just made this video! th-cam.com/video/dENnkLM1QB0/w-d-xo.html
What brand are arm rest pads? Are they imprinting or damaging the original arm rests?
I've just received my new Embody Chair a few days ago, I had the chance to test it at a local retailer but after 8h sitting on it I felt like my butt hurt a bit... BUT, no more back pain. Now that it's been 2 weeks I don't have much butt pain, also I switch between the chair and a standing position.
Also, I've sent Atlas Headrest an email, I hope a Slate Grey version will be available. It has a clear back..
Me too. Butt pain a little bit but no back pain. Butt pain is okay and bearable.
did you figure out how to sit in it without butt pain? Just got mine and it's killing me! I want to like it but may have to return it.

What a cool intro! I got the Embody at the beginning of the pandemic, my body aches have reduced or gone away. When I use other chairs I do miss my Embody. So on your recommendation I got the Gaming chair. But I found that fully locked forward the chair still moves/rocked slightly. Is that normal?
Yes it is. All chairs have that slight movement when locked upright. The embody feels like it moves more bc of how the back flexes. If you don’t like that, recommend unlocking the back tilt and tightening the back tilt tension a lot
Can someone say what that something big he's going to do with Atlas is?

Great review what chair do you recommend for sitting for 8-10 hours a day?
I've got a best chairs of 2024 video and a new list coming later in October!
I get my embody regular. When i sit, there is a crackling noise every time. Is that normal. ?
Hi sir, Iam thinking about a new chair. Office + Gaming: do you have a top 3 for this?

I definitely appreciate both responses!
