Glad you got them back mate, can't believe the damage the idiots did to the bikes. Makes my blood boil, takes me back when I was a kid had my Grifter stolen and my father looked everywhere for it for a week , he managed to find it 4 miles away from my house and got it back for me. To this day don't know how he found it but he was a hero to me and always will be. Good luck with the bikes man.
I'm literally gutted for you. The fact the thiefs had sold your green one so cheap is also a fucking insult to how much you put into it. Glad you got the bikes back though shame the red one had been left in such a condition if it was me I'd of changed the rim on the rear just for peace of mind
I've got a brand new spare rim in gonna throw in for free with the sale anyway, but chances are this one will go on for years, hub rims are very durable
@@DudeStuff yeh that's probably best. I know you went round the rim with a file and took off the sharp bits but there is always the risk that some was missed and that could lead to having future punctures. Hopefully it gets sold soon and you get to see the back end of it as I bet just looking at it pisses you off as I know it would if it was mine

Gutted for you Steve, I've seen the work you've put into these bikes and being in the middle of a build myself would hate to image what it's like to have one taken and bashed up. Glad you got it back and I'm sure you'll get it all sorted 👍

Hi buddy I feel for you. The only thing I can say is get some decent security for them. I put a chemically bonded ground anchor in my garage and both bikes are secured with. A 14mm, 11mm and abus 13mm d lock. Ground anchor from pragmasis. Give them a call you won’t regret it. Gutted for ya pal. Ps Ive subscribed as Ive been on andy’s channel from the beginning.

That sucks, the drone searching was a great idea :) heart breaking to see the damage to the bikes though, a bike shop might be able to fix the buckled wheel if they have the device for it?

I had a fat Ebike stolen in May, it was a horrible feeling unfortunately didn't get mine back. I've been watching your conversation vids so I'm in the middle of converting a Carrera Hellcat, got a 1000 watt motor for it already, battery next payday. I'm going for a 48v 19ah battery. So glad you at least managed to get yours back.

I know it’s a year late .. (perhaps advice for viewers rather than you ) but any wheel builder could replace the spokes and rim on that hub.

Thats messed up buddy. I can Guarantee, 100% that the guy who said he paid $300 for the bike, is the one that stole the bikes. Thats what they always say that when they get caught. The entitled prick needs to get TKO'ed.

Friend of mine had his giant stolen a few months back. He calls me up, I find it for him and we take a few gym lads round to the address to re-liberate it.

For the benefit of others reading this ( sorry it will not help you) Many home insurance policies do not cover E-bikes. I had to add both mine & my wife's new Brompton e-bikes ( Xmas prezzies to ourselves) to the policies. I also included an extra £ 300 each in the cost for future accessories & they agreed. This added £25-00 to my policy ( about 10% so it was a lot in comparison) They still have to be locked to secure fixings when in the garage & I have to use good quality locks when out. The policy also included 3rd party liability is we cause an accident. Considering what E-bikes cost it is worth it in the grand scheme of things & you would have got new for old replacement. Separate insurance can be as much as £175 so adding to household contents is cheapest option.Sorry about your bad luck though.
Insurance will always look for ways to not pay out at all or pay less, it's worth checking any bikes are covered and mentioned on your policy for sure.

That's what puts me off storing an ebike ihad a normal bike stolen it was on CCTV footage also, so no bike rides with my son now. Bet you had fun with them afterwards

You should have arlam and hiden the battery and tracker
Ends up being theft and damage, because without a key or fob they can't usually be powered up. But unless the bikes in the bedroom, make it awkward for them and lock them up with an alarm kit.

I found them. I know there names, address, family, friends. I know what they are for there last meals. One involved died unfortunately last month.
I had my downhill comp bike stolen got it back 2days later after sending a message via a friend that I can as going to break the lads legs who took it repair bill was £600+ still in back of shed 3 years later

not a good idea jet washing an ebike with the battery still connected
Why not, it's switched off and in a case, had no issues doing this
@@DudeStuff batteries are not waterproof also the motor is not sealed either the cells rust very easily if they get wet as they are welded together water in the motor has the same effect won't happen eight away takes a few washes as i found out on muy ebike driving it down the beach
Never had an issue washing my bikes in this way, maybe our kits are a bit more resilient! The hub motor on my big bike has been fully immersed in a Ford before and was fine. Wouldn't do it all the time though!
@@DudeStuff 'waterproof' is not 'jet-wash proof', should be ok if use low-pressure hose and soft brush and removes all muck, nothing on bikes needs multi-bar pressure wash, it just drives shite and water past seals and removes essential lubes etc.
