Watching this after playing RDR2. Goddamn, this is even sadder now. Arthur Morgan, John Marston...Man, some of the BEST storytelling in gaming history in these two games.
John was a funny guy. I remember saving the people on the train in Blackwater and hearing the people cheer "It's John! We're saved!" "John's here!" ect. and just thinking: Wow, the people adore him. He truly is a hero. And then the government killed him. Even though Jack got his revenge, it doesn't change the murder of legendary hero. People don't greet Jack the way they greeted John. He'll be missed by everyone forever :(
Arthur Morgan: how did you die John Marston: I died to save my family Hosea: it's been a long time John Lenny: let's celebrate being together in heaven
@LumpyArbuckle There is a myth that when you are dying and see the light means you are going to heaven. That’s the same thing Arthur saw. And John saw darkness but he protected his family and helped other people so there might be luck that he is going to heaven. Hosea was a thief but he cared about everyone on the gang and he died saving Abigail from the Pinkerton in saint Denis. Lenny was just a kid that wanted to take revenge for his father so that’s what he did but after that he fell with the outlaws because of how lonely he felt on the world.
I had a son he passed away, I had a girl who loved me, I threw that away, My mommy died when I was a kid, My daddy, I watched him die as if that weren't enough -Arthur morgan,
Ive never played a red dead game but I discovered this song in a youtube video and holy shit this is amazing. They really hired some good talent for this game it gave me chills.
Brooo have you play it? If not, atleast you have to watch youtubers playthrough. I only watch it and its enough to make me so entertained. The ending is very sad tho :(
Ezio was cool in the three games he was a part of, but even with 3 full games spent with the entire life of a character, I cant help but to feel more connected to John. He was so human.
its called great writing. You can make people laugh, cry, make them angry simply by just applying great writing. You can achieve more in just five minutes than what poor writing can do in 2 hours.
Honestly, I had never heard of this soundtrack before, even when I had acknowledged RDR1!!! Thank you so much for sharing this soundtrack, fellow cowpoke!!! This song is TRULY touching to the heart and soul of a human being. I truly do feel it. 😢💔❤️👍🏻👍🏻🤠
idk how to describe it. i guess sad is the closest word i can come buy. John was a good guy. He didnt deserve what happened. this song fits the ending and Johns life of redemtion perfectly.
I noticed something at the end of the first RDR: So whenever John gets shot and he’s on his knees, you can see whenever he looks up at the men, it cuts back to Edger Ross and it shows him smoking a cigar, which shows how much he didn’t care about John. Then, it cuts back to John and he coughs twice, like he was trying to say something and then starts to fall down while giving Edger that look that basically says “you little rat”. Then, Edger throws his cigar and just shakes his head disrespectfully and just walks away. Dang, what a masterpiece.
in mexico the heroes like john are dying all the time and now this song makes me cry cause i see john marston in me this is a symbol that wahat we call "justice sometimes kills heroes and great people"
This soundtrack goes well when you decide to go back for the money with arthur, 2:25-2:50 this one for example, its dedicated to dutch and micah apparently
I just finished red dead redemption 1 and I’m fucking crying i miss John marston doing 21 gun fire Salute in honor of him rip old freind you have given me a reason to live 😢😢😢😢
john marston is a hero the reason he is one is because he wasted his life for his wife and son he wanted to startb a new life but the bastards at the agency wouldnt let him well always have a little piece of him in our heart and it was sad cause he risked his life for his family so R.I.P John marston
The thing is I never realized how much I made a personal connection with John until after he died. I think we're all the same as John, searching for redemption, a way to escape the sins of our past. John Marston is not a character in a game, he is a symbol of us all.
(In Heaven) Arthur: Welcome home, John. John: I just wish.. my son would be alright. Arthur: He will. We had taught him well enough to be brave and strong against the cruel world that we had always known and had endured. I truly believe that he won't really end up like us outlaws, who did very bad things. John: You're right. Thank you, brother. 😢💔💔🙏🏻🙏🏻⚰️⚰️
My cousins were staying over to my house while I was playing this game. I let them play with me and join me on this journey and one day I had to go play hockey and they fucking played the ending without me. Fuck, this was the best video game story line ever
I lost a damn controller to this game. As soon as john starts getting shoot I yelled NOOOOOOOO and threw my controller at my wall. Its sucks that he dies but if he didnt the story wouldnt have been so amazing. If that makes any sense.
I find it funny how many of the shooters actually missed, especially since their trained (I assume) because there's only maybe 7-10 bullet holes n him and at least 20 people... nonetheless great game but crappy lawmen
This is obviously Jack Marston’s song. It’s obvious because one of the lyrics says... “They’ve given you a reason to fight.” Which means that The Pinkertons killed John Marston so Jack wants to fight Edgar Ross because he killed John
No it's Arthur's for me i know you're gonna say Deadman's Gun appear before we know Arthur existence but there's a lot of lines are good with Arthur or maybe the music it's for them all because there's a line for John and Jack and there's a lot for Arthur so maybe this song is for Arthur or all of them
@ihateuubut After you beat the game and youre Jack, go to blackwater. Theres a side mission called "Remember My Family" (i think lol) Do that mission and enjoy this song :)

Kagebushin01 I dislike it too. Typical government.
Not the only one
“John made it... he’s the only one.”
R.I.P John Marston. Rot in hell Edgar Rose
Wolfie frank Edgar Ross ***😊👍
I always hear:" And look what they say tonight .."
I think thats more beautifull for living
You too, Micah
Rose? It's Ross...
Its ironic how we love an outlaw and hate a goverment agent who was doing his job.... RIP john marston
"Why are we still here, Irish? Just to suffer? I can still feel all I've lost. My family, my comrades. It feels like theyre still there."

Wait til you play RDR2.
Even after redeeming himself, his past caught up to him. Sad af.
Arthur Morgan: how did you die
John Marston: I died to save my family
Hosea: it's been a long time John
Lenny: let's celebrate being together in heaven
5 minutes later

John: **Sing Along**
Arthur: *LENNEEEHHH*
But John didn't have Abigail and Jack up there

Between this and Arthur's that's the way it is, rockstar and rdr never fail to make me an emotional wreck 😂😂
Marston knew this could have happened. He knew playing ball could get him killed. That's why he faced them like a man.
The only person that would dislike this video is Edgar Ross!

@@birdyboy3483 they burn in hell !
Micah would respect it.
