This is the longplay of Mario is Missing - Done Right, a hack game made by Gamma V based on the Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros 3 games.
Mario is Missing original is a purely educational game and considered one of the worst games of all time, so a person decided to make a hackrom to finally put Luigi as the protagonist in a platform game in the classic 2D style of the series and from there came the Mario is Missing - Done Right, as the name says, is a correctly produced version of the Mario is Missing game. Here we have no lessons in geography or travels in real places, but rather a platform game with action and epic battles for 7 worlds.
Gamma V did an excellent job, and despite small problems (unfortunately the feather does not allow Luigi to fly, but only glide and have only Yoshi in the green color), it is an excellent game.

This is a lot better than the game it was based on, which was a sorry educational plug. I had the misfortune of getting this game for Christmas one year, and hoped it was something like this. Beat the game in less than a day.
However, I also got Secret of Mana that same Christmas, and THAT was a great game, so Christmas wasn't ruined!
I was about 8 years old when when Mario Is Missing(SNES) was released, and this is what I had hoped the game would've been like. I love Super Mario World, and was hoping MIM would've been an extension of it.
While I was certainly disappointed in MIM, I'm guilty of having played it a lot because I was a geography & history dork when I was a girl. Other than the lower quality of the game, I think Nintendo's biggest mistake was not being way more clear that MIM was an educational game.

They can mix geography and history and stil made a great game but they give us this "strange Thing" called mario is Missing. This hack here is the true gem.
Luigi gets his own platform, makes a change than Mario getting all the credit.

it does exist: the best of the New Super Mario Bros. Series is actually the Luigi U game :p
Honestly, if it weren't for the kinda-underwhelming bosses, and the cheeky musical and stage design references to non-Mario games, this would be hard to tell from an official product. It's quality is very close to the real deal. Nintendo really should hire Gamma V; it's pretty clear that Gamma V has a very well-vested understanding of and respect for classic 2D Super Mario stage design. Even the custom spritework is extremely faithful to the Mario aesthetic circa Super Mario World.
There even seems to be some custom mechanics, like the pushable blocks in World 4-Temple. I don't think I've seen that in a 2D Super Mario Bros. game of the SNES generation.
All in all, an excellently-crafted hack. This certainly helps to redeem the low-budget edutainment game that was the original Mario Is Missing. Thanks for playing it, xRavenXP.

whenever i see these rom hacks i always like to think that there is a parallel universe where they made the actual game like the rom hack, and people disliked it, and instead some one made a rom hack in the parallel universe where the mario is missing done right it's actually about the geography mario is missing game. and people loved it. LEL
Even if there are an infinite amount of universes where all possibilities exist, I refuse to believe that there's a universe where people enjoyed Mario is missing. At best, there's a universe where the cover art on the cartridge didn't mislead kids by how cool it looked.

Esa es una de las pocas cosas que el Mario is Missing original hizo bien y un 'Done Right' debió conservar eso. Fuera de eso, este hack es genial. Saludos

I love the design!
I love how the tone of the game abruptly changes halfway through the final world. All game, up through 7-4 (Boil Over Bridge), there's a "we're going on an adventure" feel to it, which starting with 7-5 (Bullet Boneyard) it takes on a more serious atmosphere, like "the stakes are high, everything's trying to kill you right now, but you must press on to save your brother at all costs".
I love it when games do that.
In my opinion Super Mario World went hard with that aspect too.
By watching a video of it, you think it's only Mario.
But after you play the whole game, entering the Valley of Bowser is scary and when you play the final boss it's on another level.
It's only you and him. No background, no worries about how fast you have to do it, no UI. A little limitation escalated the darkness by quite a lot taking in mind it's still Super Mario.

@@vittosphonecollection57289 I remember how jarring it was that there was no countdown timer, no lives meter, coins, score, or stars. It's kind of sent a feeling like "Bowser's not messing around this time, you'd better bring your A game". Super Mario Bros 3 had a moment like that as well in world 8, it was already a really dark land, but when you finally got to the only two normal levels or world 8 the only light around was a spotlight over where you were on the map.

Luigi should visit famous landmarks, but it's a platformer.

The song have different options to get new soundtracks for the brand new game. This is how Mario is Missing should have been, I played the heck out the normal game when my parents baught it for me when I was a kid, I was treating it like a Mario game, but that was until I discovered the terrible truth about it, when I ran into a Koopa Troopa and noticed I took no damage, that's when I realized that it's not a true blue Mario game, played it until the end to beat the Final boss and then threw the game away, such s waste of money and I was livid and my parents grounded me for throwing the game away.
