Thank you for posting this video. I recently received all my Mobi essentials and got the right insulin for the pump. I’m now ready to begin the webinar and see my nutritionist that is supposed to help me out with getting the pump set up as well. Every little bit helps because this seems very overwhelming.
You’re welcome!! It’s always overwhelming getting set up with a new pump, but Tandem is the best and can help you with anything you struggle with. I’m here also! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me!!
I've been using Mobi for 4 days. I was 95% in range today. It's everything I've ever wanted in a pump. The secret for Control IQ was to have very accurate basal amounts going in. I have 8 basal changes throughout the day. I hear complaints about it. But I'm not having any issues at all.
Yes, the time in range is great! I’ve heard from more that a few people about the issue with the bubbles. I haven’t experienced this, but that is frustrating and I’m sorry. Thank you for the update!
Thank-you Jillian for your video! I’m currently on my 2nd T-Slim and about a year away from my warranty being up, so considering the Mobi! Exciting to hear about the future of Tandem. Was a former Omnipod user as well.
You’re welcome! Tandem is such a great company. I was tempted to go for the Medtronic 780g when it came out, but I didn’t want to leave Tandem. I had a bad experience with Omnipod’s customer support so I didn’t want to switch companies again. I’m glad they have a lot of new technology coming out over the next couple years. It’s so exciting!
@@JillianBoileau I had a similar bad experience, but with Medtronic years ago. Switched from Omnipod to Tandem due to Omnipod didn’t have their new system that works with Dexcom 7 years ago.
I’m so sorry! That’s really frustrating. I’m sure you’ve already taken the necessary steps to prevent air bubbles, but maybe you could contact Tandem to see if they could help you troubleshoot? If they can’t help you figure it out, hopefully you can get a replacement pump. Good luck!!
Hello Jillian, Yes, I have contacted them several times. Yesterday, they called me to discuss the air bubbles. The person I spoke with said they were aware of the situation from other Diabetics as well. I was told to leave the air bubble in my cartridge and wear it upside down so the air rests at the back of the cartridge. Unfortunately, I do not like having all the tubing hanging down so low on my waist. Oh well, I guess I have to be patient with Tandem since it is so new. I ado am frustrated with Control IQ giving me a correction bolus when I am in sleep mode. I always wake up too low. I was told I must have the wrong settings programmed, but no troubleshooting to correct it. I am frustrated with Mobi; however, I do love the small size. Thank you for all of your informative videos!😊
I’m sorry you are having such a difficult time with your pump! I’m not sure why they aren’t offering a replacement pump. I would not be happy with the Control IQ malfunction. That’s really frustrating and scary at the same time. Come on, Tandem!!!
@@JillianBoileau I guess it’s my fault. Tandem looked into it and told me I accidentally turned Control IQ off during sleep mode, but realized my error and turned it back on within a minute. Even though I turned it back on, it reset and sleep mode would not go back on until the next day. Live and learn!
@@kovgt you’re welcome! Thank you for watching! It should be changed every 3 days. Sometimes I go a bit longer, but quite often this will cause improper absorption and could also cause an infection. I find that any longer than 3 days requires a higher basal rate and I seem to get lipohypertrophy, which is scar tissue from the build up of insulin-it feels like a hard lump at the insertion site. Also, please remember that the Mobi holds up to 200 units of insulin. So if someone uses more than 200 units within 3 days, they will have to change their sites more often. This probably isn’t the case for your 8 year old though. Please let me know if you have anymore questions and make sure you check out my Tandem Mobi playlist so you can see all of the related videos.
You need a Long prime time with 3 cycles because you are not filling your pump all the way. If you put 200 units in your pump, the priming would be very fast. Also you can hear a pitch change when it’s starting to push insulin instead of air.
I don’t need close to that amount of insulin so I’m ok with the long prime. I’ve noticed the pitch change and I can see when the insulin starts to push through the tubing. Thank you!
The Mobi is water resistant, but not waterproof. I recommend taking it off before getting wet. I’ve heard of some people leaving it on while showering, but I would not do this. I like to disconnect and charge it during my shower anyway. The Mobi has an IP28 rating, which means it’s supposed to be able to withstand being submerged in up to 8 feet of water for 2 hours, but at the same time, Tandem does not recommend you wear the pump while swimming. It’s best to be safe in my opinion. I hope this helps!!
@@emceeunderdogrising Thank you for your advice. I actually do tap it and see no air bubbles when I change my set, but the bubbles always form by morning. I should say one large bubble. I am happy you never have issues with it.

Update. I've been 88% in range. Pretty good. I have had a few bubbles. I do find that concerning. But I can't complain about 88%.

Do you have to take off the tandem Mobi pump before doing anything water related? For example, before showering or swimming?

I still waiting for Android Version!
Tandem is not expected to offer Android compatibility this calendar year. I'm so sorry!
I grabbed the SE refurbished for $160. It's amazing. I do carry two phones. But the SE is tiny.
❤❤
I have to prime my cartridge EVERY day because I have one large air bubble causing a loss of insulin! What a waste!
I’m so sorry! This is why I’m so careful about avoiding and removing air bubbles when I fill my cartridge. Does this happen to you often?
Tap it. I haven't had an air bubble once. It does require more force.
