Great that you reacted to this version, with Youssou on stage, rather than the Secret World Live version that everyone else reacts to. That's great, too, but nothing beats Youssou's voice on this track!
Could not agree more. To me, this is the 100-percent "definitive" live version. Paula Cole is a great singer, but this song just isn't the same without Youssou's unique and incredible voice.
Peter is the greatest solo musician rock has ever produced. The man has no limits. I prefer the Secret World version, but this is awesome too. Paula Coles is a revelation on Secret World.
Great taste red! Peter Gabriel and Paul Simon are the two western artists who fully embraced world rhythms in western popular music. There is another great live version from the secret world live tour - so much musical joy and worth a watch on or off the channel. Peter Gabriel released an album last year ‘I/O’ and is still going strong.
The tall, bald man in the long white coat (mostly only visible in the early part) is the LEGENDARY BASSIST Tony Levin. He's been a longtime collaborator of Peter Gabriel's (responsible for the iconic basslines in "Sledgehammer," "Big Time" and "Steam") has been a regular and irregular member of King Crimson for over 40 years and played the hell out of the fretless bass on Joan Armatrading's "Call Me Names." Well worth checking him out!
My favorite PG song and this is the best version of it. Musicians, dancers, choreography. Perfection. And the irony that a song titled "In Your Eyes" is playing when I can't help looking into your beautiful eyes.
Yep, saw him last year in Manchester, England! This was the first encore. (His last appearances to date were in the North American leg of the tour, in the autumn.)
Nice that you are doing this😘, I know Peter from Genesis from the early 70's and how we danced to these songs in the mid 80's, beautiful memories that come back, thank you🙏
I grew up listening to Genesis, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel. Songs that I just love to sing along with. I love modern music and new releases, mainly in metal, but I can rarely sing along with it. Requires skills beyond my own.
Peter Gabriel and YYZ on the same day?! Thank you thank you thank you! Peter Gabriel is my favorite artist of all times, along with his band mate in Genesis, Steve Hackett. So excited to see your reaction to this one, too! Thanks Red!
@@Rockn-UV Both prog-rock and back in the day 2112 followed by the Lamb lies down on Broadway did occur many times. Fungus consumption may have occurred ......
@@Rockn-UV Definitely! No chance of seeing Rush again 😢, but I've seen both PG and Steve Hackett live since lockdown, plus a lot of newer bands like Nightwish and The Warning. I kind of figured, what am I saving my money for? I hardly went out for fun at all before lockdown (other than countryside walks), I don't do foreign holidays, the kids are grown, I don't drink or smoke, my health has improved, and now my wife and I are both working again we have disposable income - why not spend it on creating amazing memories?
Great song and an even better reaction Red This could be about your eyes which melt me to my core so soft and beautiful as they are windows to your beautiful soul❤❤❤ You are adorable❤❤❤ #petergabriel #duet #youssou_ndour #reaction #reactionvideo #youreyeslive #redheadedneighbor #bestreactor #redsarmy #beautifuldunciuntrygirl #heartofgold
It’s been many years since I’ve heard this song. It’s almost soothing to the ears. The bass guitar is very prominent and the drums are not overdone. Red, you look like you’re in heaven!!! Sometimes that’s the best reaction. 🎶 Cyd
This is a great version of this song. The World Wide Live version is all this and more! There is also an incredible version of Saulsbury Hill from that same show. It is transcendent if you haven't seen it
Such a great song and such a good live performance too. It is one of those songs that's just a soundscape in the ears on headphones. The rhythm of the bass and drums and the jangly guitar playing over it then the great vocals on top. Solsbury Hill is another good one from Peter Gabriel. I jus tlooked him up and he's the Minister of Tourism for Senegal! Youssef, not Peter. lol. If you want to continue the African theme and a duo from Senegal actually as well it would be fun to see you react to this one.... Amadou & Mariam (feat. Manu Chao) - Sénégal Fast Food (Official Music Video) Manu Chao has some great music (remember the Big Push cover) and he is on this song with them. It's a real fusion of styles and has that same headphones all encompassing feeling. I think you'd like it.
Thanks for this, way better than the Secret World version. Was originally release on a VHS tape called POV. I bought it back in the day and still have it. Along with the newer Live in Athens remaster. I see you have no Police on your channel, do yourself a favour and listen to Synchronicity. And Stewart Copelands solo stuff with Ricky Kej.
Peter Gabriel has always been presented as this overly artsy type of rocker, but here he really gets his groove on. It shouldn't work based on his past recordings, but somehow it does.

The best concert I ever had the privilege to see was Peter Gabriel's Secret World tour. Great choice !! Great reaction !
Thank you so much! I can’t imagine just how great that must have been!
I got to see Peter and Paula do this live, totally awestruck!! 🌹
Indeed. Saw this in Stuttgart and Offenbach back in the day.
"In your eyes...I see the doorway to a thousand churches". Beautiful imagery.

Unfortunately nobody can beat Youssou's voice.
One of Music's true GREATS and still producing his magic 🎵🎶🍯🤌🔥🙏💪🐝🍀

Saw i/o and it was all I could have expected. Fabulously entertaining.
Ohhh man ... these performances are bigtime moments in time 😁🤩

My favorite version of this song by a long shot!
Can never get enough of this live version...amazing!

He's still touring😮
Wait! He is?

Music that is so uplifting !! I have been a Fan for as long as i can remember 💕🙏
🔥💕🔥
On the Secret Live tour they took it to the next level, yes I got to see them! 🌹
I FULLY agree 1000%!!!
This has always been and still remains my favorite Perer Gabriel live performacne EVER.
Love love love

Interesting. I wonder how many fans of Rush are also Peter Gabriel fans. Count me in!

Thank you for that choice! It's unique! Beautiful! Thanks again! 😍😍😍

You should hear it in my old sound studio through the monitors.

Can I come to your place holding a boombox playing this song?🥰😂
🔥🔥
Would love to see a reaction to PG era Genesis!
Woooow stunning Red reaction ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you 😊
Great song and a great album. Peter gave us a lot to love.
Saw Peter Gabriel live in the round this was my wedding song

Watch Peter's Secret World tour with Paula Cole. Awesomeness at it's finest.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written
I just love it

Did you ever get to see Peter or Youssou, Live before ? Me, Pete 78' > , Youssou, w/ Pete in 86'.
No, I haven’t. I am glad you did!
Thanks for this, way better than the Secret World version.

Try Kate Bush and Peter doing don't give up 👍
🎼I Love this song ... but when Peter sing with Paula Cole is better.
But where is Phil Collins on your channel? At least do 'Dance on a Volcano' (Genesis).
I like more the 1994 version with Paula Cole
in your eyes from secret world live video please..
This song is totally fucked up. I salute my fellow artist. Poles know exactly what it's about
Youssou Song ? 7 Seconds ?
Oh of course! I knew there was a big hit he was on and I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was!
