- Klaas Willems is a Rock Climber who, due to his Cystic Fibrosis, has dedicated his life to climbing in clean air. He has bolted hundreds of routes in non-polluted areas like Sardinia, Italy and found great success and peace in the process. His journey takes on a new dimension when he is also diagnosed with cancer.
This multi-ward-winning documentary tells the story of Klaas.

Thanks for sharing your journey with us to date Klaas. You truly are an inspiration to watch and to listen to. I have had some friends with CF in the past who are sadly no longer with - I don't know if you every knew of them - Stefan Kratz and Fran Levy. When Stafan passed, he was the oldest CF sufferer at the time... that was a while ago. You have remarkable determination. I wish you everything of the best as you continue your journey. I am glad too, that the medications for CF are improving all the time. That is really awesome. Take care and keep on climbing!!

Saw Klaas a few times back in the day in the local gym in Leuven but never knew about his struggles, he was just a great climber to watch. Never knew until now I actually sat next to his sister Jolien in class for 2 years during school 🥲

I think medicine should also dig itself out of the stone age because their diagnoses are so static, even though they all know about that scientific phrase: facts are facts only until further verification. And this concrete belief in facts, delusional though they may be, shuts down everything in most people. Diagnosis, treatment is one thing. But as many philosophers have said, doctors need a communication center where we talk to clients about the impact and possibilities of diagnosis.
