      My niche is print and digital marketing materials for conferences and events.
      My fear is that my ideal clients are already working with an in-house designer or freelancer.
      How do I find businesses that are not already working with a designer?

    • @4TheCreatives
      @4TheCreatives  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@sarahjoystreet_ There are always companies who will have in-house designers, but I have clients who have a whole team of designers and still use me for re-brands and bigger projects because the ones inside are usually more like worker bees and they like to get external expertise to bring in a fresh feel to their designs. And in terms of the ones that are already working with a designer, there will be some who are, but there will still be some that are looking for someone and it is all about being where they are seeking marketing advice online and showing up as the solution. This could be inside of online communities, providing a helpful content piece or delivering a workshop on the topic.

    Hi Lauren,
    This is Allan with K.T Solutions. I really love this video as its very insightful and I do agree on niching after watching your other videos and how you made your breakthrough by niching in on Amazon sellers.
    I have a passion in brand identity design from creating logos to brand identity systems. I would really love to work with tech start ups so that I can handle their visual identity needs while they focus on developing their products but the main issue I have faced is that many of them don't have a budget as they are just starting out and those that are quite established already have big creative agencies working for them so its quite hard to break through.
    I would also like to work with professional service providers like lawyers, fitness coaches but I am not sure how to zero down on one profession to serve. You mentioned that we need to find industries we love to work with, honestly, if a client is well paying and reasonable I am always happy to work with them and as such I have worked with people from different industries in the past which makes it hard for me to know who I really want to work with.
    I hope to get some insights.

    • @4TheCreatives
      @4TheCreatives  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Allan, great that you are thinking this through so well. I’m curious where you looked for the tech startups?
      There are so many e-commerce Amazon sellers that are just starting and only want to pay $100 for a logo and used to stretch them to pay $500. But as I got better at presenting and selling myself I was able to attract the ones that were willing to pay $2500 for a brand. So I feel in any industry there are the cheap ones and the ones that are willing to invest more. Even in the tech space. Some ppl don’t want to pay quite agency prices but are willing to invest thousands.
      Maybe you should talk to some of your ideal clients and find out where they are online. Is it LinkedIn? Specific FB groups or masterminds? Who do they listen to for business advice? Can you collaborate with those “influencers” that your ideal clients listen to? On a blog…podcast…workshop…etc.
      The reason I say to choose something you’re passionate about, particularly the style, is because you will get more and more inundated with work from a specific niche and you want to still enjoy it.

      Thanks for the response Lauren.
      Well, honestly I have been using word of mouth and friends I have worked with before to recommend me to colleagues. I have also tried Facebook ads but didn't get results thus my search on TH-cam and I landed on your videos that made sense to me.
      May main challenge is narrowing down on who exactly to target. Like you mentioned there were many amazon sellers but you had to get to the ones who pay over 2500usd. How do I do that?
      There are many startups but getting to the ones willing to pay is high is still a challenge.
      Thanks

    This is amazingly great advice when talking about any creative industry. I know from personal experience in the animation world that finding a niche is key to ultimate success. I thought that I wanted to direct an animation one day, so I set out to learn EVERY aspect that I could about the production of animated videos. I became the, "Jack of all trades, master of none." When I realized how difficult a task it was to direct, I gave up entirely. I didn't have a place that I fit in. I wish that I had focused on something... found my niche. If I had, I would probably be happily working in the industry today, perfecting my skills, and becoming more valuable in my niche.

    I have a good rapport with ui design community and i was very heavily leaning to specializing in UI design before landing my current GD. I figure i can find a specific niche that bridges these two creative fields which i feel is logo & icon design, initially, & eventually also offering branding.
    Due to my current job it is only Sunday that I can with freelance, so I can assure only short projects. Logo and icons fit the bill. Even if the entire psychology is the most detailed i bet i can finish in within 8 hours.
    If you see this Lauren, what do you think?

    • @4TheCreatives
      @4TheCreatives  ปีที่แล้ว

      I saw your other comment and I think the tech startup niche has a lot of iconic looking logos that are clean and modern. And then you could use your UI skills to help create the look in a brand package of how their online interfaces would work. This will be especially helpful for SAAS tech brands as you mentioned in your other comment.

    First , thanks alot for your video !
    But I have a question , after I choose my niche should I choose too what I will design as example : logo , illustrations .. or I can make different designs in the niche I am interested in
    ( I am not interested that much in making logo but I found that it is very important to alot of people like companies ... )
    And I have another question , what if I am really Like learn some language would it be a good niche ? ( I thought about that )

    • @4TheCreatives
      @4TheCreatives  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, exactly. You should decide what type of design you need to specialize in. If you don't like logo design, then you don't have to choose that. It should be something you love and that fits with the target audience you chose. There are many other types of design aside from logos.
      There are industries that teach language. You could look into what businesses are in the language niche and see if that makes sense.

    • @4TheCreatives
      @4TheCreatives  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Everyone may have their own logos already, but there are always new businesses starting and more and more each year. And sometimes if you do other types of designs for one in that niche, then they will recommend you to another business that is starting. It really doesn't matter the niche, just choose one and then look up the projected growth for the next few years by Googling "market size for ___ (your niche)"

    Hi Lauren, I want some clarification about the niching i.e. Landing Page design for real estate website, Landing Page design for Lead Generation, Landing Page design. Are all these considered as niching? And another one is Landing page design for webflow site, Landing page design for wordpress site, Landing Page design in HTML/CSS. These are also considered as niching. My question is which one is better to choose i.e. First One or Second One.

    • @4TheCreatives
      @4TheCreatives  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is important to think with a niche as a path to find the type of clients you want to work with. The landing page design for Webflow or Wordpress are each specializations, NOT niches. A niche is a common group of people with a common problem that you service with your specialization. So you could do Webflow landing pages for Beauty brands or Shopify websites for Food and Beverage brands.
