Well, in addition to having suspension of disbelief, you must remember that the entire game was designed to ensure one particular person survived: Zoey. Thus, Minos constantly shifted things to ensure the rooms went in Zoey's favor.

Many times it is to either attempt to induce people to knowingly watch the film multiple times for the different endings, or an attempt to garner buzz by intentionally getting people to have conflicting accounts of how the movie ended in order to artificially create a buzz. Clue is a famous example of this, with different theaters each having one of three different possible endings to the film. It was the home video release that solidified an ending and delegated the other two as to "what if" endings for the credits.
I remember seeing this one movie (1408) where a paranormal writer got trapped in a haunted hotel room. There are several endings, and if I recall correctly, it's because there was a book or something and it was vague on what the ending was. I don't know. All I know is that it was originally a Steven King book, and the theatrical release got 4 different endings.

If I saw a movie and a friend saw it another time and we compared notes, we’d realize pretty quickly we actually saw 2 different versions… where as on social media people would argue and hurl insults and even threats because it wouldn’t occur to them that they saw 2 different endings. They’d be too stuck on the ‘I’m right and you’re stupid’ narrative to really THINK! Here’s another example (although not quite the sane thing, exactly); the Broadway musical ‘A Chorus Line’ is about 17 people auditioning for a chorus line job in a Broadway show. There are 8 jobs going. There IS a script which states which characters win the job at the end, but some directors choose to play it as the on stage casting director literally calling 8 names ON the night. So the cast that we see have no idea who it’s going to be, either. The surprise displayed is genuine and not acting, because they didn’t know until that moment. So 2 people who saw the show on different nights might compare notes and realize that they saw 2 different endings as 8 different characters were chosen for the job each night. Seems like a bit more of a complicated way to play it, because it means that all 17 actors have to know the dance at the end (to the song ‘One’), where as if you stick to the script, you only have to teach 8 people the dance, because they win the job every time. 😛
4:42 Shocking the keys in the air makes no gd sense, the object is floating so electricity wouldn't arc to it - electricity *_always_* takes the path of least resistance and air itself has a high resistance, at least compared to metal/flesh. If anything, handing off the keys would have a stronger reaction since their bodies are grounded I acknowledge this is also magical movie electricity that arcs through air while ignoring their bodies for the most part, but still. The keys are a weird exception to make

Back in the days, mistery movies were based on for example a novel by Agatha Christie. It had an interesting story, with a logical yet unpredicable plot, little to none special effects, and actors did great. Nowadays, there is this... Unrealistic illogical story, abuse of special effects, predicable ending and actors just shouting from place to place. It shows what our society has turned into.
There is room for both. Knives Out was a considerably bigger hit than either Escape Room, and the same was true for each sequel. This movie was not really a mystery movie either, as we already were shown who designed these rooms.
In the present day, people know how spell mystery and it's generally stupid to act like all old movies were better. There were tons of garbage that the studios didn't even bother to preserve.
