I like how he said that the girls could have crawled under the cab to avoid getting killed by the acid rain forgetting that acid is still technically liquid and could possibly pool up and move under the cab as well. I know acid is different from water, but running liquid will still pool up and flow in directions where there’s a dip or hill. So the girls may have survived, but not without some damage done.

If the possibility of the acid pooling under the car comes to mind, I'd much rather accept my fate and get it over with than be slowly melted by the acid on the ground.
I get that this is just a movie, and that he's got the benefit of hindsight on his side, but literally NO ONE can think as fast, far ahead, and as safely as he's making all of this seem.
Youd be surprised at how people with great critical thinking can manouevre situations.

The acid rain trap was so awful. The fact that there was just no way for the two girls to survive goes against the entire spirit of the escape rooms

Each time it rained it took 15 seconds off the clock. It's pretty obvious that when the clock has no more seconds to countdown too, it would just rain all of the time trapping the girls wherever they were. So...yeah, pretty deadly for more than one player.

2:Zoey fell through the cab suggesting that the game masters must seal it off to protect the exit
3:Rachel/blonde girl can’t feel pain but can still die from acid
4:even if the cab wasn’t sealed crawling out of the cab would get them killed since the rain creates puddles
5:The Ending you got was different
(Not trying to be mean) Rachel/The blonde girl can't feel pain, its an actual Disorder that a few people have, even if the person cant feel the pain, it harms the body they have, Its like if they had a papercut, they cant feel it but its still there
Having Rachel use the umbrella would prob be a bigger risk since she wouldn't notice if the umbrella was mispositioned. Her entire leg could be melting and she wouldn't notice until it was too late

I love the idea of a group of survivors from the previous movie being put through another escape room. Sort of like the hunger games, you see their badassery and there's a lower level of stupidity generally

I like how he makes all of this sound so easy to think about, when these people only have seconds to make certain moves, and have the pressures of life and death thrown at them to cause them to make mistakes, while he's just like, "THAT was a dumb mistake. I would have looked at the rubber chicken on the floor, thrown into the mirror, revealing that The Joker was behind it all, then cut a 10 inch rope that I saw milliseconds into walking into the room, pulled the light bulb from the chandelier, turned it on with the potato I had stored in my pocket and wires from my phone that was somehow not taken away from me, and hacked the the entire room, which took me 10 seconds to do."

29:07 actually, if you look closer, there was something underneath the taxi, completely filling up the space, so even if they thought of climbing under the car, there would be no way they could.

14:00 Blood diamonds are a concept (I don’t know much, but basically huge corruption involved with them). Blood money is also a thing as you mentioned. So the solution isn’t so reliant on chance, escecially if all the diamonds are sharp enough to cut someone. It’s likely someone was going to touch one of the diamonds, bleeding and thus getting the solution

The problem with CIPA lady taking the pain is that she can't feel when something is wrong. For example, when acid is dripping on you and you can't feel it so it burns right through you into a major blood vessel or organ. Just because you can't feel the damage doesn't mean it isn't happening. She would actually be the worst person for that job.
Pain can be a distraction. So she treats herself like she can, she can risk sticking her hand out from under the umbrella if necessary or keep fear at bay and focus. But she would need a "spotter" to keep her from not paying attention to the way she was holding the umbrella.
I'd like to mention the fact that the "hardcore Russian guy" who died at the sauna competition, was competing with a Finnish guy who was even more hardcore, as he spent the same time in the same sauna and actually survived alive with no major health complications.
I was so worried about acid rain as a kid, then realised it wasn't deadly. This film has put that fear back into the forefront of my mind.
Only very few acids can melt that quickly and they would need to buy all that acid so yeah

In theaters, there was a way different ending. A girl from the 1st movie was framed into making new escape rooms and the last room Ben was put into was flooding, not burning. And it ended with the 2 main characters finally being able to hop on a plane to New York. But the plane turns out to be an escape room

The blonde girl volunteering herself for the acid rain is probably a worse idea then you’d think. People who can’t feel pain don’t notice when they’re injured. She could have parts of her body that aren’t under the umbrella and not notice she’s getting dissolved because she doesn’t feel the pain.
She would still feel the liquid touching her though. She said she can't feel pain not that she doesn't have her sense of touch.
@@Goovdluck687 Actually, she probably wouldn't. CIPA heavily affects your sense of touch. Those affected by CIPA aren't ticklish at all, often don't notice when they need to use the restroom, and don't notice heat or cold unless it's quite extreme. Not having the ability to feel pain affects a lot more than one thinks.

Also there was clearly a puddle of acid pooling under the taxi, and barely any room to climb under there. When he was saying to hide under the taxi after the acid went off a few times, there’s no way they could crawl/burrow underneath there without getting acid all over their body and start dissolving them painfully, and maybe in their face/eyes/nose etc. I love cinema summary and most of his idea are great but his take on the acid room ain’t it 🤣😭

For the train room, they could've waited until they found every letter that was missing before pulling each individual ring. If I were in that situation, I'd try to pull as many rings at once had I noticed the voltage was getting stronger. The sudden change in voltage might even break the coils, who knows

If you pay attention closely, all hints to the next rooms are in the advertisements on the electrocuted train:
- "Lose yourself in the sand": the quicksand in the beach room. There's also a pair of mother and daughter, hinting at the mannequins on the beach.
- "The power of two": In the alternate ending, it's Claire's room. She made it very clear she couldn't solve the puzzle on her own, she needs Zoey to help her out. In the theatrical release version, it's Amanda from part 1. Zoey needs her help to break Ben out of the water chamber.
- "Don't become the statistics: Five out of six die": there could only be one winner.
- "Feared by the stains" + "The cure for cancer is in our blood": the bank room. The key to solving the puzzle is to smear blood, or staining, the dollar bills with your blood.
- "Cut waiting time, cut down the competition": as someone else pointed out, the timer in the acid rain room cuts down 15 seconds every time it stops raining. Eventually, the rain will last forever, killing whoever is still in that room. As we see, only Zoey got to the exit, leaving the remaining 2 dying in the rain.
- An ad for a taxi company: the only way out of the acid rain room.
- "Moving out? We can help"+ "Unlock a better day": this may be a stretch, but I interpret that as Claire freeing herself from her parents. Once teenagers are old enough to live by themselves, they will move out of their parents' house to start a new life. Claire killed her mom and ran away from her possessive, deranged, distant father.
These are all I can pick out from all the shots. If you see something else, feel free to reply.

dont forget about the sign beside the door when theo puts the handle and it says "0526" they had to use that code in the bank room
I really like the last one about Claire. Makes sense because she's the one who designed the escape rooms so she'd definitely know what her plan would be at the end. But unlike the last movie, these clues didn't tie up to the players. So I guess they had something to do with Claire's life. The acid room has to be my least favorite in the series so far tho, but it sure showed how Sadistic Claire is. It lacked any logic, pure chaos. I guess that was the perfect introduction to a purely evil character.

So pretty sure endings varied because in an alternate movie, Amanda was still alive and was creating the games to save her daughter Sonya. As well as Zoey and Ben being tricked into an escape room tested at the end of the first movie.

Alright, around 17:50, I gotta point out that these lasers are ABSOLUTELY science fiction. There's not a SINGLE laser in the world that will cut a stack of white bills like it did in this movie.

I was literally started watching yesterday it's getting good at episode 6 I'm on 7 rn
For some reason, when I watched the movie, the beginning and ending was completely different. In the beginning, she went to a therapist and thought of some clues but then moved on to New York. At the end, Instead of the daughter, it was the girl who “died”in the upside down room last episode so she had to make these escape rooms because her daughter was threatened. Minos wanted to do the same with Zoe, buy almost drowning Ben, but they found an unintended way to escape and than told the police. In the last part, they went through another escape room on a plane with that therapist and the same clues.

In case anyone is confused like me, this is the "Alternate/Extended Cut" of the movie.
In the original movie, there is no Henry or Claire. Instead, Amanda is revealed to have survived her fall in the first movie and has been making traps because Minos is blackmailing her with the life of her daughter, Sonya. Zoey, Amanda, and Ben escape, but later on, Zoey and Ben board a plane where they are put into another escape room, possibly the one seen at the end of the first movie (the "plane escape room" the Game Masters were testing).
That sounds much better than this random asspull little girl who invented all of it just because she felt like it.

Pain is a survival mechanism. It tells us to get out of harm's way when something is wrong. Just because the girl could not feel pain does not mean she was immune to acid or any other form of damage. It only means she would suffer less tactile pain as she gets destroyed
there was no way for them to get under the car for the acid trap as it looked like the tires are flattened and there's some kind of border preventing them from getting underneath it seemed but there were plenty of things they could have used to take shelter from the rain by taking stock of what didn't melt

How to beat: Ok, this was their BIGGEST mistake.
U can’t really hide under a taxi from acid rain bc the acid will go under the car
The version in theaters was COMPLETELY different that this version!
The first room doesn't happen at all, IIRC, the movie starts off with Zoey in therapy explaining what happened and what it would take for her to move past all of the previous trauma and get on a plane again, most the rooms are the same until the end, when we find out that the game designer is actually Amanda Harper from the first movie, who has somehow survived, and the game masters are using her daughter to make her design the games. Ben and Zoe survive and take a flight, which turns out to be a escape room that was alluded to in the first movie.
I saw this beginning at home are there 2 movies with the same name just these slight differences and they just wanna mess with people because that would be hilarious

Actually there are two movies. The first movie is Escape Room where Zoey and Ben survived. It was an introduction of what the movie is all about and how did the mastermind of the whole game was able to mess up everyone's lives and reveal the sad truth of their past. The ending of that is the airplane scene where it was revealed that they are just engineering and designing another escape room with an airplane-themed one since Zoey and Ben who survived the game is planning to have their flights in unravelling the truth about the whole mess and who did it. And then here comes Escape Room 2: Battle of the Champions which is explained on this video. All of the survivors of the previous Escape Room are all gathered together inside the subway and was then shocked that they are once again gathered unexpectedly without a clue to test their luck and intelligence in solving all of the puzzles in order for them to escape and survive once again. But only this time that the escape rooms they are about to face are centered on the life of the mastermind because of the items and clues regarding her backstory and family issues. And it was later revealed on the last part of the movie why Claire (the mastermind of all the games) was locked up because she was behind all of these, the murder of her own mother and she's extremely mad of her father because he is using all of his designs and not her.

the opening sequence was a therapist telling Zoey to stop chasing after Minos even revealing some clues to the escape rooms
the ending i saw was that amanda have designed the rooms, she was saved to make the rooms for minos(when she fell off from the first movie) and even telling Zoey that Minos wants her to be a puzzle maker. Zoey refused, rescued Ben from drowning and escaping once more. Then board the airplane where she meets the therapist that sets her up all along.

This is especially true when you consider the first movie. An attempt is made at the first door's keypad before even looking around the room and that starts the heat, thus putting them on a deadly timer.
I agree - that plus hiding under the taxi was bad advice. Even if the underside of the taxi was available (and it wasn't - the shoot from the backseat was under the back half and the front half the tires were popped so it wasn't off the ground enough) there's no guarantee the acid wouldn't get underneath the car. I guarantee the floor was slightly tilted to a drain somewhere to keep the ground from pooling the acid which would lead to it getting under the taxi.
Yeah, look at the saw movies. 1 button sets off a timer and you will be dead within a minute

In my cinema, these end and beginning scenes were VERY different, the sauna room was no where to be seen, we never met any masterminds, one contestant from the last movie that was presumed dead, was the one who designed it, the end room was completely different and more of a children’s bedroom, Zoey was told to work with Minos, and there was a completely new scene which shown the ceiling and floor of a motel room closing and mushing someone, the po po get involved and arrest them and stuff, Zoey was taking therapy, and the end scene shows them ina another series of escape rooms, starting with a plane. There’s probably more but dam are there some differences between things, I saw this one at release pretty much, maybe it was changed, regional difference? I don’t know, but what I watched looks different from what you watched

I saw this movie in theatres and the beginning & end scenes are drastically different. At the end of the movie, Amanda from the first movie returns and was actually helping Minos all throughout the second movie. On top of all of this, the audience in theatres never found out who the GameMaster truly was.

29:50 actually Tempered Glass is not much tougher than plate glass, and the reason it is made is so that when it breaks it doesn’t shatter into jagged sharp pieces! It breaks into very small not sharp pieces.

The beach room though, my first thought was to check the seashell eyes then the gross container of crab. Very easily could have been something inside. I also thought about throwing the wood boards on the ground too.
There have been two endings. The original, the one seen on netflix as there was supposed to be a 3rd movie, following the first movie's success, and they expected that the second was also going to be as successful, which wasn't, so they filmed the second ending, the one you see in the video, to put an end to the story. But when netflix asked to put the movie up in it's site, it was a huge chance for them so they used the original ending because of a high chance of success, and a high chance of them being able to afford to make a third movie. And it blew up on netflix, and a 3rd movie is in the works, set to come out in 2024.

As soon as I saw it Netflix I started watching it to prepare for the inevitable cinema summary video. Only just finished episode 5 and so far the characters have been pretty smart overall so I’m excited to see how cinema summary rips them apart for their dumb decisions 😂

Just FYI there is another version of this movie where the beginning and end are different. In the other version it begins with her being in therapy and the therapist asking her what it would take for her to get on a plane. Then the woman says that maybe a bunch of things are clues. At the end of the movie, it isn’t the daughter of the puzzle maker but the red haired woman that fell to her death in the first movie who she meets in the last room. They are holding her daughter, Sonya, hostage and force her to design an escape room for them. There is a whole bunch of “if you didn’t see it, it didn’t happen” stuff. Her friend is alive. The three of them make it out of the escape room and see pod like containers that are supposed to contain the rooms for quick installation and removal. The government assured her that they will take these sick people down, one of her requirements to get on a plane. She sees a woman that looks just like her therapist with all the clues she had pointed out earlier. And then she and her friend get on a plane and the escape room being tested at the end of the first film begins.
It might have also implied that there is no Sonya and that Amanda was working for Minos all a long

I don’t care if Nate was the dumbest character in the movie, he was BY FAR the bravest and most heroic one. I mean, in the bank room he literally cleared two thirds of the path to the vault by taking a huge-ass risk because the others didn’t know what to do. And in the beach room? He literally sacrificed himself to save Rachel’s life. It was a really dumb move, considering that he could’ve just thrown the lifesaver and let it sink, but it takes some serious guts and selflessness to literally dive headfirst into a deathtrap just to save one person. Nate might have been a complete dumbass, but that man definitely earned his place in Heaven
Also, despite what this video says, Rachel and Brianna wouldn’t be able to fit under the car in the acid room. If you look closely, there’s a panel underneath the car that prevents them from going under it
I'm going to chalk it up to do first, question later. A man's instinct (especially one that's a Christian (or really faith)) is to protect women. Not for some socio-crap. It's actually more animalistic. But because women are "life givers" and therefore needs protecting. So the first instinct is to dive head first regardless of whether it's stupid or not. It's easier to consider things in hindsight than in the moment. I, myself, consider myself "brave to the point of idiocy". If I have someone to protect, I'll fight off a bear despite knowing full well it will likely kill and eat me. If I'm alone, I'm much more of a coward.
As for the bank, everyone else was panicking. So doing something--stupid or otherwise--is better than doing nothing at all or even giving in to the panic. The whole "walk by faith and not by sight" is often mistaken as literal. To "walk by faith" is to keep calm in the face of adversity and believe everything will work out in the end. Bigger group doesn't always equate to better chances either. Because now you have to contend with conflicting information, panic/stress, and selfishness (and everyone is selfish to a degree when your life is on the line---a "nothing personal, I just don't want to die"). So the priest just saved them precious time at the cost of his life. Because only his life was jeopardized in that moment (not counting the over all game) because they hadn't figured out the pattern yet while he solved over half of the path as you've stated just by taking a shot in the dark.

Guys, I’ve been thinking about this for a while so bear with me here. Imagine:
Cinema Summary and Nerd Explains do a collab, but not as you might think. Both of them are put in separate escape rooms, modeled after some of their videos (for this example, let’s say ‘Escape Room’ and ‘Saw’). Then, they’re thrown into a fight against monsters, again from their videos (again, for this example, let’s assume something like ‘Train to Busan’ zombies and ‘Assimilate’ body snatchers). Finally, they’re pitted against each other in one on one combat. This way, we can see who could TRULY survive.
In a final twist, the creator of the games turns out to be Matpat from game theory joining them as a third collaborator. It’d be the ultimate nerd & media analyst collaboration

Something you missed in the city room, the cab had a large box under it which would prevent the other girls from going under, as if the designer knew this was a possibility & closed it before anyone could think of it.
No, I don’t think he did. It’s a different car model than he said. He said it’s a Ford crown Victoria (which is pretty high), but it’s a Chevrolet Caprice (which is way lower than the crown vic)
I actually just thought they had no chance any way of going under the cab as Minos or Claire would crush them with the taxi, or squirt something nasty on them . But either way i knew they would not be able to hide under the taxi. Zoe should have just held the taxi door open for them . or atleast tried to. It was so silly seeing her try and break the strong glass windows with her feet .
I thought that even if they go under the car, wouldn't the acid still hurt them? Like when it rains, the ground gets wet and puddles of water form... Wouldn't it be similar with acid? Like when the acid rains, I feel like the ground would get wet and acid puddles would form. So if they try to get out from under the car, they would get burned anyway cause they have to touch the ground

About the acid rain room, there was no way for anyone to crawl underneath the taxi cab. If you pause at 28:47, you can clearly see that the car's parked on some really high speed bumps, and that the rear is even more blocked by a concrete barricade.
Once I noticed how often you say “X here” when referring to a person, I want to turn it into a drinking game. You say “Zoe here”, “Brianna here”, “this guy here”, etc, so much I can’t stop noticing every time!

Maybe it’s just me but it looks like there is something under the taxi blocking anyone from crawling under…go back and look towards the front end of the car and you can see the edge of some sort of metal block going all the way to the back end of the car
@@tylerkucharski3945 Yes. Besides, (correct me if I'm thinking wrong) Zoey escapes the room by falling through the taxi's seats, that means there's a tunnel or any kind of construction under the car, making it impossible to hide under it.
Escape room 2 did not end the way you showed here. At least in my country. It showed Zoey entering a nice room and Amanda, the woman that fell off the pool table in part 1 in there. It was WAYYYY DIFFERENT and the movie ended with Zoey on a plane and the minhos announcing that the game wasn't over yet
